Send us a textAlief's own Young Brown's journey began as a photographer, capturing the underground club scene in Houston. Over time, this experience sparked a deep passion for DJing, and he's spent the past year perfecting his craft. While his heart belongs to jungle and drum & bass, he's drawn to any genre with fast tempos, heavy basslines, and soulful samples. His sets fuse the atmospheric soulfulness of Jungle and Footwork with the raw, high-energy punch of Ghettotech, creating a unique, upbeat energy for the crowd. Despite having DJed for less than a year, he's already shared the stage with DnB legend Goldie and headlined events like Nights Like This. ½ of @lospolloshermanoshtxFollow Young Brown on Socials!https://soundcloud.com/youngbrown7https://soundcloud.com/los-pollos-hermanos-htxhttps://www.instagram.com/iamyoungbrown_/https://www.instagram.com/lospolloshermanoshtx/Support the showThe South Gots Something to Say!

This edition of The Bunker Podcast comes from Camille Altay (they/them), a visual artist, composer and DJ who lives and works in Climax, New York. Camille spent formative years as a drum and bass dj in the house-heavy rave scene in Chicago in the late 90s. A contrarian in nature, Camille has been known to play genre-bending dj sets with influences ranging from Cumbia to Ghettotech. Camille's live sets lean toward the spiraling, runaway arpeggiations of synth music in its initial stages of identity crisis - whether to emulate real instruments, or subversively carve a path towards unnamed and evolving shapes of space and identity. Camille has a recent release on the The Bunker's long-form sub label Going In, is a founding member of of the group Birds of Prey (Kathexis Records, Mysteries of the Deep), and collaborates with LA artist Israel Vines under the moniker CAIV, with the most recent release Dwellers EP out on Tresor Records. tracklist: 1 Reflection In Your Eyes / A.Fruit / Your Inner Sun 2 Bella di Giorno / Marco Shuttle / MSP01 3 Trunk Junk / Mad Zach / Out of Body 4 Tribes / Oceantied / Tribes 5 French Lessons / Beatrice M. & Trois-Quarts Taxi System / Spiral Study vol.3 6 Mhkl / Siu Mata & Amor Satyr / Nechung 7 Ritmo Actual / Toma Kami / Speed Oddity vol.II 8 Ecstatic dance / Vardae / The Kaipos EP 9 Odd / EM + STAV / Endless 10 Tunnel / Ghost Warrior / Fracture EP 12 Göbekli Tepe / CAIV / DWELLERS EP 13 Subspark / Aa Sudd / Pushedd 14 Deconstructor / Felix K / Die Verachtung 15 Run / Sully / UH-02 16 Orange Sunshine / Stakka & K.Tee / The Speed of Sound 17 napar / dadan karambolo / deers by bess 18 Multidimensional / Oscean / Multirays 19 Brahma Kamal / Space Drum Meditation / SDM005 20 Phaya Naga (INN Remix) / Sunju Hargun / Mooping Cuts #1 (Re-Meows) 21 Endless Vanishing Point / Marco Shuttle MSP01 22 Clastic / Vigliensoni / Clastic Music 23 Özlem / Konduku / Mantis 0910

We premiere some fresh new music from dance music pioneer Detroits Filthiest, as they return to Casa Voyager with selection of jazzy, drum and bass, electro, bassy, ghetto type cuts. We premiere the first offering from the EP entitled ‘Perception Of Reality' which draws on 90's hip-hop nostalgia while intertwining vintage liquid drum and bass influences. Detroit's Filthiest went by many names in the past, DJ Nasty, Digitek, 313 Bass Mechanics were some of his aliases in the '90s. During this time he was part of a movement from Detroit that established ghettotech as a DJ-style as well as an electronic music genre. In 2015 he re-entered the game as Detroit's Filthiest and in 2017 he collaborated with Sinistarr on ‘Yo Speakerz. His ‘Honor Among Thieves EP' in 2018 provided yet another Detroit infused hit with ‘Funky Sperm' which amassed over 900,000 plays. Detroit's Filthiest's return to Casa Voyager encapsulates a multi-genre approach to an otherwise cohesive EP. ‘Accept No Substitute' follows his 2021 release for the label, ‘Imitated Never Duplicated'. Once again he fuses both jazzy and bassy D&B, Electro, Breaks and Ghettotech stylings like no other. Probably the ultimate Detroit's Filthiest record on Casa Voyager. ‘Perceptions Of Reality' leans on jittering breakbeats, cavernous bass, drifting pads, and synth-lines that reek of 90's west-coast nostalgia. Perception of Reality is soothing and comforting, and for one reason or another makes me want to buy a corvette, just so I could listen to this track with the roof down. To celebrate Soma's electro sub label @avoidantrecords new vinyl release ‘Dark Planet', we have invited new Avoidant artist, DJ Godfather! Listen here: https://avoidant.fanlink.to/darkplanet With techno originally hailed as The House Sound of Detroit - there's no denying the motor city has its own definitive genre: Ghetto Tech. A true pioneer of the sound, DJ Godfather, like so many in Detroit was inspired by local radio - WJLB, The Electrifying Mojo and Jeff ‘The Wizard' Mills - but for Brian Jeffries, aka DJ Godfather, it was scratch DJs, hip hop and DMC battles that kick-started his love for turntablism. Playing house parties and teen clubs as a 15-year-old, DJ Godfather quickly learned how to keep a dancefloor hot - and having actually purchased The Wizards' turntables from the man Jeff Mills himself, DJ Godfather honed his craft. At 17 he found himself playing downtown bars and gigs in the suburbs, before taking off to warehouse raves and illegal parties, like those at Detroit's Packard Plant. An intimidating force behind the decks, he's known to drop 60-to-70 records in a one hour DJ set, with plenty of flair, beat juggling and Detroit hustle in between. With his first solo record coming through the Twilight ‘76 label he set up in 1994, DJ Godfather would go on to establish the Databass imprint - still going strong with 150-plus releases - along with a specialised set of sub-labels including Juke Trax and D.E.T. Only. For more than 25 years now DJ Godfather has been an advocate for ghetto tech at large, consistently drawing the biggest daytime crowd year-for-year at Detroit's Movement Festival - uniting juke and jit dancers alike - while also exploring a myriad of genres like Miami bass, footwork, electro and more. Hooking up with the likes of Keith Tucker, Andrea Parker and DJs Deeon, Detroit Grand Pubahs and Fat Boy Slim over the years, it was only in 2020 that he saw the release of his 44 track debut solo album, Electro Beats For Freaks. Following that up in 2021 with a 46-track second LP titled This Thing Of Ours, and the 2022 D3T.3L3CTR0 album - DJ Godfather never loses faith in how his music can bring different people and genres together. “To me ghetto tech is a culture; mixing techno, house, electro, and booty records to create one vibe,” he says. “I do ghetto tech records because it's me. My one music that I'm passionate about. Love.” Tracklist via -Spotify: http://bit.ly/SRonSpotify -Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/Slam_Radio/ -Facebook: bit.ly/SlamRadioGroup Archive on Mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/slam/ Subscribe to our podcast on -iTunes: apple.co/2RQ1xdh -Amazon Music: amzn.to/2RPYnX3 -Google Podcasts: bit.ly/SRGooglePodcasts -Deezer: bit.ly/SlamRadioDeezer Keep up with SLAM: fanlink.to/Slam Keep up with Soma Records: fanlink.to/SomaRecords For syndication or radio queries: harry@somarecords.com & conor@glowcast.co.uk Slam Radio is produced at www.glowcast.co.uk

This Saturday we're getting into the wild world of techno dance music! 30 Minutes of 160+ BPMs of all Bass, Electronic & Juke music from Dj Godfather, Dj Slugo, Waxmaster, Dj Rashad & more!
DJ Godfather (Brian Jeffries) is one of the founding fathers of the Detroit Ghettotech scene. Godfather started DJing at the age of 15 and within a few months was already playing in clubs and after-hour parties across the Motor City. By the age of 17 DJ Godfather had started making music and a year later, released his first solo record on Twilight 76 (the label he started with DJ Dick and Brian Gillespie). The creation of other labels followed, including the influential Databass, which he revived in 2018. With a career spanning nearly 3 decades, Godfather continues to deliver the goods as well as supporting new Detroit talent, as his Godfather moniker implies. Last year Godfather dropped his 'Electro Beats For Freaks' 44 track bombshell, well, he's back, this time with a brand new 46 track 'This Detroit Thing Of Ours' album, featuring singles and collaborations with some of the very best in the business. The album features 46 tracks and like his last album, they segue into one another, until the series of EPs on vinyl (and digital) which will follow featuring full length versions and different mixes of some of the album's tracks. DJ Godfather (Brian Jeffries) is one of the founding fathers of the Detroit Ghetto Tech scene, but has gone on to be so much more over a career that spans almost 3 decades. For those wanting an insight into Ghetto Tech, head to track 38, 'It's Ghetto Tech' featuring Dan Diamond which draws a line under the many questions posed to Godfather over the years about the genre. The album also includes three scratch tracks, '1200's Are Lit', 'Table Terrorist' and the even more aptly named 'Assassin On The Decks' as this king of turntablism keeps the culture alive. The album throws up even more variety with Electro, Techno and House beats making an appearance alongside collaborations with DJ Deeon, Goodmoney G100, King Saaidi, Gettoblaster & Missy, Lil Mz 313, Ricky Burns, JPE, Parkhouse and Dan Diamond. Starlight Thursdays Episode 79 Queen Bean takes us away with her Booty Shakin' Ghetto Tech Mix. 2 years behind the decks playing at house parties, Forest Creatures, Montana Magic, Tickle My Fancy, and Grease Camp she's cultivated a style many of us have been excited to hear. Her brother has been a major inspiration and influence on her DJing. Do you know Saganist? (if not check out episodes 68,48 and 29) The two of them were raised in Great Falls together and pack a wealth of talent between the fine art work she creates and DJing, his live music, production and mixing. Hopefully we'll hear a back to back project out of them at some point. She's a part of the Grease Camp 2012 crew and most often you'll catch her playing techno and house but in this mix she takes a turn down a road of Ghetto Tech, with some Hip Hop, and Breaks aimed to please. A few words from the Woman herself Queen Bean's Booty Shakin' Ghetto Tech Mix is my first recorded mix that taps into my growing love for that old school Detroit sound. The fast repetition and breaky bass always gets me to dance. The crude and risqué undertones brings out the freak in all of us. This mix is about getting down and dirty and letting that freak flag fly. Thank you for having me on this series and inspiring me to record my first mix! -Queen Bean-

PEG INTERVIEWS ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCER JED JAMES I spent my highschool and early 20's in Detroit where I was introduced to Techno, Jit, Ghetto Tech & Detroit Electro. Thanks to incredible underground record shops Record Time, Melodies and memories and numerous parties every weekend 93-2001 unbeknownst to me at the time I had received a proper education. Fast forwArd to 2011 Columbus OH kevin Brugger aka KGB started doing monthly bar events but we both hated the bars isn't where the music we played belonged. So we started travelling every weekend to chicago or detroit to go to underground parties because nobody was even thinking of doing them here come late 2013 early we threw our first warehouse parties which eventually became Midwest Fresh which we did every month from Aug 2014 to Oct 2019 MixCloud https://www.mixcloud.com/jed-james/ SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/jed-james-575226062 https://www.instagram.com/tv/CQbtqVND1zt/?utm_medium=copy_link https://www.instagram.com/tv/CPySnfpDhPO/?utm_medium=copy_link https://www.instagram.com/tv/CO2Jo_Cjec0/?utm_medium=copy_link --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/phantom-electric/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/phantom-electric/support

Hello Dear Friends, ESOA Podcast 18 calls and comes with my dear old friend and DJ colleague EMU. Emu started in 1998 in a nice community of the Sumpf Squad Crew. Because of his fast handicraft mixing and scratching he quickly became regionally known and in the course of this he quickly got a residence in the old "Club Achtermai" and Seilfabrik in Zwickau. His sound spectrum has always been influenced by names such as Bad Boy Bill, Takkyu Ishino or DJ Godfather and therefore clearly moves somewhere between Ghettotech, Chicago and Detroit. Depth EP by Depht ModBONNE ÉMISSION
Maggotron - That's My Man Throwing Extended Edit By Mr. Turner Free DL Here: https://hypeddit.com/track/8c6tc1 Maggotron (born James McCauley, and also known as DXJ, Maggozulu 2, Planet Detroit and Bass Master Kahn) is one of the pioneers of Bass music. He uses samples from many sources, and is influenced by Parliament, Funkadelic and Earth Wind and Fire among others. In 2000, he worked together with his former engineer Bass Mekanik on the album Bass Alien – Tales from the Lo-Zone. In 2001, he mixed and compiled a CD featuring Miami bass classics for empirewerks music: Super Bass – Original Old School Booty Shakers. The same year, his compilation Electro Jamz from the Vaults of Jamron Records brought Miami bass and electro tracks from his early days as a producer and performer. Due to pressure from Pandisc Records, the humour in his later work for Pandisc became less notable. DXJ's earlier work was characterised by its humorous approach, which can also be seen in his use of pseudonyms. Musically, DXJ's music is characterised by its use of electro/bass beats and rock guitars, as well as vocal samples from all kinds of sources. Cultural and ethnic diversity are also part of the fabric of Maggotron's sound. Men and women of various nationalities have helped work to achieve the sound that Maggotron is noted for. Internationally known, DXJ'S Contributions to Miami Bass, Electro or Street Music has influenced Break beat, Crunk, Ghetto Tech and other genres of music. Miami Bass/Electro itself is a hybrid branch of the Hip Hop /Electro Music genre/style.

Eps 1 D-Strong aka Invincible Son D-Strong is One of those artists that should have been a household name years ago, but for some reason hip hop doesn't work that way. If you're not talking about bust downs and how many hoes you have or what style of Molly suits you best, then you're shelved as “other” or the dreaded “Experimental” hip hop nowadays. There's no separation of music anymore, meaning Hip Hop gets an overused title encompassing all that is urban music, while “pop” rappers have a million sub-genre names like trap, LoFi, Ghettotech, House, Electro, garage funk to help define what they do. Be strong and see breath of fresh air and they clustered world of social media accounts and words like “lyricist” being thrown around like hot garbage. we get a chance to sit down and talk to D and find out his take on hip hop rap music Lo-Fi the whole enchilada. It should be interesting. Today’s strain: Gelato. Also, be sure to check out music from D-Strong @ MIXCLOUD MONDAYS available NOW at this link.
