We take a look at what appears to be a “boob comedy” from the year 2000: Road Trip, directed by Todd Phillips, who makes Joker movies now. It's the heartwarming story of Josh (Breckin Meyer), a Boring Guy who cheats on his girlfriend but doesn't mean it. Josh and his pals E.L. (Seann William Scott), Rubin (Paulo Costanzo), and Kyle (D.J. Qualls) do the only thing that make sense: They head across the country on a road trip to keep Boring Guy Josh's girlfriend from finding out about his betrayal. And, you know what, this movie's pretty okay! But we try to figure out why Todd Phillips says he's not allowed to make movies like Road Trip anymore because of Woke. Also, we try to get to the bottom of Tom Green. Bonus video: We talk about our favorite road trips from movies. Stedman to talk all about their new book "Soundwriting: A Guide to Making Audio Projects" (published by Broadview Press)! Right away, the three get into a conversation about how to create podcasts in the college classroom. This is such a meta ITBR episode since Andrew uses this podcast as an example of one genre of podcasting. They discuss the different genres of podcasts, how to understand your target audience, and whether students should make their podcast projects public or private? Andrew explains when to monetize a podcast and asks Tanya and Kyle how they navigate issues concerning explicit content, language, and controversial topics with their students. This is definitely the "inside baseball (podcasting)" episode that you all have been asking for! So many have reached out to Andrew and Mary (the host of True Crime in Academia) asking for podcast advice...first, listen to this episode! Far too often, Bible translators work alone—apart from fellow missionaries, local believers, and the church. In this interview, Kyle D. of Bible Translation Fellowship explains why that must change. Kyle is the founder and executive director of BTF. He and his wife Hannah are in the process of relocating to South Africa, where Kyle will lead BTF and labor as a Bible Translation Consultant. His education includes a B.A. in Philosophy and Organizational Leadership, M.A. in Bible Translation, M.A. in Biblical Counseling, M.Div., and a Th.M. in New Testament.
