With As It Is set to release their latest album, 'The Great Depression', on August 10, vocalist Patty Walters believes the message contained within is one which now, more than ever, needs addressing openly."It's all about the expectation of the truth that we as a society are guilty of romanticising mental illness and depression and we have to eradicate the stigma because it is a detriment to the cause. I believe art is subjective. I don't believe there's a right or a wrong answer necessarily but it's a conversation that we as a society really need to be having in 2018. We could all be doing a lot better and we can all understand each other better by having these conversations."In the full interview Patty goes into greater detail behind how the band is feeling about the imminent release, the conceptual style behind the album, the single 'The Stigma (Boys Don't Cry)' and the strong message in the lyrics, stepping outside of their comfort zone with such difficult topics, the bands prolific output of music plus the prospect of an Australian tour.
