Die novellierte eIDAS-Verordnung [1] und die dazugehörige Architecture and Reference Framework Toolbox, die seit Juni desselben Jahres in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Mitgliedstaaten entwickelt wurde, sollen offiziell nationale Unterschiede bei elektronischen Identitäten beseitigen und private wie öffentliche Dienste einbeziehen. Jeder Mitgliedstaat muss bis Ende 2026 mindestens eine European Digital Identity Wallet anbieten, die für alle EU-Bürger, Einwohner und Unternehmen verfügbar ist. Die Wallet ermöglicht es, nationale digitale Identitäten in einer App zu bündeln, Dokumente anzufordern, zu speichern und zu teilen sowie elektronisch zu signieren. Die offizielle EU-Linie betont dabei stets die volle Nutzerkontrolle und erklärt auf ihrer offiziellen Website:„Ihre persönlichen Daten erzählen die Geschichte Ihres Lebens, deshalb sollten Sie selbst darüber bestimmen. Genau das sollen die EU Digital Identity Wallets ermöglichen.“ [2]Es heißt, die Daten würden lokal auf dem Smartphone gespeichert und verschlüsselt, es solle kein Tracking und kein Profiling geben [3], und die geteilten Informationen dürften nicht mit anderen Datenquellen kombiniert werden. Vier groß angelegte Pilotprojekte testen bereits Anwendungsfälle in Bildung, Zahlungen und Reisen. Die Wallet soll offiziell den Alltag vereinfachen: Ein neues Bankkonto eröffnen, sich an einer ausländischen Universität einschreiben oder sich auf einen Job bewerben. Auf Reisen können Bordkarten und Hotelidentifikationen genutzt werden. Die europäische eIDAS-Verordnung zur digitalen Identität, (elektronische Identifizierung und Vertrauensdienste für elektronische Transaktionen im Binnenmarkt) wurde schon 2018 verpflichtend. Die EU selbst sieht in der EUDI-Verordnung einen Schritt zu mehr digitaler Effizienz und Alltagsnähe.„Mit der neuen Verordnung werden die Mängel von eIDAS behoben, indem die Wirksamkeit des derzeitigen Rahmens für die digitale Identität verbessert und seine Vorteile auf den Privatsektor ausgeweitet werden.“ [4]2024: SPDs Impulspapier macht die Wallet zum Zwangsinstrument für Meinungsäußerung Genau dieses angeblich freiwillige System wollen die regierenden Parteien in Deutschland nun nutzen, um eine verpflichtende Altersverifikation für soziale Medien einzuführen. Das fünfseitige Impulspapier der SPD mit dem Titel „Sichere Soziale Medien – Schutz von Kindern und Jugendlichen im digitalen Raum stärken“ [5] legt fest, dass die Verifikation ausschließlich über die EUDI-Wallet erfolgen soll. Damit wird eine Altersüberprüfung automatisch zur Identitätsverifikation. Die Wallet wird im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Digitales und Staatsmodernisierung von der Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen gemeinsam mit Partnern aufgebaut. Der Start in Deutschland ist für den 2. Januar 2027 vorgesehen. If you assume everything both sides said in closing is true, the prosecution is in the stronger position, and Brendan Banfield is more likely than not to be found guilty. The reason isn't emotional; I'm basing it on the state's single explanation that accounts for all of the evidence. The defense spent way too much time in my opinion pointing out why individual pieces might be questioned, and while that may slow the jury down, it won't replace the prosecution's theory with a workable alternative. Even taking the defense at its best, the jury is still left with one unavoidable question: if Brendan didn't do this, how did the scene end up the way it did? Scene staging, blood transfers and timing gaps don't explain themselves. Once jurors accept that someone manipulated the crime scene after the killings handled, the focus narrows. This case will be decided on whether the physical and behavioral evidence makes sense. It once was the historic stronghold of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the FLDS. This is the community built around plural marriage, prophetic control, and absolute obedience, led for decades by self-proclaimed prophet Warren Jeffs, now serving life in a Texas prison for sexually assaulting young girls. As we drive through the streets of this once-sealed polygamist enclave, we stop at key locations that defined FLDS power: the massive compound built by Warren Jeffs' father Rulon Jeffs to house eighty-seven wives, the offices where obedience was enforced, and the meeting house where men were stripped of their families from the pulpit. Day six of testimony in the Brendan Banfield murder trial wasn't about theatrics, it was about how this case was built, how investigators handled competing theories, and how leadership drew a hard line between collecting digital evidence and over-interpreting it. The defense tried to turn digital forensics into doubt, leaning hard on a simple idea: you can't always tell who's behind the screen. And that sounds persuasive… until you remember what trials are actually decided on: the totality of the evidence, the blood evidence, timelines, behavior, opportunity, contradictions, and corroboration. A police commander pulled no punches explaining why a digital forensics detective was removed from major-crimes digital work: not because the extraction steps were botched, but because leadership believed the detective was making “unsubstantiated deductions”, reading conclusions into data that the science alone couldn't support.
