Send us a textA pristine expedition, a desperate billionaire, and an android who studies humans like insects—Prometheus gives us a creation story wrapped in a horror spiral, and we dive straight into the deep end. We open with the curveball: does this actually belong in Alien canon? From the black goo's chaotic mutations to that unforgettable med-pod sequence, we unpack how Ridley Scott trades “truckers in space” for clinical dread without losing the series' body-horror bite.We spend time with David, because Fassbender's performance is the film's moral compass and its moral hazard. His curiosity feels colder than any xeno, and his choices—spiking a drink, testing limits—mirror the film's larger question: what happens when creation outruns conscience? From there we track the branching biology of LV-223, the hammerpedes, the proto-xenomorph “deacon,” and why those outcomes read like a parallel strain rather than a single neat origin. That framing lets us connect the Engineers to LV-426 without forcing contradictions, keeping the franchise's mystery alive. The conversation also hits the big ideas the movie can't stop chasing: stolen fire, makers who fail their creations, and a scientist who keeps her cross because an answer only opens a bigger door. We weigh fan frustration against a growing cult appreciation, spotlight the ensemble (Theron, Elba, Rapace), and call out the moments that strain logic while still serving theme. If you love Alien for the dread and the design but stayed for the questions, this one's for you.Enjoy the episode, then tell us where Prometheus lands in your franchise ranking. Tonight's Triple Feature brings together three wildly different but thematically connected films: Happy Gilmore 2, Heads of State, and The Thursday Murder Club. Netflix leads with Happy Gilmore 2, directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) and marking Adam Sandler's return to his most iconic role in a sequel that blends nostalgia with heart. Amazon Prime counters with Heads of State, an action-comedy from Ilya Naishuller (Nobody) starring John Cena and Idris Elba as unlikely political partners, mixing campaign satire with explosive buddy-movie energy. Rounding things out is Netflix's adaptation of Richard Osman's bestseller The Thursday Murder Club, helmed by Chris Columbus and headlined by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley in what looks to be the start of a cozy-crime franchise. Critics call Happy Gilmore 2 a fun if uneven revival, Heads of State a brash but entertaining streaming-era crowd-pleaser, and The Thursday Murder Club charming and faithful, if leisurely paced. Together, these films explore the comedy and drama of second chances and reinvention—whether it's Sandler's aging golfer taking another swing, Cena and Elba finding common ground in chaos, or a group of retirees proving that friendship and wit never go out of style.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

How do we feel about this vibe? This is the energetic ask of humanity as we embark in creating the new Earth rooted in love. It's about being so rooted in your capacity to love yourself first that you radiate that vibration outward with such gusto that you become a magnet for those that are walking the path themselves. Love is the path forward, it's the "how" we ge through to the other side in this time and place that hurts. Elba and I know what it's like to be in a place around people that are not for us - and why it's so important to take action as early as you can so that it doesn't then impact your entire being and mission of why you came here. A proud Mexican-American woman, a daughter of immigrants, Elba teaches brown women how to hold their own in the workplace and to know their worth. I must've been a kid when I first heard the palindrome “Able I was ere I saw Elba”. Napoleon didn't mean a lot to me at the time. “Elba” meant even less. Decades later, I had learned a little more about Napoleon and his time there, but not that all that much it turns out. And then came Mark Braude's The Invisible Emperor: Napoleon on Elba from Empire to Exile (Penguin Press, 2018)… This unexpected and absorbing book delves into the story of Napoleon's exile on the island of Elba following his abdication in 1814. After his escape and return to France for the “100 Days,” Napoleon was, of course, finally defeated at Waterloo in 1815. The Invisible Emperor explores a period in between the “bigger-ticket” events with which readers may be more familiar, a time and space in which Napoleon at once out of sight and more in contact with everyday people than perhaps at any other point in his career. Written in multiple short chapters comprising four parts that follow the seasons of Bonaparte's ten-month stay on Elba, The Invisible Emperor reconsiders the Napoleonic legend from the point of view of a moment of relative quiet in a modest setting. Carefully researched and a pleasure to read, it challenges aspects of the towering historical figure's mythology. The space, timeline, and scale of this history may be small, but this is a Napoleon we don't typically hear about. Presented in a narrative rich with curious details and a surprising intimacy, The Invisible Emperor manages to humanize an epic history and life about which so much has been written over the past two centuries. Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss Napoleon Bonaparte's temporary return to power in France in 1815, following his escape from exile on Elba . He arrived with fewer than a thousand men, yet three weeks later he had displaced Louis XVIII and taken charge of an army as large as any that the Allied Powers could muster individually. He saw that his best chance was to pick the Allies off one by one, starting with the Prussian and then the British/Allied armies in what is now Belgium. He appeared to be on the point of victory at Waterloo yet somehow it eluded him, and his plans were soon in tatters. His escape to America thwarted, he surrendered on 15th July and was exiled again but this time to Saint Helena. There he wrote his memoirs to help shape his legacy, while back in Europe there were still fears of his return.
