She started playing basketball at the age of 5, which sparked her love for the game and set her on a path to take what she learned on the court and apply it to her life. After becoming an owner of a professional Women's Team at the age of 23, she dedicated her career to serving the community she loves, growing the game, and expanding her impact.

St. Louis CITY SC shared the club's involvement in Great Rivers Greenway newest Brickline Greenway segment alongside project collaborators. Efforts include building a one-mile stretch between STL CITY SC's stadium and Harris Stowe State University, as well as bringing to life an experiential art exhibit commemorating the former Mill Creek Valley neighborhood, a historic Black neighborhood demolished in the 1950s, that is within the boundaries of the stadium. Within the soccer stadium's southwest plaza and alongside the Brickline Greenway trailway, there will be sculptures on permanent display from St. Louis artist Damon Davis that honor and acknowledge the historic Black neighborhood, Mill Creek Valley. As the Owner and General Manager of the St. Louis Surge, Khalia has taken on the challenge of building the first sustainable women's professional franchise. A St. Louis native with a deep commitment to the city, Khalia is taking the city by surge! In this episode: Khalia tells us about how entrepreneurship not only runs in her family but also how she got her start as an entrepreneur at an early age, from selling things door-to-door and cold calling to selling cars for Plaza Motors just to name a few to start with. For Khalia, entrepreneurially thinking means to her, creating a vision that you can scan. Khalia explains how she purchased a professional women's basketball team at 23 years old.
