For Wednesday's episode of The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee dives deep into a sport that often gets overlooked, which is powerlifting, and what better expert to talk to than one of the best powerlifting coaches in the state in Franklinton High School powerlifting coach John Lambert. Coach Lambert helped start the powerlifting program at Franklinton High School, and now, it is one of the best programs in the state. Coach Lambert is also most known for helping LaRon Landry bulk up to become one of the most impressive looking "Iron Men" in the NFL when he was coaching at Hahnville High School. Besides coaching powerlifting, Coach Lambert was a football coach as well and coached for some of the best high school football coaches in the state over the last 30 seasons including for Larry Dauterive at East St. John High School, Lou Valdin at Hahnville High School, and Hank Tierney at Archbishop Shaw to name a few. Coach Lambert tells Lee stories about what he has seen over his career both coaching football and powerlifting as well as promote the LHSAA Powerlifting State Championships that will be held at ULM's Fant Ewing Coliseum on March 18th-20th.
