This week we will be exploring the reality that Christ didn't come to make us better, but to make us alive. We pray this teaching was a blessing and hope to meet you at our Gathering soon.

The most natural posture we have as human beings is to be thankful. Sin keeps us from directing that thanksgiving to the proper end: God. This week, as we close out our series SET THE SAIL, our Pastor Arnaldo will lead us in giving thanks to God through Psalm 16. We will also be celebrating baptisms! We pray this teaching has been a blessing to you and hope to see you at our Sunday Gathering soon as we continue to pursue the presence of God for the sake of the world.
The church moves forward on its' knees. The greatest act we can give ourselves to is the act of prayer where we are most deeply formed and where we get to partner with God to seek renewal. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo unpacks this vital theme from the gospel of Luke. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and hope to see you at our Sunday Gathering soon.
Jesus said it's better for us that he go away. This seems like an inconceivable statement. St. Augustine famously wrote: "Without God, we can't; without us, He won't" There is an age old battle around the perceived conflict between God's work and ours but the Scriptures never ask us to choose. We are called to honour God's freedom and our choices all in the same breath. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo opens up 1 Kings 18 and shows us that while we are called to build the altar, it's God who must bring the fire. We pray this teaching was helpful for you and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
The Australian Church is at an all-time low. With 3-5% of Australians regularly attending a gospel-preaching church regularly, the situation is dire. We need revival. Listen in as Pastor Arnaldo kicks off this new series "SET THE SAIL" as we explore various aspects of our role in the drama of divine renewal. This week we'll be exploring the call to repentance. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and has encouraged your faith and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
We desperately need what John experienced in Revelation 4 where he is transported by the Spirit to a door that stands open in heaven. Our prayer is that as Pastor Arnaldo walks us through Revelation 4:1-11, that the Lord would visit us with his power and grace. We hope and pray that this teaching has been a blessing to you and we look forward to meeting you at one of our Gatherings.
What is the gospel? Why is it even important to understand precisely what the gospel is? Join us as Pastor Arnaldo shares from 1 Corinthians 15: what the gospel is and what the gospel does when it takes root. We hope to see you at one of our gathering and praying this teaching has been a blessing to you.

Our culture today is strikingly similar to that of 1st century Corinth. This week Paul will deal with the issue of the ways that bad theology and pagan thought were infiltrating the church's worship. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo opens up 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 and shows us how God has created us to be distinctly men and distinctly woman for the glory of God and for the good of the world. We pray this teaching was a blessing and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
Join us as Pastor Arnaldo continues our series through the First Letter to the Corinthians. This week we'll be looking at the invitation and call to de-centre the self in our selfish age and do all things for the sake of the glory of God. We pray this teaching was a blessing and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
We all live lives but we all end up in a pine box 6ft deep. On top of that small patch of earth, we will have a tombstone with our year of birth and the year of our death with a hyphen separating the two. A small hyphen. An entire life represented by a hyphen. But what will our hyphen say about us when we're long gone? For Paul, his hyphen was characterised by his desire to do whatever it takes to bring the wayward home. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo helps unpack 1 Cor. 9 and helps us see that we should seek to be free from people for the sake of being free for people. We pray this teaching is a blessing to you and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.

We live in a "pornified" society where as Christians we feel pressure from the culture but also internally from our own moral failures. Sexual immorality is nothing new to the body of Christ; the very first churches struggled to move from their old realities into their new life in Christ. Join us today as our Pastor Arnaldo tackles one of the more difficult subjects: sexual sin and the church as we continue our teaching series through First Corinthians. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and hope to see you at one of Gatherings soon.
We are encouraged to use all sorts of metrics and tool to evaluate "how we're going." This puts us in a position to be constantly evaluating and judging ourselves and others. But Paul will say that he doesn't care what others think and doesn't even value his own assessment of himself as full or final. Join us this week as Pastor Arnaldo unpacked 1 Corinthians 4:1-21 and teaches us what the beautiful art of self-forgetfulness is and how it can help us become more like Jesus. We pray this teaching was helpful for you and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings.

Spirituality is less about our action and more about our location. We pray this teaching has been helpful and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings.
Join us as Pastor Arnaldo kicks off a brand new series through Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. In a world that looks to power and wisdom for their identity, Paul will encourage us today to look to Jesus who becomes our power and wisdom through the most unlikely ways. We pray this teaching is helpful and encouraging and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
Jesus' resurrection birthed a new world. A world where death does not have the last word; a world where despair turns to hope; a world where lack turns into abundance; a world where death finally gives way to life. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo walks us through a reflection on the reality and consequence of the resurrection of the Son of God. We pray this teaching is a blessing and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.

Fasting is the most neglected practice in the western church today. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo helps us explore this vital practice as we seek to partner with God to see Christ formed in us. We pray this teaching has been a blessing and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
Anchor South West turns 3!! And there's no better way to celebrate than to launch a new series called FORMED. We'll take 10 weeks exploring various aspects of what it means to be formed in the ways of Christ. Pastor Arnaldo launches the series by helping us see how formation requires our participation with God's gracious initiative. We pray this teaching has been helpful and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
Join us as Pastor Arnaldo helps us understand and enter into the backdrop of the Christmas story. In order for us to understand the beauty and depth of the incarnation of Jesus we must first understand who we are, how we've fallen, and how Jesus intends to restore us. We pray you have a blessed Merry Christmas, and we hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
Merry Christmas! Join us as Pastor Arnaldo explores the beauty and depth of the incarnation. God with us! We pray you have a blessed Merry Christmas, and we hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
Celebration Sunday! We are hard-wired to give thanks. In our secular age, in the absence of God, we find our culture often directing their thanksgiving to themselves, each other, or the universe. But we are made to send our thanksgiving to God for his loyal love; this is what we're made for! Join us as Pastor Arnaldo walks through Psalm 136 and prepares our hearts and mind to live a life of thanksgiving. We pray this teaching was helpful and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
What does it mean to live out of the victory of Christ? Last week's passage talks about Jesus ascending above angels, authorities, and principalities and therefore encouraging us to walk through suffering for his sake. What does that look like in the world and in the church? Join us this week as Pastor Arnaldo walks us through 1 Peter 4:1-11. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready. Peter calls Christians to always be prepared to give an account for the hope that is within us. While this has spawned many an apologetics ministry - Peter's call is far more defensive than offensive. His main concern is that we live such good lives amongst people of other or no religions that they would be compelled to ask us about the hope we have within us. Listen in as Pastor Arnaldo dives into 1 Peter 3:8-22 and calls us to always be ready. We pray this was a blessing to you and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
One of the most profound shifts you can make in your Scripture reading is moving from reading every "You" in the Bible as singular to reading it as collective. It's often the case that Scripture is addressing a whole group of people at once and this can dramatically change the way we understand Scripture. This week, our Pastor Arnaldo will take us through one of the most explosive verses in all of Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 - we've been saved to be sent. We pray this teaching was helpful to you and hope to see you at the Gathering soon.
"Be holy, as I am Holy" sounds daunting. Is it even possible? What is holiness and how can we pursue it for the sake of the world? This week Pastor Arnaldo will walk us through what holiness is, why it's vitally important, and how we get it. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
08/10/23 The story of faith is one full of complexity. This week, Pastor Arnaldo will walk us through Asaph's journey with God in Psalm 73. Asaph moves from being safely orientated with God and faith into the liminal space of disorientation where his theology and experience don't seem to match up. As he continues to stay tethered to God and community he finds himself with a much truer and deeper faith on the other side of his deconstruction. We pray this teaching was helpful and hope to see you at one of our Sunday gatherings soon.
What's love got to do with freedom, with justice? Apparently, everything! Cornel West said that we must remember that justice is what love looks like in public. The good news of Jesus propels us to give of our time, talent, and treasure to those that may find themselves in a less fortunate state. The gospel is not an enemy to justice but the place where justice and mercy meet. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo highlights our relationship with IJM this Freedom Sunday as we discover that the God of Justice seeks to form a people of justice for the good of the world and for his namesake. We pray this teaching was a blessing to you and hope to see you at our Gathering soon.
Join us as Pastor Arnaldo looks to 1 Corinthians to help us explore the realities of singleness. For many of us the topic can bring up disappointment, or even shame. We pray that as we look at God's design for singleness you will be encouraged and equipped to live out of the love of God in Christ. We pray this teaching is a blessing to you and hope to see you at the Gathering soon.
How many times have you heard this? It's not necessarily a bad thing, and can actually be a really good and healthy thing to do. But growing up also comes with some dangers. In our growing up, we can be tempted to believe the lie that we must earn everything we get. But the Kingdom of God doesn't work this way. This week we hit pause on our Relationship Series 2023 to explore the paradox of the kingdom; i.e., that in order to receive the kingdom of God, we must first become like little children. Join us as Pastor Arnaldo guides us through Mark 10:13-16. We pray this teaching was a blessing and hope to see you at our Gathering at 10am Sundays in Panania.
What is the book of Job really about? While suffering usually takes centre stage when we think about the book of Job - suffering sets the scene for the real question the book is seeking to answer: Do we worship God because he blesses us or do we love God for God's sake? Join us as Pastor Arnaldo closes out our series through the book of Job. We pray this teaching is a blessing and hope to see you at one of our Gatherings soon.
We don't really have the choice of whether or not we will suffer in this life; it's going to happen. We do, however, choose how we walk through the furnace of affliction. What do we need to know, be, and do if we're going to walk with God through suffering? How can we make it to the other side? Join us as Pastor Arnaldo walks through Job's defence and how we're called to walk through our own valley. We pray this teaching was a blessing and hope to see you at our Sunday Gathering soon.
At one point or another we've either given or received platitudes or cliches in the midst of suffering. This serves no one well. This week we'll encounter Job's friends vigorously defending the retribution principle - the idea that what you put in is what you get out as a strict measure of running the world. Job will end up calling them "miserable comforters". So join us this week as Pastor Arnaldo walks us through the arguments of Job's friends and how we can become generous comforters to those in the furnace of affliction.
Join us as Pastor Arnaldo starts a new series on the book of Job.Job is one of the most fascinating pieces of literature. Ancient, it speaks to the modern dilemma of suffering. We'll learn that ultimately, suffering is a deep mystery that the book of Job doesn't so much answer; but a guide to faithfully wrestling with the inevitable suffering that we'll all experience. We hope you've enjoyed this teaching and look forward to having you at one of our Gatherings.

Matthew 6:25-24
God calls each and every one of us to partner with him in the renewal of all things. St. Augustine said: “Without God, we can't … but without us, He won't.” This liberating truth draws us into the mission of God. This week we're exploring Moses's five objections to partnering with God to bring renewal and freedom to his enslaved brothers and sisters in Egypt. Listen in as Pastor Arnaldo explores Exodus 3–4 today.
