The Carolina Panthers are back from the bye week and locked in!
On this episode of Carolina Confidential on the Forecast Sports Network, host Gerrell Wheeler breaks down where the Carolina Panthers stand coming out of the bye week and why the playoff race is suddenly very real in Charlotte. Sitting at 7–6 and ninth in the NFC, the Panthers are tied with Tampa Bay and still have both matchups with the Bucs ahead of them—meaning they fully control their own destiny in the NFC South. Gerrell walks listeners through the current NFC playoff picture, explains why Tampa holds the tiebreaker right now, and breaks down the common-opponent math that has the Bucs narrowly ahead in the standings. From there, Gerrell turns up the urgency for this closing stretch. He explains why losing to the Saints a second time would be inexcusable, why practice habits have to change, and why Bryce Young simply cannot afford another lackluster performance with the playoffs “staring us right in the face.” With four games left—three of them in the division—Gerrell lays out what has to happen for Carolina to snap its playoff drought, what success would really look like the rest of the way, and why Sunday is going to be stressful for every Panthers fan riding this roller coaster to the finish.

Welcome back to The Mouthpiece. This has been a ROUGH Thanksgiving week, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm going crazy! **My Painful Week:** * My recent medical procedure in Seattle was supposed to bring relief, but it's only made my pain WORSE. It's been a really, really rough 7-8 days, and I'm so frustrated. * This pain has kept me from playing poker for THREE WEEKS – the longest drought of my life! I even had to miss a live-stream $30-40k game at The Venetian and turn down a 50% freeroll to the Bahamas. It's driving me F***ING CRAZY! **NFL Betting Nightmare:** * This week was a total disaster! My first losing NFL week in 8 weeks, going 4-6 in pick'em after my dog bets got crushed. * My two best bets, Detroit -10 and Bucs +7, never stood a chance. * The Rams are cursed! I'm now 0-5 betting on them, losing big games where they either blew huge leads or got unbelievably unlucky. Seriously, what is going on? * I had a chance to win $65,000 in a Survivor pool, but Bryce Young is SO BAD! Watching him throw into quadruple coverage on 1st and goal from the 1-yard line was unbelievable. * The Colts' coach is a 'f***ing idiot' for throwing the ball 9 straight times in the 4th quarter with the best running back in the league and blowing an 11-point lead against the Chiefs. That was criminal coaching! * These coaches are terrible! I've never seen worse play-calling. Even the Cardinals' coach couldn't call a timeout on 1st and goal with 25 seconds left! **My Controversial Takes:** * The Patriots are 'drawing dead' for the Super Bowl. They won't win a playoff game – I'll bet anyone 100-1! * Lamar Jackson looks 'absolutely horrible,' and the Ravens will lose to the Bengals this week. * Matthew Stafford is winning MVP – I put down $32,250 on it! Who's going to beat him with 28 straight TDs and 0 picks? * The Eagles are NOT Super Bowl contenders. Their offense is 'anemic,' and their defense is 'horrible.' They're 'drawing dead' to the Rams or Seattle in the playoffs. * F1 is a JOKE! I went on a full-blown rant about how fake, scripted, and ridiculous Formula 1 is. It's the 'dumbest sport I've ever seen.' No passing, just blocking, and a 'horrible spectacle.' **Other Thoughts:** * The Lakers look good! * Bitcoin is doing alright, up to 88! * And don't even get me started on the ridiculousness of gambling corruption in sports history. Looking ahead to Thanksgiving weekend, I'm hoping for some better luck. We'll see what happens with my next procedure and if I can finally get back to the tables! **Join the Conversation!** Call us at 702-329-0480 to share your thoughts, or email MouthpiecePodcast@gmail.com. Whitlock also breaks down how Kiffin's fans treat him the same way they treat Deion Sanders, refusing to acknowledge that their idols can do wrong. Whitlock then breaks down his 10 NFL Truths, covering why Shedeur Sanders is such a terrible leader; how Bryce Young proves why you shouldn't pamper quarterbacks; why the reality of the last four years should not distort the greatness of Aaron Rodgers; and more. Steve Kim and T.J. Moe join the show to talk about why Shedeur Sanders fails to lead his team; Bryce Young's impressive performance in the Panthers' 31-28 win over the Rams; and Deion Sanders committing to turning the University of Colorado football team around.
