Seasoned country-rock artist JC Miller presents his new single 'Dead Horse Ranch', released with American indie imprint Tilt Records. A captivating tale, Miller takes us to an actual little-known point on the American map in Arizona - a place impressive enough to inspire this powerful new song. This worthwhile journey follows those pursued on his latest singles 'Wayward Son' and 'Before Nightfall'. As ever, his music is intricately related to the American landscape, both geographically and socially, as reflected in his lyrics "Fall in Walnut Canyon / A forever formation / Something bigger than you / The force of nature breaks through / We're all a small part of this place". A Southern California-based Detroit-born guitarist and songwriter, JC Miller weaves stories through the prism of sonic archaeology, unearthing the spirit of Americana and giving it voice through resonant melodies and via geographic landmarks discovered on his own personal journeys. A prolific artist, JC Miller's output is a product of his partnership and friendship with iconic musician-producer Marty Rifkin, known for his work with Tom Petty, Glen Campbell and Jewel, and also as a member of Bruce Springsteen's The Sessions Band on pedal steel guitar. Offering a breath of fresh air amidst the overproduced world of country music, Miller crafts relatable songs brimming with infectious melodies and down-to-earth charm. His songs are rooted in the fabric of America, showcasing a true master, whose work is infused in deep affection for its Southern realms. #Storytelling #Music #Advertising #Recording

Tammy Locke started at the tender age of 18 months when she played Robert Redford's daughter in "The Voice of Charlie Pont". She continued working until she was 8 or 9 years old with entertainment talents like Ann-Margret, Clint Eastwood, Barbara Hershey, Rance, Ron, and Clint Howard to name a few. Tammy feel truly honored to have been blessed at such a young age. Although it has taken her almost 40 years to make my way back to the screen, she had never lost her passion for the business. It has been a part of her life in one form or another since she can remember. When she was 16 years old she began to make my way into the music business when she won 3rd place in The Battle of the Bands. At the age of 19, she became a professional Roller Derby skater with the Detroit Devils as #22 and a short time later she even had my own radio show on 93.5 FM, "The Tammy Jean Show". Not long after, a well-known promoter, Mr. Johnny Burger introduced her to a band known as the California Express. Its members included the nephews of the Famous Tex Williams, Russ Paul, and Dennis Orr and Tex's son in law Sam Aiello as well as Marty Rifkin and Christopher Nielson. They, in turn, introduced her to singer/songwriter, Jeffrey Steele. They all became great friends and bandmates as she headlined all over California as Miss Tammy Jean and the California Express over the next 5-6 years. It wasn't until much later, when she discovered Karaoke that her real dream came true and she met her wonderful husband Tom and would have a beautiful son Robby. Artists he’s tour and /or records with include John York, Ronnie Milsap  and Charlie Rich, Freebo and Bonnie Raitt, Ja  mes Lee Stanley, Chris Hillman, The Burrito Brothers, Janis Ian, Ezra Mohawk and others. Some of the things I talk about with Chad include: Playing at one of my favorite venues, Kulak’s Woodshed in North Hollywood with Freebo who used to be Bonnie Raitt’s bass player, and the Kulak’s Woodshed archives, which have been relocated to their Youtube channel,  where you can still see live performances from some of the performers mentioned in our conversation. He also takes about his days on the road with Ronnie Milsap;  A brush with Kim Fowley, reminisces about some of the old clubs like the Palomino and a missed opportunity to sit in with Stuff, the original house band from Saturday night live when we swapped stories about missed opportunities. I mentioned the I chickened out when Marty Rifkin invited me to sit in with the house jam at the Palomino. And then there’s great tale about country star Dale Watson - sorry, no spoilers. Chad is currently working on a few recording projects and has just tapped up a project with James Lee Stanley. He continues to perform live with his lovely wife, Pam Loe. AcaGeekz Holiday Special 2016 AcaGeekz is now available on iTunes and Stitcher!  If you like what you hear, please write a review and help support the show! ***NOTICE*** Help Tyler Get A Service Dog Hey everyone! I’ve got some massive news!  A 25 year old song by the Legendary Les Baxter (and me!) is being released for the first time by two blind guys and a guy with Cerebral Palsy to help save a 7-year-old boy’s life! http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/visionquestduo A 7 year old boy named Tyler is in trouble.  He has severe autism and is thus completely non-verbal.  To make things worse, he has diabetes and is unable to tell his parents when his blood sugar is low.  They have to watch him 24/7 and have lost jobs as well as their home and are struggling to keep their little boy alive, let alone stay afloat themselves.  What he needs is a service dog that cost $17,000 to train.  This dog could sense when his blood sugar is dropping and he’s about to seize and can alert the parents.  This one dog could save Tyler’s life and allow his parents to re-build, secure in the knowledge that their son is safe. That’s where my news comes in.  My good friend, Robert F. Smith, the blind son of the Grammy-winning O.C. Smith, heard about Tyler and decided he wanted to help.  Since Robert and I are in a brand new blind duo called Vision Quest Duo, we wanted to use our talents to raise the money to help Tyler.  Our agent happened to own the very last Christmas song ever written by the legendary Les Baxter, which has never been released.  More than 25 years later, my agent called me up and asked me to finish the song that Les Started.  It’s called “The Best Gift Of All This Christmas”. We have a friend who lives and works in Las Vegas named mark Giovi.  He has Cerebral Palsy, but doesn’t let that stop him.  He wanted to help Tyler as well.  So the three of us, two blind guys and a guy with Cerebral Palsy have banded together to bring Les Baxter’s song to the public for the first time and to use “The Best Gift Of All This Christmas” to hopefully give the gift of life to a little boy in Oregon.  With an orchestral score written by Peter K. Chudyba and having the vocals recorded in the Beach Boys old studio with Marty Rifkin, an engineering legend in his own right, having worked with Bruce Spring stein, Madonna, and even ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, we feel we’ve given this song every chance at success to achieve our goal for Tyler. That’s where you come in.  The song is available for download on CDBaby, as well as on iTunes, Amazon and many other platforms.  I ask that each of you download the song and give us a 5-Star review.  The more reviews we have the more visibility the song will get.  Then, please pass this along to everyone you know. Being on disability, Robert and I both know what it means to have a fixed income.  That’s why we’ve released this one song as a single.  We don’t want to put a painful dent in anyone’s wallet.  Our goal is to encourage a million acts of intentional kindness, and this is just the beginning.  We plan on using our talents to help as many people as we can. If you want to know more about our endeavors, go to www.littlegreenapplesproject.com .  We’re updating it as I type this and should be fully ready to go very soon.  The website for Vision Quest Duo will be coming soon as well! If you or your company want to have Vision Quest Duo speak at or perform at an event, or you just want to reach out and help make the world a better place one intentional act of kindness at a time, please send an e-mail to littlegreenapplesproject@yahoo.com . I want to wish all of you a very Happy Holiday this season! ~Sean~   Welcome!  It’s my hope that AcaGeekz will introduce the casual listener and the hardcore a cappella fan alike to some groups and styles they’ve never heard before.  Whether it be Barbershop, collegiate, doo wop, high school, choral, jazz, funk, pop, rock, or classical, there’s something for everyone!
