This week on Deal or No Deal Island Insiders, recently-eliminated contestant Nick Grasso joins Miranda Rose Harrison and Jack Vita for a lively conversation on the Jack Vita Show! Despite accepting a record-setting offer a week ago, Nick took a bad deal from the banker, spelling the end of his time on the Banker's Island in Deal or No Deal Island's ninth episode, "Are You Ruthless?" Last week, Nick joined Jack for his exit interview, in which he detailed how a strange dream that he had on the Banker's Island put an end to his time on the show. Now, he opens up in an hour-long conversation with Jack and Miranda. Nick recaps and relives his time on the Banker's Island. In the early days of the game, he was in a tight alliance with Boston Rob Mariano, but midway through the game, his attitude toward the Robfather shifted. Nick was a founding member of the Night Owls alliance, and soon, Rob went from an ally to enemy. Why did Nick decide to turn on Rob and target the five-time Survivor veteran? Nick takes us inside of his gameplay, strategy and thought-process. Miranda and Nick discuss life on the Banker's Island. The two shared a tent with Amy McCoy. How did they end up in the only co-ed tent on the show? Who ended up in the other two tents? And how did things go in Tent 3? Nick and Miranda relive some of their favorite memories from their time on the island, and provide an inside look to what goes on on DONDI. They also talk about the food situation on the show. What do the contestants eat, and what if the contestants have a food allergy? Along the way, Nick, Miranda and Jack break down the latest episode, "Are You Powerful?" and discuss whether or not they think Aron Barbell was really going to turn on Rob, had he defeated the banker. They also preview the Final 4, with the show's penultimate episode coming up next Monday. You can follow Nick on Twitter (@ngrasso217) and Instagram (@nickyy__g), and check out the Official Nick Grasso Shop! This week, Aron Barbell became the ninth contestant eliminated from NBC's new hit reality competition show, Deal or No Deal Island. As part of our Deal or No Deal Island coverage, Aron visits the Jack Vita Show for his exit interview. Aron was the first contestant to face the banker in episode 1. He emerged victorious nine weeks ago, and successfully eliminated Brantzen Wong from the show. This week, Aron was not as fortunate, as his case held a higher total ($3.5 million) than the offer he accepted ($1.199 million), making a bad deal and spelling the end of his time on the show. Aron started off strong. At the end of episode 4, he was voted the most trustworthy competitor on the show. He had hoped that Miranda would defeat the banker and send Stephanie home for him. Miranda was not onboard though, and blew up his game to the entire cast. Five episodes later, Aron's time on DONDI came to an end. Amy McCoy selected Aron to face the banker in this week's episode. It was unclear who Aron would have eliminated had be defeated the banker and stayed alive. It appeared as though Boston Rob's time on the Banker's Island may have been reaching its end, as the Night Owls plead to Aron to take a shot at the Robfather. Rob hoped that Aron would finally take out Stephanie, something they had discussed since the very first episode. In this exclusive exit interview, Aron reveals who he would have sent packing had he defeated the banker, if he feels Boston Rob underestimated him as a player, where he thinks things started to go south for him on the Banker's Island, what he would do differently if he played again, and much, much more! You can follow Aron on Instagram (@dontcallmeayayron) and Twitter (@AronBarbell).
This week, Nick Grasso became the eighth contestant eliminated from NBC's new hit reality competition show, Deal or No Deal Island. As part of our Deal or No Deal Island coverage, Nick visits the Jack Vita Show for his exit interview. Nick had his number called upon Monday night, as he was selected by Jordan and Amy to face the banker. He was the only remaining member of the Night Owl alliance that had not yet played Deal or No Deal. Nick and the Night Owls had a plan. They would keep Rob and Aron in the middle, ensuring that their alliance would have complete control of who would go home. With Rob as a clear target, Nick got a chance to take his shot at the Robfather. Nick made quick work of the board, and with only two cases remaining, received the largest offer in Deal or No Deal history: $4.417 million. He had the $4.25 million and $4.5 million cases remaining. Nick accepted the deal, and unfortunately for him, his case held $4.5 million, meaning that he made a bad deal. Nick's time on the island came to an end. Jack speaks with Nick about his decision to accept the banker's offer, how a strange dream the night before influenced his decision, Rob and Stephanie's confrontation at the temple, Stephanie's lie to Nick, who Nick would have sent home, and much more! You can follow Nick on Instagram (@nickyy__g) and Twitter (@ngrasso217).
Survivor: Guatemala contestant Brooke Struck and Jack Vita are back to recap the fourth episode of NBC's new hit reality competition show, Deal or No Deal Island! Each week, Brooke and Jack will be recapping the latest episode of Deal or No Deal Island. Later in the week, Jack will provide an exit interview with the most recent contestant eliminated from Deal or No Deal Island. Episode 4, "Are You Intuitive?" picks up where episode 3 left off, with the elimination of Claudia. Kim continues to target Boston Rob, and now Amy is going after the Robfather. The contestants split into two separate teams for the challenge. A heroic effort from Alyssa and Aron earns their tribe immunity, protecting Miranda, Jordan and Amy from elimination. As the team's captain, Amy has the power to select which contestant from the losing team will go into elimination. Sensing that he could very easily be picked off by someone else if they were to win a Deal or No Deal game, Rob volunteers to go into elimination. With Amy's sights set on giving Rob the boot, she accepts Rob's proposition. Rob takes a gamble, and it pays off. He then sends Kim packing. Before sending the contestants back to camp, Joe asks the group which player they believe to be the most trustworthy. Aron is collectively agreed upon as the recipient of the title, and he is told to stay back while the rest of the contestants retreat to camp. Aron is nervous about this sudden twist of fate, as the episode reaches its end.
If we could somehow convey music with these words, we would be conveying the theme from The Godfather right now, as we bring you the episode that solidifies the fact that the original 'Robfather' in the game of Survivor wasn't a certain man from Boston, but in fact a man from Melbourne who just happened to own the very first season of Australian Survivor. Robert Dickson is his name, and Robert Dickson is his reputation. Need we say more? You'll just have to listen to our recap of the 11th episode of season 1 to find out just what we're talking about. It's an episode you simply can't refuse.
If Survivor showed anything last week, it's that you don't mess with the RobFather. Fresh off of a thrilling tribal council where Rob had the Sele tribe dump their bags to see who had the idol, how will Sele be able to rebound following the boot of Danni to Extinction Island? With Old School seemingly running the show on Sele, could there be an uprising of the New Schoolers led by Adam? What will happen when one half of cops r us has his own richard hatch moment with a shark? What chaos is abound on Extinction Island? Discuss all of this and more Wednesday night as Jim Early and Missyae Productions present another edition of the Missyae Podcast: Survivor Winners at War Recap Show! Call in at (657) 383-1308 and get your thoughts in on this week's show!
Stooge and Guild rejoin the Robfather to discuss various aspects of the Flat Earth Theory and new happenings and ideas from the latest Flat Earth Convention. Plus the usual insanity you all know and love.
In this solitary cast, Robfather reviews an article from one of the preeminent skeptics of our time and his confrontation with the unexplained, and then discusses a bit of his own encounters.
In this episode, DK, Robfather, Ali and Rachel begin a quest into figuring out exactly what Hentai is...and decide it's easier to say what it isn't. Innocence is lost, trains of thought are derailed, and points are not made in this exploration of sexual sacred cows.
As promised, a special present for our fans. You'll be treated to some of the best of our old Spooky Asylum pieces. In this case, individual shows from DK, Robfather, Fizz, the elusive Ollion and the enigmatic Urkotic are included for your listening pleasure. A wide variety of topics from Champ, to Conspiracies to Jack the Ripper to Religion and finally the Hopkinsville Goblins awaits you.
In this episode, DK, Robfather and Shep discuss the creepy things little kids can say...the kind of things that make the hair on an adult's neck stand up. If you've got kids, little nieces or nephews, you'll look at them twice if you hear the sort of things we explore. Shep also opens up about some of his more unusual paranormal experiences. As a bonus, we debut a great new song, "Monster's Ball", from Dean Farnell.
In this episode, again sans DK the trio of Robfather, Ali, and Shep explore some of the phenomenon that have blossomed and seemingly been born on the Web. A brief recap of black eyed kids, followed by new findings on the Harlequin and an exploration of the new internet boogeyman on the block, the Slender Man, await you.
DK, Fizz, Robfather, and Ali look back on the more memorable episodes of the last four years in the official farewell episode of EERIE Radio.
A short announcement for our fans regarding an online invitation to join us for a cookout where DK, Robfather and possibly Ollion (gasp! yeah, I know), and maybe others (who knows?) will discuss the future of EERIE Radio a bit and also auction and/or raffle any number of artifacts, fangear and ridiculous oddities associated with the show. The date's Sunday July 3rd, most likely in the afternoon (Eastern U.S. time) on UStream. We hope to see a lot of you there!
That's a wrap! It was great to hear from so many of you regarding the finale and your thoughts on the season in general. The respect for the Robfather's ability to pull off the win and dominate the whole season was evident in your responses. Not surprisingly, the degree of how much you enjoyed the whole season varied with how much of a fan you were of Boston Rob. Some folks like the Redemption Island concept and hold out hope that it can improve. Others, not so much. By far, the recommendation we liked the best was to expand the show to two hour episodes! For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Thirty two fans shared their thoughts on the Redemtpion Island finale and predictions for what we'll see in season 23. We enjoyed the finale. Admittedly, it would have been more exciting to see the Rob Zombies turn on their master and shake things up, but it was also impressive to watch how the Robfather completely controlled all of them to the bitter end. Not even the time wasting RI twist could upset his plans. Regardless of the circumstances, it was impressive to watch him work his magic from beginning to end. Did you enjoy the finale? Did you think Rob played the perfect game? Are perfect games boring? Who on the jury had the best question? Where you pleased with the result? Where does this season rank for you: top 5, bottom 5, somewhere in the middle? What's your final verdict on the Redemption Island concept? Do you think it could improve the game? Did you see anything at the reunion show that surprised you? Are you excited for season 23? Congratulations to Debbie from Vancouver, winner of Survivor Redemption Island JSFL! Debbie is our first repeat winner! She scored a classic blindside, come from behind win to take first place. Note: We will record the last Listener Feedback show of the season on Wednesday, May 18th. We interviewed Natalie Tenerelli and Phillip Sheppard today. They finished the game in third and second place respectively and both represent extreme examples in the game. The Robfather took Natalie, the youngest female to ever play the game, under his wing and rewarded her loyalty as promised. Phillip has cemented his place in Survivor history as one of the most eccentric characters we have ever had the pleasure of watching. Listen to this audio interview to hear how they were chosen for Survivor, why Phillip chose not to reveal his acting strategy at final tribal, what message they have for the fans and lots more! How about that. Ashley might actually possess some ability to play the game after all. It took 13 episodes, but it was nice to finally see someone besides Rob in the Ometepe tribe actually thinking about the game. Grant, Ashley and even Natalie finally displayed some strategic ability. Of course, none of them are functioning at the same level as the Robfather. Do you think it has been hard for them to watch at home and see just how bad they were outplayed by Rob? Who do you most want to see return from Redemption Island? Do you think we will get to see Rob play his HII? What's your ideal final five? Can you think of any scenario where Phillip gets any votes if he makes it to the final tribal council? Who do you have picked to win it all? Here is the merged tribe after episode 13. DK, Fizz, the Robfather and Milly take a trip to the not-much-to-do-with-mushrooms Mushroom Festival in Mansfield, Indiana. Together they face what Pigeon Forge would be like if it could be made portable and deposited on random hillsides in the Hoosier Outback.
Ometepe begins to eat its own, and RI brings the reward dilemma that we were craving. Unfortunately, both events fail to deliver the disruption in the status quo that we were hoping for. The family visit seemed to further cement the disparity between the Robfather's approach to the game and the remaining Ometepes. How is that he gets a new shirt from a loved one? Do you think he's getting special treatment? Did you worry for his safety in the immunity challenge? What did you make of Mike's choice after winning the duel? Did it help or hurt his chances if he makes it back from RI? Are you buying Phillip's explanation of his grand strategy? Do you think anyone on the jury will? Did you ever think he would make it this far? Who are you hoping will return from RI? Of the remaining Ometepes, who stands the best chance of beating Rob at the final tribal council? Don't you just wish it really was about THOSE kind of mushrooms? In this episode, DK, the Robfather, Ali, and the mysterious Milly venture forth into the forbidding woods to uncover the mystery of the morel mushroom.
We've seen race come up as in issue in previous seasons, most recently in Samoa, but this episode Phillip took things to a whole different level. As much as we enjoy all his goofy antics, it was really uncomfortable to watch him come unglued and attack Steve. Did you buy his explanation? Do you think he was justified in his outburst? The Robfather appears to have an iron grip on the fate of the remaining Zapatera members. Is it safe enough for him to start voting out some of the Ometepe tribe now? Do you think Zapatera made the right call with the rice? Phillip appears to be really unstable. Can you think of a scenario where he could win the $1M? Attention all Survivor students. The Robfather is running an advanced placement Survivor strategy clinic during season 22. There will be special sessions on managing sleeping quarters, scheduling feeding times, encouraging a sense of entitlement and outward displays of arrogance as well as tips on how to organize a buddy system to encourage your alliance to spy on each other. Things look grim for the 2 1/2 remaining Zapatera members. Do you think there's any chance for Julie, Ralph and what's left of Steve to make it to the end? Grant showed a small amount of rebellion this week with the fish. Do you ever see him attempting to wrest control away from Rob? Will the original Ometepe members be able to keep it together until all the Zapateras are gone? Would you be happy with Rob's final 3? Who will you be cheering for at the Redemption Island duel? The merge really fueled your fire this week. Most of you were thrilled with the results. Matt seems to have lost a lot of his Redemption Island luster. Many of you were thrilled with how the Robfather managed his tribe, but a few thought he might have made a strategic error. There were also some great theories on potential, emergent alliances with Andrea, Phillip and David at the center of the action. We really enjoyed hearing Luke's analogy to help explain the lesson that Matt just cannot seem to learn. This week we interviewed Kristina Kell. She left the game in episode 5 of Survivor Redemption Island. Not content with riding coattails, Kristina hit the ground running with an aggressive approach to the game. Unfortunately for her, she was under the watchful eye of the Robfather, and he didn't approve. Once he marked her as a threat, it was all over for poor Kristina. It's only episode 2 and the Robfather has already delivered a wicked Boston blindside! He wasn't the only one making big moves though. Rooster Ralph managed to one up him with two big scores. Looks like Russell is going to have to work his way through Ralph before he can get a shot at Rob. Has Phillip found his niche in Ometepe by pledging allegiance to Rob? How do you think Andrea will exact her revenge? Is Rob in any danger of losing control of his tribe? Why do you think Russell and Stephanie are so confident that they will be able to pull off a blindside? Who will you be rooting for in the first Redemption Island duel? Here are the tribes after episode 2. Ometepe:Andrea, Ashley, Grant, Kristina, Natalie, Phillip and Rob Zapatera:David, Julie, Krista, Mike, Russell, Ralph, Sarita, Stephanie and Steve Redemption Island Duel: Francesca vs. Matthew We both think Russell will be the next to take dark walk to Redemption Island.
