Using Gen's full name, which is Genevieve La Hunt feels a bit weird, and it's not just because she's a good friend of Loz's, my Witching Hour co-host, of course, and the host of Ask Ready or Not. It's because when I jumped off this recording, I felt like I had just chatted with a friend myself. Gen is the founder of Sunday Agency. She works in publicity and PR she's had a really interesting career. But what was more interesting about her was just how real she is. You will not meet anyone who talks as straight as Gen. She really resented owning a business, particularly in the early days of motherhood. She resents that she worked from the hospital. She resents that she sent emails while she was in labor. She doesn't think this girl boss thing really applies when she talks about how she's had to navigate paid work and motherhood Instead, here, she offers something really real. With all that in mind, you could then be expecting a negative piece of conversation, but that's not what you're going to get today. You're going to get a really realistic look into what it's like to navigate business as the mum, as the boss. You're going to hear about her corporate experiences and what the difference between really good management and really terrible management looks like, especially when it comes to her really challenging fertility journey and a traumatic miscarriage,And you're going to learn about what it's taught her, about being a leader and being in business as a parent and with a family today. There's lots of swearing, there's lots of fun. There is so much honesty. It really is one of my favorite conversations to date.—Thanks for listening! In this episode of Hack Your Own PR, Odette Barry is joined by Lucinda McKimm, journalist-turned-podcaster, producer, and co-host of Ready or Not. Lucinda has built one of Australia's most dynamic podcasts exploring the collision of motherhood, career, and feminism. With her background in sports media and branded content at Cricket Australia, plus years of freelancing and yoga teaching on the side, she brings both grit and creativity to a rapidly growing platform that now spans three weekly shows. We dive into the reality of producing high-calibre, independent content while raising kids, setting boundaries in business partnerships, and why personalisation matters more than ever when pitching to Ready or Not. On Hack Your Own PR, we unpack the art and science of media relations, publicity, and storytelling so you can DIY PR, amplify your voice, and share your message. In this episode, Lucinda breaks down: Her journey from journalism student to Cricket Australia, then into podcasting during parental leave How Ready or Not evolved from an interview series into three shows a week (Ready or Not, Witching Hour, and Ask Ready or Not) What it takes to run a podcast brand at professional standard while balancing freelancing and parenting How she and co-host Loz divide roles, manage workflows, and set boundaries (including "no WhatsApp on Wednesdays") The importance of diversity in guest selection and why she actively seeks different motherhood and career stories What makes for a great pitch, and the red flags that guarantee a "no" Key Takeaways: A strong pitch balances both story and audience: either a killer narrative or an engaged following (ideally both). Tailoring matters — if you've never listened to Ready or Not and send a generic pitch, you won't get far. Guests who amplify their own episode can drive as many downloads as "big name" talent. Honesty and openness make for the most compelling conversations — you don't need to have lived through tragedy to tell a meaningful story. Boundaries protect creativity and longevity: clear roles, set days for work, and rules about when not to message are part of their survival strategy. What to Avoid: Spray-and-pray press releases with no reference to Ready or Not's themes or audience. Long, attached PDFs — put the essentials in the email body. Overlapping pitches during book tours without disclosing where else the guest is appearing. Ignoring the importance of story amplification post-release. This episode is a candid masterclass in independent podcasting, building a brand with integrity, and pitching to a show that's fiercely loved by mums navigating the messy middle of ambition and motherhood. This episode is a masterclass in live TV pitching, producer relationships, and how to turn a great story into a compelling segment on Australia's breakfast screens. Recaps also cover Amanda Cronin's gay panic on Real Housewives of London, Kiki's iconic exit from Adriana's racist ramblings on Real Housewives of Miami, and the disgusting display from Slade Smiley on Real Housewives of Orange County. Tvrdí to šéf Lekárskeho odborové združenia Peter Visolajský. Do zdravotníctva pritom už dnes nalievame takmer 10 miliárd pričom podľa šéfa Najvyššieho kontrolného úradu pumpovanie ďalších miliárd nášmu zdravotníctvu nijako neuľaví a pacientom nepomôže. Zdravotníctvo sa stalo čiernou dierou na peniaze pretože tento rezort ovládli lobisti so súkromných finančných skupín no a ministerstvo na verejný záujem už dávno rezignovalo, tvrdí Ľubomír Andrassy. So zvyšovaním odvodov nesúhlasí ani Lekárske odborové združenie. No a aká bude ďalšia budúcnosť Záchrannej zdravotnej služby a mal by po zbabranom sanitkovom tendri minister zdravotníctva urýchlene zložiť vládnu funkciu? Ráno Nahlas so šéfom LOZ Petrom Visolajským. Pekný deň a pokoj v duši praje Braňo Dobšinský.

We're finally back to finish our reportage on Phoenix in Obsidian (AKA The Silver Warriors). It's an epic tale of anguish and self-pity on an earth where the sun has dimmed, the moon has crashed down to simply be called Moon and the menace known as the Silver Warriors have extreme problems figuring out the point of polearms. How will Count Ulrik Skarsol endure...? Loz is back alongside Phil for this one and we have a D8 Wandering Beer Table to boot. Bob Haberfield: The Man and His Art is published by Jayde Design and available from there and the Bob Haberfield Web Shop.
Holy snapping ducksh*t, buckle up for this one. Loz Antonenko (aka the Mojo Mentor) brings a full buffet of life stories, wisdom, wild twists, and unfiltered gold. We kicked off with reminiscing bonding over our matching fancy-pants and somehow landed on grief, burnout, bodybuilding, trauma, transformation, 3D-printed butts, and the radical power of not half-assing your habits. Loz is one of those people who has lived – and I mean really lived – through some stuff that would crumble most, but she’s come out with more colour, clarity, and joy than ever. This convo was a rollercoaster of feels, perspective shifts, deep chats, and lots of laughs. She’s lived a hundred lifetimes in one and turned it all into a roadmap for reclaiming your mojo... one small, powerful habit at a time. You're going to bloody love her! It's dangerous to go alone--take this incredibly convoluted timeline that attempts to wrap together several independent stories into one shared universe! That's right kids, 8 years in the making it's finally time for a FLAVOR TEXT about the one, the only, the Legend of Zelda! Join us on a hero's journey through time, winds, and sepia-toned twilight as we break down each mainline entry to this iconic series, and wrap with the even more iconic "official timeline" which attempts to pull in each game into one modular timeline...except Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, idk. Special thanks to "Kyle" (a different one, don't worry) for commissioning today's episode!
