Join Jim Boardman and Jay Reid as they soak in the incredible atmosphere enveloping the city of Liverpool ahead of a monumental Bank Holiday weekend. The city is buzzing with events, from Radio One's Big Weekend to cruise liners docking, but most important of all it's the final game of the season - a formality to go through before that long-awaited trophy lift, ahead of the victory parade through the city's streets on Monday. For Jay, that trophy lift is an especially poignant moment; it's the first time in his lifetime he'll witness Liverpool lift the league trophy at Anfield – a ticket he wouldn't sell for any price. It's the first time the Reds have lifted the league trophy in front of fans at Anfield for 35 years, so a large chunk of the Liverpool support are in the same boat. Two of the greatest centre-backs in football history will be on the pitch as the trophy gets lifted, with true club legend Alan Hansen set to present the trophy to future club legend Virgil Van Dijk, adding to the symbolism of the occasion. Jurgen Klopp will be there too, keeping to his promise of coming back but not in a way that would interfere with the work of Arne Slot. No surprise he's there; he's as big a fan as any of us, and every fan wants to be there. If only - but Anfield, as big as it now is, can't possibly contain every Red who wants to be there on Sunday. In fact, if estimates of how many people are heading into the city for the weekend are true, 16 Anfields wouldn't be enough. No problem though; the city is ready to showcase its unique, welcoming spirit and show how it throws a party, as the Reds' heroes show that trophy off from the top of a bus! The last match itself sees Liverpool host Crystal Palace. With both teams in a celebratory mood (Palace fresh from their own FA Cup triumph), Jay and Jim are wondering if it's even worth bothering with the footy itself. Jim and Jay reflect on a season where Liverpool exceeded expectations to clinch that title, but with transfer windows set to open, work needs to be done to ensure new expectations are met. No Red expected Slot to be so successful so soon - but all Reds want more of the same. The hosts briefly discuss some of the transfer rumours swirling around potential incomings like Frimpong and Kerkez, and possible departures including the respected Joe Gomez and potentially Darwin Nunez. Since the show was recorded, rumours about Florian Wirtz leaving Germany for Merseyside have gathered pace, but until he's had his photo holding up his new shirt, Jay and Jim are assuming nothing. There's also discussion on manager Arne Slot's latest press conference, particularly his comments on Trent Alexander-Arnold's training and defensive application, and how the media has portrayed this. The hosts touch on how Trent might be received and the importance of focusing on the collective celebration. What advice would the hosts give Arne, if he asked, on how to handle this last bit with Trent? As for that victory parade, the hosts offer some tips for fans wanting to catch a glimpse of the champions. It's a time to savour the moment, celebrate a hard-won title, and look forward to what the future holds for the Reds. As always, there's plenty to laugh about from across the park, although you aren't likely to find any of them there as the A55 clogs up under the weight of a blue-tinged exodus to North Wales. Sunday will also mark the final match for George Sephton, the iconic 'Voice of Anfield'. His voice has boomed around Anfield for decades, since the days the Reds were winning titles almost every season. He really is and has been part of Anfield - he's been there for the good times and the bad, and it really won't be the same without him. Thanks for everything, George, from all of us. In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie analyse Arsenal's 4-2 defeat to Brighton on Monday that leaves them needing a point against Manchester United on the final day to seal 2nd place. They talk about Arsenal's issues with Brighton's press, familiar vulnerabilities to pace and power through the middle of the team, as well as the trade-off between greater fluidity and chance creation under Renee Slegers but greater vulnerability to counter-attacks. In the second half, there are questions about the goalkeeping situation, how to defend better against counter attacks and whether there is a mentality issue with conceding goals in clusters.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast. Spring cleaning is in the air - so whether you've woken up with the urge to clear out the ‘drawer of doom' this Bank Holiday, are feeling too overwhelmed or time poor (or both) to know where to start, or have just decided to ‘bless the mess', join us as we take a deep dive into decluttering, our relationship to our stuff and the impact clutter can have on our lives. Presenter Nuala McGovern is joined by two of the UK's leading professional organisers, Ingrid Jansen and Lesley Spellman from The Declutter Hub. They'll be exploring why it's our emotions that hold the key to banishing things that no longer serve a purpose in our lives, along with sharing their best advice for conquering clutter. TV presenter, writer and Homes Therapist Michelle Ogundehin takes a break from judging Interior Design Masters to talk to Nuala about the connection between our home and our wellbeing, her personal wardrobe strategy and her love of curated things that tell our story. The Good Housekeeping Decluttering Study has just been published and the magazine's Homes and Household Advice Editor Katie Mortram tells us what it reveals about our attitudes to clutter and some of our biggest regrets. And we hear about the birth of ‘clutter', from the Victorian obsession with doilies to the impact of the wartime Make Do and Mend message, with Professor Jane Hamlett, a historian of the home. Have you heard about The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning? We'll be exploring the philosophy from Margareta Magnusson's 2018 book, which encourages you to deal with your stuff before you die, so that someone else doesn't have to do it after you've left this earth. Psychotherapist and author Stelios Kiosses, from Channel 4 programme The Hoarder Next Door, also joins us to explore the psychology behind why we hang on to stuff and the difference between hoarding and being a compulsive hoarder. And with all the will in the world, no clear out will succeed without an 'exit plan'. From recycling to selling, we discuss the best ways to pass our things on. Presenter: Nuala McGovern Producer: Sarah Jane Griffiths Editor: Deiniol Buxton

Superintendent Liam Geraghty and Clare McGrath, Chairperson of Water Safety Ireland discuss being safe this Bank Holiday.
We're with a manager set to smash records this weekend as he hopes his Bury side can do enough in front of a bumper crowd to gain promotion to Step 4. Dave McNabb has had many highs and lows in his career as a coach, and a bigger football man would struggle to find but, the potential of turning his phone off on Sunday has quite some appeal. We also return to the National South again this week. Marc White's side are adrift of the top spots, but that means nothing in this division this season, with many twists and turns to come, two home games and a trip to second-placed rivals are between them and the end of the season but he's very ready for whatever the next chapter may be. In a busy news week, Jon Couch helps round up the week's news and helps preview the Non League Paper out this Bank Holiday weekend.
After this morning's downpour, many of us are left wondering — is this a taste of what's to come for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend?
