Gato Maestro at Nash Street Tavern. Probably our best ever gig in our latest incarnation of this band. This recording was created by the house sound maestro, Rainbow, and she did an excellent job. Ben chopped it up and made it indexable by tune. We missed a few songs of the evening due to the length of a standard audio CD. The second set got cut off before our hit 1-2-3, but we did get everything else. Also see the YouTube videos of this gig as well, they are quite good. A large nubmer of people we did not know came from out of nowhere to show up at Nash Street this evening and it gave us a bunch of energy and excitement. Guest performance by Lisa Timberlake on this one.
Gato Maestro at Paul's House. First time getting together with Chase after the winter holidaze. We are playin at Pauls house now and the room has quite a different feeling or vibe to it. We started working our way through the setlist to make sure everything was still intact for the March gig at Nash Street. Also note that we ran Feelin Good in the key for Lisa Timberlake to prepare for her singing it so it was out of range for Chase.
Gato Maestro at Kyle's Parent's House. We played a gig for Kyles Parents 50th wedding anniversary at their house. Lovely folks, some of Gatos biggest fans came out. For the first few songs we had feedback coming from some mystery source and it messed us up quite a bit. This gig was outdoors during a rainstorm, so theres a lot of wind noise. Apologies about that. Doyle Hodgin also sang James Taylors How Sweet It Is to his wife.
Al Green says "Lets Stay Together" and so does Pod Thorn. Sam & Yves explain the Novella that is the Brooklyn Nets. Spoiler Alert, Joe Tsai lives!
Gato Maestro at Nash Street Tavern. So good to be back playing at Nash Street tavern. This venue is kinda where we cut our teeth. I daresay this is one of our best shows ever performing out live anyway. This is the Angel mix. Angel is a sound engineer who works at Nash Street. She runs 2-3 mixes simultaneously when a band is playing. This is the From The Board mix that she captured, with individual microphones. It misses a few songs at the end of the set because of lack of space on the CDs she gave us.
Gato Maestro at Ben's House. I guess we are just on this schedule of once every few months now. It will pick up a bit now that we have a gig booked though! On this rehearsal, we played with Jaime again after not seeing him for a year or so. It was a joy. Then we just did a hodge podge of review from the book. No new songs.

Gato Maestro at Ben's House. We have a gig on 8/5, which is coming up fast. So we have started to dig back deeper into the book and look at tunes we have not played for quite some time. Aside from that, there was a fanastically funky jam with Justin groovin it out on the upper part of the neck on bass, Ben on melodica and Kyle going crazy on the drums, and of course Paul on the shaker. Groove girl and 1-2-3 are both insanely good in this particular rehearsal. Lets Stay Together needed a refresh on the string part for Ben as usual. We also do some unusual things on the form in Mercy Mercy Mercy.

A vow renewal is a special breed of new beginning. It’s not just a restatement of original promises; it’s about a couple reaffirming their love and mutual commitment after years of lived experience. Which is exactly why Cindy Brown and Sharon McMahon chose to do it again and again. Plus, Meredith drops in on a (virtual) mass vow renewal ceremony organized by her alma mater, Syracuse University. Gato Maestro at Ben's House. Getting back in the swing of things. We are covering more material now, making our way back through the book. Obviously we have spent more time on In the Winelight because it is a difficult song to get exactly right. We had some good instrumental moments in this one though, for sure.

In PlanningxChange Episode 75, Jess Noonan and Peter Jewell interview Dr John Stone. John is a Lecturer in Transport Planning in Urban Planning Program in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at Melbourne University. His research seeks to improve public transport performance in Australian cities through a greater understanding of the professional practice and the political and institutional context for public transport planning in similar cities in Canada and in German-speaking Europe. He is currently pursuing opportunities for greater exchange between Australian practitioners and their international counterparts. His research explores the politics, institutions and professional practice that lie behind success or failure in sustainable urban transport. Drawing on practice in many cities around the world, especially Canada and German-speaking Europe, his research has identified many opportunities for more effective and efficient public transport in Australian cities through better service coordination and network design. His current research raises questions about the new technologies and markets for shared and autonomous vehicles. Will these disruptions help us to make the transition to low-carbon urban transport? Since completing his PhD in 2008, his work has been funded through many grants and consultancies including an ARC Discovery Project and a Commonwealth Endeavour Research Fellowship. This follows over 20 years’ experience in transport in Melbourne, including work in local government and the community advocacy. The interview covers his work and raises other issues rarely debated such as are electric vehicles a wise and sensible direction to head? The impacts and influence of covid restrictions on transport choices is another of the many topics discussed. This podcast was produced by Complete Podcasting Services. Episode released 24 February 2021. PlanningxChange is proud to be part of the Urban Broadcast Collective.

Gato Maestro at The Glass Jug Beer Lab. Back-to-back gig with the yearly gig we do at Black Creek. Things were much tighter for this performance, even considering it was on a Thursday night. Everybody was much happier with how we sounded on this particular evening, and luckily Ben managed to get it captured. A tropical storm had just passed through and it was very windy still as a result. Ben also had the recording volume set way too high for the first few songs. Paul had windscreens, but none that fit the Zoom H4n microphones.

A wonderful album showcasing Green's dynamic soul singer whispers, animated cries, and riffing to enhance his already stirring delivery. Prior to this album, Al Green never had a number one song. The title track, "Let's Stay Together," achieved that status and held it for nine consecutive weeks.

Acts 2:42-47 Let's Stay Together, Part 2, Chris Green
After 5 seasons, someone finally asks the question: "why is NBC so racist?" Congresswoman Bookman (Queen Latifah) of Rhode Island asks this very query to Jack as the Kabletown merger gets closer and closer, causing him to scramble and display as much forced diversity and tokenism as possible at 30 Rock. This is bad timing for Liz, as she's already feeling underappreciated at TGS, but Jack's sudden promotion of Toofer to co-head writer brings out El Tejón in Liz. Finally, Kenneth is trying to return to the Page program at NBC, but finds it's much more complex, but Jenna sees an opportunity; an opportunity to be the stage mom she always wanted to be. So grab your Magnolia Bakery cupcakes, study up on your vertical integration, and enjoy this week's Go To There! As always, if you'd like to donate for production costs, website hosting, etc, hit up our Ko-Fi link to do so. And, subscribe and rate/review on Apple Podcasts to help us grow even further!
