This episode examines a case that sits at the uneasy boundary between criminal adjudication, media power, and moral authority: the prosecution and execution of Aileen Wuornos, labeled the “first female serial killer. We look at two documentaries by Nick Broomfield—Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer (1992) and Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer (2003)—alongside the feature film Monster (2003), written and directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Charlize Theron in an Oscar-winning role. Broomfield's documentaries are less about guilt or innocence than about process: who controls the narrative, how legal representation operates, and what happens when a defendant's life becomes an object of transaction, between lawyers, media, and the public. The films also penetrate the issues around the application of the death penalty in the United States, and the problems that arise when the state seeks to executive individuals who are themselves victims and suffer from severe mental illness. Monster  approaches the same facts through dramatization. Tonally, it's all over the map, the script is wildly inconsistent, and many of the actors appear to be performing in different movies, but despite its issues, this remains a wildly entertaining ride, one that is well worth revisiting today. There are at least 2 revelations contained in the videos that I don't believe any Yes fans except those who attended the concerts in North America have experienced in the intervening 45 years. This version gives it an electric setting, taking a little from Bob's 'Hard Rain' version. I sang ‘Mama, You've Been On My Mind' on the original release, slow and a little mournful but here has a more upbeat and optimistic flavour.  With the vocal harmonies and Dylan's drumming, these tracks retain the mood of what I wanted to explore in 2000, songs about getting your Signals Crossed”  Track Listing: 1.    I Want You 2.    One Too Many Mornings 3.    Mama, You've Been On My Mind.
