It's officially time for October baseball! The 1st wildcard games were played yesterday and the excitement is building as we inch closer to the ALDS on Saturday. Pitching impressed yesterday in most of the games and while the Mariners may not have top tier talent like Skubal and Crochet, they have 4 starters who sit on the tier just below that, something no other team has. :30- It's time for a look at the AFC as we sit at the quarter pole of the season: - What is going on with Baltimore? It looks like they gave up on Sunday and now Lamar Jackson is out for 3 weeks. Are they questioning themselves? Will they rally to win a division that weaker with the Joe Burrow injury? - Several AFC teams seem primed to de-throne the Chiefs as the darlings of the west. Will it be the Chargers or Broncos? - The South is up for grabs, but who will step up? :45- ABCs of the Mariners - A is for Arozarena: he might be the biggest wild card after being ice cold the last month or so and he's been known to step up his game when the lights are the brightest. Another week of a ton of football in the books! The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys rolled a hell of a Sunday Night Football game that ended in a hotly contested tie in Micah Parsons return to Dallas. The Philadelphia Eagles, behind a great first half from Jalen Hurts, remain undefeated after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield. AJ Brown, while being targeted 9 times, dropped an interesting quote on social media after the game. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs got back to being themselves with the return of Xavier Worthy but the Baltimore Ravens look lost, especially with Lamar Jackson suffering a hamstring injury. Jaxson Dart and the Giants handed the Chargers their first lost, the Texans got a win and the Steelers won in Ireland. Plenty of talk on those football games from Chris, Beau and Nate...AND MORE! Andy Riesmeyer closes out the night with updates on singer D4vd's ongoing case and comedian Nate Bargatze's Emmy bit gone wrong. Andy then plays audio from his KTLA slang segment, chatting with a younger voice about California's trending lingo before warning listeners about what not to order on airplanes. Later, he digs into the $2 million Runyon Canyon upgrade, including the controversial $1 million bathrooms, and how locals fear it could change the Hollywood oasis. Andy wraps with cross talk alongside George Noory and a look at the coolest cities around the world, as ranked by TimeOut, and declared his fanaticism for the LA Chargers.
Send us a textAll eyes are on Jaxson Dart this week as the rookie QB gets his first real test against a tough Chargers defense. Drop your thoughts in the comments—will Dart rise to the challenge or struggle against one of the NFL's best defenses? This week's matchup has drama everywhere. Gano hits IR, forcing the Giants to bring in Younghoe Koo to the practice squad. Koo's track record with the Falcons has been solid, though he was recently cut after a rough Week 1. His addition could prove crucial as special teams take on added importance in what looks to be a defensive slugfest. Jude McAtamney also remains in the mix, giving the Giants multiple options at kicker moving forward.LA comes in at 3-0, riding strong wins over the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos. Herbert is sharp, with 860 yards and six TDs already, while rookie Omarion Hampton is trying to hold down the run game after Najee Harris went down. The real danger lies in the receiving trio of Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Keenan Allen—each already finding the end zone multiple times this season. The offensive line is banged up, however, which could give the Giants' pass rushers an opportunity to make Herbert uncomfortable.Defensively, the Chargers have been elite. They allow just 16.7 points per game, rank 2nd in pass defense efficiency, and are lights out in the red zone with a league-best 25% scoring rate. Derwin James is playing at an All-Pro level, while LB Daiyan Henley is proving disruptive. With Khalil Mack out, the Chargers' sack production may dip, but their ability to generate takeaways and tighten up in the red zone makes them one of the toughest units in football.Keys to victory are clear: establish the run game—including Dart as a dual threat—pressure Herbert into mistakes, and get Nabors heavily involved in the passing attack. Limiting penalties and playing clean football will also be critical in keeping this game within reach. This is the moment for Jaxson Dart to prove he belongs under the lights.Thank you for watching & for your support. 0:00 - We've got a show to do, but first, let's make fun of dumb questions that our media brethren sometimes ask. After that, Sean Payton is nothing if not petty. He knows that the LA Chargers offloaded Dobbins. You KNOW he's reminding Dobbins of that every single day to use as motivation. Expect Dobbins to get lots of carries on Sunday. 16:15 - Word on the street is Kaidon Salter will get the start for CU on Saturday. Prime is going back to Salter. This feels like one last chance to salvage the season. If they lose to Wyoming with him at the helm, it's time for Prime to punt on the season and develop Julian Lewis. 37:27 - Is Jim Harbaugh the greatest football coach of all time? Colin Cowherd thinks so.
Chris recaps the Monday Night Football action from Week 2, breaking down the doubleheader. The LA Chargers laid claim to the best team in the AFC West with their defeat of the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh are absolutely clicking in their second season together while Geno Smith and Pete Carroll have stumbled since their week 1 victory. Baker Mayfield led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a furious comeback against the Houston Texans with a game winning touchdown in the final moments as they look like a team that can make a deep play run. 00:00 - Chargers Defeat Raiders 19:57 - Bucs Beat Texans Have some interesting takes, some codebreaks or just want to talk to the Green Light Crew?
