(26:04-34:11) – Las Vegas and Seattle are gaining momentum as two potential cities for expansion teams in the NBA. Jake spotlights the history of Seattle with the Supersonics and promotes where you can be tomorrow for the show! (34:11-46:04) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake clarifying that he does not envision the Indiana Pacers leaving the city after speculating what the future of the franchise looks like after Herb Simon. (46:04-1:09:32) – Joel Erickson from the IndyStar joins Query & Company to discuss what the trade value is for Anthony Richardson right now from what he has heard, address Jake’s concern that nobody will acquire Richardson because it would seem the Colts will release him. (1:09:32-1:22:41) – The Indiana Pacers lost their 15th consecutive game last night, remaining the only team that has yet to win since the All-Star Break. Jake and Eddie highlight a couple takeaways from the game and wonder how different the Pacers could look stylistically next season with pairing Ivica Zubac with Tyrese Haliburton and, hopefully, their first round draft pick. (1:22:41-1:31:14) – Hour number two of Query & Company concludes with Jake and Eddie talking about what happened last night in Dayton with Miami keeping its season alive and gaining some fans with their win over SMU. Snow-Maggedon is here and it ain't over yet. The blizzard warning continues until 1pm this afternoon…and then it'll be almost 60° by Friday. Go figure. In the news this morning, the latest on the search for Nancy Guthrie, an outbreak of Norovirus on a Princess cruise ship sickens over 150 people, Target is apparently going to sell less toys in the future, and a recap of last night's Oscars. In sports, the Bucks split the weekend with a loss on Friday and a win yesterday, the Badgers lost to Michigan in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament and still managed to get a five-seed for the NCAA men's bracket, Team USA beat the Dominican Republic at the World Baseball Classic to advance to the championship game, Denny Hamlin wins in Vegas, and Team USA sweeps the hockey gold at the Olympics & Paralympic games! We talked about what's on TV today/tonight and we discussed a recent Reddit thread about movies that are 10/10 with no bad parts. Did you see Dave Grohl at that random BBQ serving up food? A group of dads in Texas got together recently and bought a vehicle for a beloved crossing guard who was using public transportation & rideshares after her car broke down, and another elderly worker is set for life after someone started a GoFundMe for him. Elsewhere in sports, a look at the First Four of the NCAA men's bracket, the Jim Irsay collection sold for a LOT of money, Auston Matthews is out for the season and now the Maple Leafs are asking the NHL to change it's suspension policy, and apparently Ronda Rousey is in the AEW now. If you're looking for a new gig, Pizza Hut is apparently looking for a crust connoisseur. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a golf cart DUI in #Florida, a #FloridaWoman tried to murder her own sister, a woman who ate some homemade fermented swordfish & got botulism, and a reporter in California who had an unexpected guest while doing a live shot.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Iranian state television has broadcast a message in the name of the newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The message was read by an announcer and gave no clue as to the state of the leader's health. Some reports say he was injured on the first day of US and Israeli attacks. In the message, he said Iran would avenge the blood of its martyrs, and continue to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which one fifth of the world's oil passes. We hear from people in Iran, many of whom say they are now living in constant fear. We also report from the US, where public approval for the war with Iran is the lowest at the start of any conflict since the Second World War, with around 41% agreeing with the US decision to attack Iran. In other news, a court in Russia has given life sentences to four men convicted of carrying out one of the worst terrorist attacks of recent years - the mass shooting at a concert hall outside Moscow. Also: an auction of a remarkable collection of legendary guitars - including Kurt Cobain's trademark 1969 Lake Placid blue Fender Mustang and other famous musical instruments, literary artefacts and sporting and film memorabilia - which belonged to the late billionaire American businessman, Jim Irsay. The Global News Podcast brings you the breaking news you need to hear, as it happens. On this episode of Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast, Dan Lust (@SportsLawLust) is joined by Mike Lawson (@Mikesonoflaw) and Landis Barber (@LandisBarber) to reunite for a Mike & Mike edition tackling the latest sports law stories of the week. The team opens with Darien Mensah's NIL lawsuit, dissecting the Duke quarterback's attempt to enter the transfer portal despite an existing NIL agreement, the university's emergency TRO seeking to block his departure, and the confusion surrounding what the court actually permitted. The discussion explores the enforceability of NIL contracts in a post-House settlement world, the growing use of injunctions to preserve the “status quo,” and whether courts are becoming the primary arbiters of roster movement in college sports.Next, the conversation shifts to the San Francisco 49ers' investigation into a nearby electrical substation and whether prolonged exposure to electromagnetic fields could be contributing to the team's unusually high rate of Achilles and soft-tissue injuries. Dan, Mike, and Landis talk causation versus coincidence, workplace safety obligations, and the legal significance of the 49ers publicly acknowledging an internal investigation. The episode then turns to the federal investigation into the death of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, with a breakdown of what it means for federal authorities to reopen scrutiny months later, the unusual circumstances surrounding the death certificate, and the legal challenges of determining causation without an autopsy. From there, the trio dives into the FTC's renewed enforcement of the Sports Agent Responsibility and Trust Act (SPARTA), after the agency sent letters to dozens of universities seeking information about athlete-agent relationships. The discussion focuses on why SPARTA has resurfaced now, how NIL has blurred traditional compliance lines, and whether federal oversight of agents could meaningfully reshape the college sports ecosystem. The episode wraps with Charles Bediako's NCAA eligibility battle, after the former Alabama center secured a TRO allowing him to play despite previously signing a two-way NBA contract. Dan and Landis analyze how courts are steadily eroding the NCAA's professional-amateur distinction, why the line between G League, overseas play, and NBA contracts has become nearly impossible to police, and what this case signals for future challenges by former professional athletes seeking a return to college sports.Let us know your thoughts!***Have a topic you want to write about?
