Ed Sheeran BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Ed Sheeran has been quite active in recent days, with several significant developments making headlines. Most notably, the global pop star performed an exclusive secret concert in Dublin on Monday night, November 4th, at the Royal Dublin Society. This special show celebrated his achievement as a 14-time member of Spotify's Billions Club, with approximately two thousand of his top fans selected based on their listening data on the platform attending the intimate performance. The singer-songwriter, who has Irish roots through his father's Belfast heritage and his mother's County Wexford background, reminded fans of his deep connection to Ireland, stating it's "a special place for me musically. I feel this is where it all began." He performed his signature set featuring just his acoustic guitar and loop pedal for under ninety minutes, opening with his recent single "Sapphire" and running through massive hits including "Shape of You," "The A Team," "Castle on the Hill," "Bad Habits," "Thinking Out Loud," "Perfect," and "I See Fire."On the touring front, Ed Sheeran has just been confirmed as a headliner for Capital's Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard, taking place December 6th and 7th at The O2 in London. He'll perform on opening night alongside RAYE, Anne-Marie, Leigh-Anne, Rizzle Kicks, Mimi Webb, Moliy, Sonny Fodera, and emerging artist Alessi Rose. Tickets go on sale November 7th at nine a.m. on the Global Player app, with exclusive presale access for Global iD members starting November 6th. Barclaycard customers receive ten percent discounts on tickets.Additionally, Ed continues to make waves beyond music. The British artist recently praised Prime Minister Keir Starmer's government for announcing immediate and long-term funding for music education, following an open letter he submitted calling for such support. This advocacy effort through his Ed Sheeran Foundation, established in January, has contributed to the first changes in the UK school curriculum regarding music education in ten years, representing significant long-term impact on educational policy.Career-wise, Ed remains on top of the industry. His eighth studio album "Play" continues performing strongly, with its number one single "Azizam" having topped the charts for five consecutive weeks. With over two hundred million records sold worldwide, he maintains his position as one of the biggest artists globally, further solidifying his status as an entertainment powerhouse.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

To celebrate 2024, we're taking a look backwards, and diving into the standout thinkers who have taken to the Intelligence Squared stage in the past 12 months. You might still be on the hunt for that perfect gift for the avid reader in your life, or perhaps you're after some food for thought over the festive period. Either way, this 12 episode mini series will highlight the books that shaped 2024. We hope you'll join us in 2025 for more events that intrigue, fascinate and entertain. Jordan Stephens' life during his teenage years and his twenties was a whirlwind. As one half of the hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks, his days were full of success, fame and adulation as Rizzle Kicks' debut sold over 1 million singles and 600,000 albums in 2012. But for Jordan, success brought pain in its wake: a hidden pattern of self-harm, hedonism, destructive ideas of masculinity, and heartbreak. Diagnosed with ADHD, he was always chasing the elusive feeling of love and continually found himself distracted and derailed by drugs, drink, sex and chaos. After his world imploded, Jordan chose to step away from his previous life completely and allowed himself to finally explore the pain he'd repressed his entire life.  His new memoir Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak & Dogs unsparingly digs into the fear, tenderness and trauma he carried. And it examines the confusing assumptions and contradictions about what a man should be that Jordan – and increasing numbers of young men today – struggle with. Jordan came to the Intelligence Squared stage in August 2024 where, in conversation with comedian, satirist, actor and Instagram sensation Munya Chawawa, he reflected on his own life experiences as he explores how we can encourage men to have a healthier and more loving conception of masculinity. After reaching the heights of success so quickly, it all came crumbling down for Rizzle Kicks when Harley's anxiety left him incapable of performing. Now, almost ten years later, Rizzle Kicks are back! - and I was lucky enough to chat to them about the journey from then to now…Known as the quiet one, Harley opens up for the first time in a public space about his battles with his mental health, his OCD and how he found a way out of the dark space he was in that led to the break in the music. Jordan also discusses his journey from that time, and how, in retrospect, he can see how their instant success warped their sense of achievement. He's since released music as a solo artist, starred in various TV and film projects, published a children's book, and now he's written a memoir: Avoidance, Drugs, Heartbreak and Dogs. Jordan Stephens is in the studio today angels and this is defo one of our favourite chats to date – you are going to absolutely love this one! Jordan shot to fame as a teenager as one half of Rizzle Kicks, they disbanded in 2016 and he went on to pursue a super successful, incredibly varied career, from actor and painter to children's book author (as well as still releasing music ofc). We sat down at Brixton Village studios to debrief on the rise of Rizzle Kicks and being thrown into fame overnight as a teenager, from the “delusion” that got him there in the first place, to the wild and ultimately unsustainable partying that came with such success. Jordan gets into what his subsequent five years of sobriety have been like and his myriad talents, including being an actor, and his views on everything from Penn Badgley's no intimacy rule for filming, to Andrew Tate and toxic misogyny. Plus, why he absolutely loves how famous his partner, Jade Thirwall from Little Mix, is, how they complement each other, their creative intimacy, and their plans when it comes to getting married and having children. Thank you to Huel for supporting this episode. If you have a loved one who is struggling with the school system, show them that it's not the be all in life, there are thousands of professions we all know people who are making money doing nothing that that was taught in school. They need reminding. Also that they are strange for not knowing what they want to do for the rest of their life aged 15! Not many people do! Make sure your child hasn't had his confidence knocked at school especially if he's dyslexic, we hide it well, looking back on my life I realised I had the belief it's better to be the naughty kid than to feel stupid kid Show them spoken word, grime, rap film studies if they aren't engaged with English and see it this engages them. Young adults open up and are so much more engaged if you show your vulnerability abs any hardship with them first otherwise they can just think you're one of them, what do you know! If you don't know where you're going or what it why, Then taken that one next step and following your curiosity is always enough, this is where your joy will be. Listen go the friends you meet, the trips you want to go on and it will unfold. Quite often travelling and going away is the most amazing mission and self discovery but the change and what mark you can make of the world will be at home! Musician, writer and actor, Jordan Stephens, opens up to Linda about a pivotal moment in his life where he admits he self destructed in a relationship. The consequences of which led him to explore the impact of delayed grief after the death of his beloved Gran, deep rooted fears of abandonment and the importance of recognising, addressing and ultimately feeling entitled to your emotions. The pair also discuss the influence of expectation on creativity and whether this is a driving force or a negative drain on creative energies. Jordan found fame at a young age as one part of the hip hop duo, Rizzle Kicks and - amongst other projects - has since gone on to be an influential voice in mental health with his charity work through I AM WHOLE. The #IAMWHOLE campaign aims to encourage young people to challenge harmful language and negative stigma surrounding mental health and encourage others to speak out and seek help. Thank you to Jordan for being so open with us and sharing his thoughts and experiences. You can check out Jordan's own podcast Whole Truth on Apple Podcasts and his recent acting work in Don't Hate The Playaz on ITV2. This episode was sponsored by Esquared.
