The feminine and the feminist - do you relate to one more than the other?Do you think we need the masculine energy within us to get the feminine off the ground?Have we reached the point of an identity crisis with women and how they describe themselves - is there an extreme of what labels we use? Are we destined to always resolve something through the masculine, rather than the feminine?Let’s go through the shift and change between feminine and feminist. In this episode, Bec and Nicky discuss the two words and what they mean. While one is much more well known and accepted, it still comes from a very feminine place - but is the feminine undervalued because it comes from a different energy? We discuss insights around both these two words in relation to:Is feminine dysfunctional? Are we destined to always resolve something through the masculine? Why is it an issue to be labelled feminine?Curious over controlHave we devalued care - and why?You can find out more about Nicky here, and contact her via email
I believe that it’s not just women who need to value their feminine energy more but also men. Men are often conditioned to believe that long hours and discipline is valued more than emotion and empathy and have devalued their feminine side for a long time. We are starting to see this positive change now in younger men - through an increased understanding of the importance of collaboration and relationships, but there is still work to be done. Through these conversations we really hope that we can spread the message to leaders everywhere that feminine energy is valued in all of us - regardless of our gender. In today’s episode, I welcome Michael Aichholzer who shares his story. We discuss his experiences with ‘hyper masculinity’, his time spend in the military (and all the challenges that come with that), and his current role giving back to young men as a mentor at MensLink. We will share insights on:How contemporary messages around manhood and masculinity are confusing boys and men alikeWhy young men need positive male role models to guide them to become good young menWhy we need young men to be able to access and talk about emotions, and not look at vulnerability as a weaknessThe organisation, MensLink and the work they are doing to help, support and mentor young men in Australia. You can find out more about Michael and MensLink here.
When you think of the energy of an entrepreneur, what comes to mind? Mindset? The need to always be busy, get things done and run on no energy? In this episode, Nicky-Miklos Woodley joins me to discuss what the energy of an entrepreneur actually means and what kind of energy we bring into our businesses each day and how this reflects in our work, in particular discussing the idea of ‘creative chaos’We share valuable insights for the entrepreneur and business owner who is finding themselves in a constant state of chaos and know that they are operating in the masculine car seat and need to slow things down, be more in tune with their mindset and trust themself and those around them.We will openly share insights on our own experiences as business owners as well such as:Conditional trust v unconditionalThe energy style that we bring into our organisationHow do we trust ourselves?Self trust, self love and self respectThe business owner v the entrepreneur - which one are you? What is entrepreneurship? You can find out more about Nicky here, and contact her via email.
As leaders, how can we improve processes when we are internalising and making a decision? How can we better understand ourselves and our triggers, our team and their behaviours? In this episode, I delve into the IDEA model (Internal, Decision, External and Assess) and how this model and process can help leaders, just like you.We discuss how we take information in, do something with it internally and then reflect it back into the world as a behaviour. As a leader, it is our role to collect and understand as many frames and lenses as possible so that we can continue to adapt and understand our internal behaviours. That way we’ll be in a position to make better external decisions.Tune in leaders!
I believe that business is one of the platforms that allow us to truly influence, impact and transform not only the world but the lives of others. In today’s episode we talk about just that, with someone who is quite special to me. Wendy Daily, is the CEO of iSanctuary, a growing NFP in the US, which empowers young women rescued from human trafficking. iSanctuary teaches women how to support and sustain themselves through learning new skills, one of which is jewellery-making, but encompasses all the associated business skills that goes with it.Join Wendy and I as we discuss why businesses need to identify what their purpose is, focus on it, and ensure it’s a purpose that’s worth living for:Why we all need to be different to accomplish our missionWe are here to empower and not fix what is brokenAnd why no organisation can do it all but if everyone does their portion, we can really make an impact. You can find out more about iSanctuary here, and make a donation and contact Wendy personally hereTune in and discover the amazing work Wendy and iSanctuary are doing.
What comes to mind when you think of culture? The sea in which we swim? The ocean that holds the organisation together? The unwritten ground rules?Processes, systems and behaviours?Culture is held by us: the leaders. And as leaders, we hugely impact the culture of our organisations and our people. Good and bad. In this episode, I share insights on how you can link strategy and culture together - and what the benefit of doing so are. We’ll cover how:Mindset impacts behaviour and culture and why we need to understand the differences of every team memberWhere you may have gaps in alignmentWhy you need to have hard conversationsHow the structure of an organisation affects cultureInstead of treating our people last and expecting them to fall in line with the existing culture, let’s put them firstTune in as I cover the three key strategies that could be missing from your culture.
With a new financial year, we thought it would be the perfect time to discuss structure & KPI’s, two words that we talk about a lot in our business and are essential for sustainability and success. While some of us prefer to set monthly, quarterly or even yearly KPI’s to work towards, others prefer to set structures and goals in place. But do they mean the same thing? Do they have the same outcome, just with a different approach or goal to get there? What do the words mean to you? Does one resonate with you more than the other? In this episode, we welcome back Nicky-Miklos Woodley from Evergreen Coaching to discuss some key valuable insights:Structure and flow.Measure a benchmark of success.Direction and goals.Guided direction and celebration. How to create sustainability and structure in success. And most importantly, how do we have trust, both in ourselves, the people we work with and in our business. You can find out more about Nicky here, and contact her via email.

Do you find yourself micromanaging your team? Controlling a project or overly stressed in time of change when you want to be able to step back? These are all signs that we are leading with too much masculine energy in our roles at work and as leaders. The need to control and always be certain, is our masculine energy coming into play and for many of us, changing the way we approach situations and tapping into our feminine energy isn’t natural to us - we have been conditioned to be more masculine in our approach. But, is it actually effective? As a leader or a business owner, knowing when and how to bring functional feminine energy into your role can be challenging. We often don’t know when or how and feel that we may not get the results from our people. Some questions that come to mind could be, How do you show care to your team without overcompensating? And how to show you care but not going too far and still remaining in a position of authority? Or how do you collaborate with your suppliers in a way that makes it about the business and not about each other? In this episode, Bec dives deep into feminine energy and the different ways it can be applied to your role as a leader so we can make a difference in our workplaces! We uncover: Change, Collaboration, Creativity, Care and Collective - the 5 C’s to practicing feminine energy and examples of how we can use and apply each one every day at work. You’ll walk away from this episode with a different mindset and outlook on how you can approach work with not only your employees and your team but also your suppliers.
Is there a buzzword that gets thrown around that you don’t resonate with at all? It could be the word itself that you don’t like or maybe it’s what the word stands for that you don’t resonate with?In this podcast, we delve into a word that gets thrown around a lot in the business world. The word: hustle. What comes to mind when you think of that word? Does it motivate or inspire you or does it make you feel stressed or rushed? We all have different meanings towards certain words, and in business and leadership, there are some words that we resonate with more closely than others. In this episode, we delve into the meaning behind the word hustle and what it means in business. We also discuss other words in business that may resonate with people more closely that stem from the same meaning. Discussing both the functional feminine and masculine of the word.
What if we told you that feminine energy is the missing piece in your current leadership strategy? What if we told you that there is another way to lead your team and achieve results within your organisation or your business? What if we told you that we have been focussing too much on the masculine in business and undervaluing the feminine? In this episode, we delve into masculine and feminine energy and how we can balance these energies in our life, our business and our leadership style. Both men and women, have feminine and masculine energies and both are required to be successful in life and business but the key is to use these in a functional way.
