It is FINALLY HERE! The Survivor results are here! This time, I plugged in what the actual stats would be for each of the contestants would be for a more accurate episode! Now Biff Tannen won't be a super sweet person, Joan Galloway won't be a moron, etc. So how will they fare? There is only ONE way to find out, who has immunity Idols, what does Redemption Island look like, what are the alliances, and WHO WILL WIN??? The only way to find out, click on the link, and have a listening party! Or even better, share it with your friends and family and even enemies! Well, we are back with our most popular episode for Post-Credits, the Survivor episode! This episode is TV show characters vs movie characters! Now, I have been told that over the years, my Survivor episodes have been getting well…long (like several hours). I get it, you are busy so I have come up with a great solution! I feel that some people would only prefer the speculation and others would only want the game play so I have decided to split the episodes so I present…the speculation! This is also a historic season because I have figured out (with my wife's help) that it is not hard at all to put in the attributes to the characters so it is somewhat accurate! This way, it is as accurate as I can make it! What will Biff Tannen's role in the tribe be? Will anyone flip? How will Redemption Island help or hurt then? How will Mable Mora help the tribe? Well if you want to know what I think, listen on! If you only care about how it shakes out, then wait for the next one. If you care about both…well…then listen and GET HYYYPPPEEDD! Fresh off of the introduction of the Redemption Island twist the season before, Survivor brought back this same twist while bringing back two of the most popular Survivors to have played the game before. Coach and Ozzy found their way back onto the island along with other contestants as they also must deal with the concept of Redemption Island. What else went down on this epic season? What really went on behind the scenes of some of the moments of the season? How do some look back at this season so many years later? Today, we're talking Season 27: Blood vs. Water - or maybe more appropriately, Season 27: Tyson Finally Wins. FAIR WARNING: This episode is a long one because we had some differing opinions and we had to figure it out on air. We debate the difference between 'old school' and 'new school' Survivor (and where we think that distinction comes from) AND the overarching pros and cons of our illustrious winner Tyson. Dive in with us because we're not sure where we stand at the end of this. We also discuss how we think production decided on the returning players (and their loved ones) when conceptualizing the season, the strength of Blood vs. Water as a theme, and the continuous use of Redemption Island (for good or bad). We're bringing you Rapid Fire, honorable mention (with a shoutout to Big Brother), and a twist on our favorite segment: #Jeffneedsavibecheck (except this week it's about Tyson). It's a wild ride, so buckle up cause you're in for a roller coaster of emotions. Welcome back to Escaping Reality -- in this episode, we're diving into Survivor Season 26: Caramoan aka Fans Vs Favorites the sequel! Would we call these castaways 'favorites'? listen to find out! This season had so much to unpack. We spend equal parts getting silly talking about the returning players & more seriously analyzing the places where casting (once again) fell short -- the negative impacts of the lack of representation & the exploitative nature of calling back Brandon Hantz. Plus we get into the very different styles of gameplay seen in our final 3. It's not all so deep though -- we’re pulling no punches in rapid fire where we’re sharing our favorite Cochran moments, best quotes of the season, whether we want to see a single one of the fans play again, and which of Dawn's many, many cries made us say: that’s enough. Be sure to subscribe to Escaping Reality & leave us a review/rating is you liked this episode. You can always follow for more content @EscapingRealityPod on Instagram & @EscRealityPod on Twitter. It's Redemption Island and redemption is certainly called for. We're unpacking Survivor Season 22: Redemption Island, but, honestly, it's less of an unpack and more of a narrow exploration into the one and only Boston Rob. We're spending a big portion of the episode talking about the man of the hour -- how he won, if it was impressive, why bring him back in the first place? But in a season that didn't have much (in our opinions) beyond the Rob-narrative, we've still got a handful of other topics to bring up. The addition of redemption island & returning players are discussed, but we're also breaking down the titular conflict of Episode 10: "Rice Wars" and revisiting the show's struggle with representation, and the handling of conversations that come up within the narrative regarding race. Lots to chat about for a season we didn't love. Plus, we're naming the entire cast (sans Boston Rob) as dishonorable mention... jk, but they might as well be. You can always follow for more content @EscapingRealityPod on Instagram and @EscRealityPod on Twitter. Be sure to rate/review/subscribe & tell all your Survivor-loving friends to listen! Blindsided in the third episode of Survivor San Juan Del Sur last week, the always talkative John Rocker sat down with Ben to chat about why he feels Coyopa made a bad move getting rid of him and how they will struggle moving forward, the truth behind the incident with Natalie and why this argument was building up to boiling point from previous challenge confrontations, as well as just how he would've faired if Redemption Island had been in play instead of Exile, letting us know where the idol is that he was voted out carrying and turning the tables on Ben and interviewing him throughout the chat!
That turned out to be a bit of twist. It is rare when a tribe opts to keep an older member over a much younger one. We managed to avoid controversy this episode which was very nice. There was some excellent gameplay from Jeremy and Josh. We got a really solid immunity challenge too. It is nice to have a new cast and no Redemption Island. Looks like we are off to a good start! How did your assessments of the new castaways change once you saw them in action? Were there any big revelations or realizations that you had misjudged someone?
