Carl Berryman is a Certified Personal Trainer, Men's Health Advocate and Coach with a focus on men's mental health as well as their physical health and well-being. He is also the host of the Inspired by Impact podcast, and recently hosted a series of multi-guest episodes in recognition of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month.   Carl shares his passion for helping men support each other in their life's journey, creating a community of brothers and brotherhood where men can freely express their emotions and mental health struggles, without judgement or fear of ridicule. He openly and honestly describes his own mental health issues, which almost ended in suicide, until he finally took the steps he needed to begin his healing journey. And now he helps other men do the same.   Carl also shares the statistics regarding depression in men, often as a result of feeling isolated, shame, guilt, and not being enough. Unfortunately, this frequently ends in suicide. The good news is that Carl and his community of brothers are working hard to break the cycle by raising awareness and helping each other.   Download this informative and heartfelt episode to hear his important message and to help bring awareness to men's mental health, and how we can prevent the terrible statistics regarding men's suicide. https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/inspired-by-impact-a-podcast-for-men/id1578778191 https://www.linkedin.com/in/carl-berryman/ https://www.instagram.com/ignitetheimpact/?hl=en https://thefemininjaproject.com/episode-264-love-yourself-with-all-your-heart-with-carl-berryman/ https://www.instagram.com/p/C0NUiXcgL8k/?img_index=1

Suicide, substance abuse and serious mental illness are on the rise like never before in the United States and around the world.

Today I am discussing some of the key factors of mental health and also putting a spotlight on the month of June as it is and has been Men's Mental Health Awareness Month since 1994...did you know?

In these ‘Moment' episodes of my podcast, I'll be selecting my favourite moments from previous episodes of The Diary Of A CEO. With it being Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, I felt it was important in this week's moment to focus on the importance of checking in with this prevalent topic in our current society. Roman Kemp tells us about the time he nearly lost his life, and how he was saved by a simple phone call from his mother checking up on him. Suffering from depression since he was a teenager, Roman has sometimes had trouble finding balance in his life. Thankfully, no one knew the ins and outs of his struggle like his mother. When she phoned him up asking how he was doing, he gave her an answer she was not expecting. She would never have imagined having to receive something like this from her son. Simple check ups with our friends and loved ones can have much more impact than we ever anticipate. Likewise, being open about our feelings can help to change them if they've gone down a bad path. I hope this moment from our conversation will help you to open up with your friends, and make this something normal to talk about. Today, I want to take a deep dive behind the music... the sound that you've heard recently in my podcast intro and outros. On October 24, I officially a soundtrack for the podcast called First Lady, but some may be curious about how this track came to be and what it meant creating this song in the first place? I invited the man behind the production and assisted me throughout the final stages: Ricky Smalls. Ricky is a talented producer who has an excellent taste for varieties of sound and rhythm, which he elevates through his instrumentals. Today, we discussed coming together for the first time and how the process was working on the track. Plus, Ricky shares his backstory on what got him into production and engineering, the difference between self-taught and educated producers, the capitalistic structure of the exploitation of artists (Grammy Committee). In addition, a meaningful conversation of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month to address self-care and how toxic masculinity connects as a shield to protect a male's mental health. It was such a pleasure to have Ricky on this podcast and help make this track a reality. Who knows, I may do a breakdown video very soon.
