Second Chance Cinema is about to evolve. That's right-- MC and Spro will still be breathing life back into the movies that you may or may not have heard of their first go around, Rudy will still be reading our reviews to open the show, but for Year 7-- we're going to be focusing half of our episodes into STUNTS. That's right. The world the Academy is about to start acknowledging, we want to prepare you for all the high-octane, world-of-wonders stunt designers put together and performers risk their lives for. So, for Year 7, stick around-- it's going to be our most exciting year, yet!
Welcome to this bisected episode where in the first part-- Upon reflection, MC and Spro realized that they didn't do their newest segment called 5 Questions for The Punisher: War Zone. So, for a quick opening, they fix that error which gives MC more time to rant against the "ammo-sexuals" (as he calls them) that use the logo to symbolize something The Punisher wouldn't stand for. In the second part-- MC and Spro catch-up with their pal (and Review Reader) Rudy who just got done returning to the stage in Available Light's Production of You Will Get Sick in Columbus, OH. Listeners will get to know one of MC and Spro's favorite people on a higher level, and listen to one man's advice on how to keep the spark alive for the thing you're passionate about. Enjoy this very special episode of Second Chance Cinema!
For the first time in Second Chance Cinema history, MC and Spro sat down together to watch a film and then hopped right on the mics to talk about it. Maybe it's because this film is only 11 minutes long. But, despite how short it is, it truly packs a punch. If you want to watch it with them, you can find Power/Rangers here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wncYbIpm6hk Power/Rangers, or Power Rangers: Unauthorized, is an American superhero fan short film based on the Power Rangers franchise, and was directed and co-written by Joseph Kahn, produced by Adi Shankar and Jil Hardin, and co-written by James Van Der Beek and Dutch Southern. The short film featured an ensemble cast starring Katee Sackhoff, Van Der Beek, Russ Bain, Will Yun Lee, and Gichi Gamba. It was released on YouTube and Vimeo on February 23, 2015.
Several years ago, Second Chance Cinema Host and S.C.C. Guest Host Jeremy were sitting at work and came up with a brain exercise of picking the four best things in a pop culture category. Years later, they invited Spro and Rudy to join them and nominate, dissect, debate and elect their choices. To introduce the second season of The Mount Rushmore Podcast (recorded between Second Chance Cinemas 2nd and 3rd seasons,) we came up with a crossover idea of trying to figure out which of the movies we covered are the 4 best. If you like Second Chance Cinema, go over to The Mount Rushmore Podcast and give it a follow!
The Adamsons bring you the October edition of their magazine-style podcast for the discerning film nerd. The theme this month is Second Chance Cinema, featuring films which didn't work or failed the first time and we're having another look at them to see if we like them better this time. Our round up of news and new releases includes reviews of The Woman King and Blonde; 2022 A Kubrick Odyssey continues with the Shining; Our Classics and Recommended Feature is Get Shorty; our Hidden Gem is Alex Garland's Annihilation; our One That Got Away is Terry Gilliam's failed project to make The Man Who Killed Don Quixote with Johnny Depp (and the 2018 version he eventually made with Adam Driver); and our Remake Hatewatch asks if we were too harsh on Scorsese's version of Cape Fear first time around. Reel 2 is available to download now featuring our Big Conversation.
The second reel of the monthly podcast magazine for the discerning film nerd, in which the Adamsons bring you the Big Conversation. This month it's Second Chance Cinema, where we talk about films that didn't fulfil their potential, and how we the armchair experts would have made them better if Hollywood only listened to us. Reel 1 is also out now.
MC and Spro are back! And they are bringing all their friends! Join the hosts of Second Chance Cinema along with Rudy, Lee Charles, and Jeremy as they explore the caverns of cinema to find the hidden gems.

He joined us most recently for our chat about the Jimmy Stewart classic, 'It's A Wonderful Life'. We talk about Hans Zimmer and Hoyte van Hoytema, which of McConaughey's co-stars deserve the Apollonia Award, and why Ben wants to take this movie from it's place in the stars and put it in the dirt! Put on a happy face, because it's time to talk about 'Joker'! This week we kick off our newest round, "Second Chance Cinema", where we revisit movies that the general public seems to enjoy, but that we aren't huge fans of. In regards to this movie, all the hosts seem to have are negative thoughts. So we brought in the Podfather himself, and 'Joker' fan, Adam Palcher from Deep Dive Film School, to help us make cents of this movie. We talk about the powerful Joaquin performance, what the guys did and didn't love about the movie, and why this feels like watching a Martin Scorsese cover band. Spro & Lee recap some of the events from the 2022 Oscars ceremony, and MC (Spro's cohost of Second Chance Cinema) joins the boys for an in depth conversation about why the Oscars aren't for him.
Mike and Raymond take a nostalgia trip back to 1986 to revisit director Tobe Hooper's cult horror sequel "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2," which featured a lively, yet head-scratching performance by Dennis Hopper. They offer their thoughts on the critically panned horror film, which despite its many flaws, has become a cult classic. But does the film deserve a second chance? Mike and Raymond deliver their verdict.
This episode is all about second chances. Your Canuck Ambassador Melissa was inspired by a post from friend of the show Lisa's I Love That Movie Facebook page where someone essentially asked, "what was a movie that you didn't quite enjoy the first time but has grown on you the more you watch it?" Inspired, Melissa came up with the idea for this episode where she and Jarrad each talk about 3 films they didn't have the love for the first time around that they do now. Marvel at what influence Jarrad has had on Melissa's list and shudder at Jarrad's horrible Gal Gadot impression as for once in Nerdnited Nations history your hosts aren't on the same page list wise.
Join MC and Spro as they try and figure out how this movie got on their list of movies to talk about when neither of them have seen it-- but they're sure glad they did. Did you avoid Zathura because it looked like a Jumanji rip off? Did you know it is the unauthorized sequel to Jumanji? Does that make it all okay? Join the hosts of Second Chance Cinema as they stream this film on Netflix, talk about kids these days not being able to handle cannonball fire, and participate in the Wheel of Poetry!

Tonight, on a very special Second Chance Cinema, MC and Spro deal with peer pressure, underage drinking, and MC's addiction to caffeine pills so he can study for fina...JK! Welcome to Season 2!
It's our very first Second-Chance Cinema episode and we're packing in a double-feature doozy! Jason Pippin is in the house to talk about Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Two die-hard Alien fan-geeks talking shop about the franchise we love. What's better than that? Time to give a second chance to Prometheus and Covenant and POP THAT!
On HAPPY DEATH DAY we celebrate our previous failures (or the rare successes) in film discourse by checking out a couple of other movies podcasts giving cinema a second chance. THE POPCORN MUNCHER evaluate BLADE RUNNER 2049 and re-evaluate the original film and if they can separate the two as an individual work, while the hosts over at EX RATED have hopes that history will treat SCOTT PILGRIM VS. So join your hosts Michael Denniston of PROJECTING FILM and David Hart of POP CULTURE CASE STUDY as they discuss films that they have aged better or worse with the common thread that it is always our fault and never the filmmaker.
