Lambent is an adjective that means flickering with a soft radiance.  Our word of the day comes directly from the Latin word for ‘licking,' which was used to describe the flickering of flames. Lambent has been with us since the mid-17th century.  Here's an example: The lambent of our fireplace still looms large in my childhood memories. Those soft, flickering images made me warm on the inside and out.

Han pasado 18 meses desde la caída de Jacinto, cuya finalidad era detener el ataque Locust. A raíz de esto, la CGO se ha desintegrado por completo y los supervivientes de tanto desastre siguen luchando por un único fin: permanecer con vida. Al encontrar una remota isla llamada Vectes para vivir mientras que un enemigo peor que los Locust, los Lambent, que resurgieron tras la caída de los Locust, se esparcen por todo el mundo de Sera, y con el presidente de la COG perdido deciden separarse. We’re back from our brief hiatus with the testosterone soaked conclusion to the Gears of War trilogy. Gears 3 mixes things up by introducing new characters, new baddies, and a post-apocalypse tone, which is odd because Gears World has always been a bit of a hell-scape. After the previous game’s finale only served to make things worse, Marcus and the gang struggle to survive against the new threat of the Lambent, and the ever present Locust horde. To further complicate this three-way war, Marcus’s past is returning to haunt him. Also, Dom has a beard. Gears 3 is really uneven tonally, and a bit of a mess in general. But it’s still a pretty good time. If nothing else, there is loads of explosions!

SHIT YEAH! We started as four. We finished as four. After declaring Gears of War 3 our next game to review in episode six; we have finally completed our quest defeating the Lambent and Queen Myrrah. Ironically, this is Co-Op Mode’s first game where all four guys have actually, well, cooperated.
