Generalni sekretar Združenih narodov Antonio Gutteres je izrazil zaskrbljenost nad širitvijo izraelske ofenzive, obregnil se je tudi ob sporni izraelski načrt razdeljevanja pomoči v Gazi. Poudaril je, da Združeni narodi ne bodo sodelovali v nobeni operaciji, ki ne spoštuje mednarodnega prava in načel človečnosti, nepristranskosti, neodvisnosti in nevtralnosti. Mestni muzej Idrija je ena tistih dediščinskih ustanov, katerih ponudba je izrazito usmerjena v prikaz naravnih danosti razgibanega in hribovitega geološkega reliefa. Ozemlje obeh občin, tako idrijske kot cekljanske je zaradi pestre geološke zgradbe zelo ogroženo z zemeljskimi plazovi. Sprožajo se ob vsaki večji vodni ujmi in povzročajo škodo ter povečano ogroženost cestne infrastrukture, stavbnih objektov, objektov kulturne dediščine ter kmetijskih in gozdnih površin. To pa povzroča stroške tako državi kot lokalni upravi. Nova dodatna nevarnost pa nastaja zaradi vpliva klimatskih sprememb, ki se kažejo v povečani intenzivnosti padavinskih dogodkov. Tokratni gost, dipl.ing. geologije Jože Janež je sredi meseca v muzeju predaval o zemeljskih plazovih tega območja. Mi smo ga povabili pred mikrofon, in povzel je svoje dolgoletne izkušnje ukvarjanja tako z zemeljskimi plazovi, posebnostmi okolja in samega mesta Idrija, ki mu je pol tisočletja rudnika živega srebra pisalo tako uspešno kot posledično neuspešno plat kopanja rudniških rovov. Ti so skozi stoletja ustvarili krhko podzemlje, ki ga povečane padavine pripravijo do polzenja zemeljskih plazov. Sogovornik se profesionalno ukvarja z geološkimi raziskavami in projektiranjem že več kot 40 let. Zaposlen je bil na Geološkem zavodu Ljubljana, nekdanjem Ateljeju za projektiranje Idrija, devet let na Rudniku živega srebra Idrija, zadnjih 30 let pa deluje v podjetju Geologija d.o.o. Idrija. Predmeti njegovega dela so bili raziskave podzemnih voda na Krasu in drugod, kaptiranje podzemnih voda, ocene vplivov človekovih dejavnosti na podzemne vode, rudniška hidrogeologija, hidrogeologija odlagališč odpadkov ter inženirska geologija in geomehanika pri gradnji cest in stavb ter sanaciji plazov. The Streep Effect rolls on.  In this episode, Claire from Why the Flick? joins Spro and Lee to discuss something about some bridges, a rural county in Iowa, and a love that could not be.  

Piše Ifigenija Simonović, bere Eva Longyka Marušič. Govori, naslov nove knjige Boruta Gombača je zavajajoč, česar pa ni mogoče zameriti, saj je za knjigo, kot je ta, res težko najti naslov, ki bi jo enopotezno označil. Ob prvem listanju je jasno, da ne gre za poezijo, za dramatiko, za esej ali za pesmi, namenjene glasbenemu svetu, po čemer je Borut Gombač znan že več desetletij. Gre za govorjenje o vseh zvrsteh pisanja na pesniški, žurnalističen, priložnosten ali memoarski način. V uvodu skuša avtor pojasniti, kakšne vrste je pravzaprav knjiga, ki jo je pripravil. Pravi, da to ni "zbirka priložnostnih govorov", temveč da gre "za posamezne pasaže, pa ne le iz govorov, ampak iz revijalnih in monografskih prispevkov, intervjujev, dnevnikov, scenarijev, javnih in zasebnih dopisovanj, knjižnih razstav, klepetanj ob kavici in kozarčku". Torej mešanica, ki pa vendarle mora imeti skupno nit. Kljub razkropljenosti se izkaže, da zapise povezuje razmislek o celotni avtorjevi karieri z različnih zornih kotov in spod peres različnih piscev. Zbirko torej sestavljajo izbrani izpiski iz najrazličnejših objav. Posebej zanimive so interpretacije posameznih verzov ali pesmi ali pa opisi okoliščin, ki so pripeljale do določenih zapisov. Zbirka je razdeljena na štiri sklope, ki se nanašajo na predmete avtorjevega pisateljskega in knjižničarskega udejstvovanja, torej poezije, radijskih iger, literature za otroke, pesnjenje za glasbo in delo v knjižnici. Sklope povezujejo zapisi, ki so nastali v zadnjih dvajsetih letih. Borut Gombač velja za enega pomembnejših pesnikov svoje generacije, saj je avtor petih pesniških zbirk in dobitnik prestižne Veronikine nagrade. Njegove pesmi za uglasbitev so popularne, predstavljajo poseben in pristen mariborski song. Kot žirant za nagrado Viteškega turnirja se Gombač v intervjujih in drugih zapisih predstavlja kot obziren, neumoren in nepristranski bralec poezije drugih avtorjev. Slikovito opisuje tudi delo knjižničarja. Zaposlen je namreč v Univerzitetni knjižnici Maribor in zato postaja še posebej prepoznavna osebnost obdravskega področja. Hkrati posveča pozornost tudi literaturi za otroke, tako pravljicam kot radijskim igram. V knjigi Govori Borut Gombač govori o tem, kaj misli o svojem delu oziroma kaj o njegovem delu mislijo in sprašujejo drugi. Ta zbirka zapisov je temelj avtobiografije in avtorefleksije, ki jo dopolnjujejo izjave ali zapisi novinarjev, pisateljskih kolegov, obiskovalcev knjižnice in bralcev. Vse kaže, da Boruta Gombača najbolj poznajo Petra Vidali, ki je napisala tudi spremno besedo, Bojan Tomažič, Peter Semolič, Miroslav Slana, Zoran Pevec, Maja Šučur, Nino Flisar, Melita Forstnerič Hajnšek, Muanis Sinanović ter Milan Vincetič, znameniti pesnik in mentor številnim slovenskim literatom, še posebej štajerskim in prekmurskim. Gombač se v svojih razmislekih naslanja na široko paleto piscev, pevcev in govorcev od Aristotela do Andreja Brvarja in Tomaža Šalamuna. Zato je knjiga Govori tudi zgoščen prikaz misli intelektualcev prvega četrtletja 21. stoletja, pa ne le misli glede na predmet ali vsebino, temveč tudi načina izražanja, teoretiziranja, modrovanja. Med Jurčičem in Gombačem je pač prišlo do silovitih premikov v literarnoteoretskem načinu pisanja! S to knjigo Borut Gombač tako rekoč samozavestno zaseda prostor, ki mu pripada in ki bi bil brez izpostave zapisov o svojem delu ali pogovorov z njim manj izrazit. Če se s pesniškimi zbirkami predstavlja kot pesnik, ni hkrati prepoznan tudi kot dramatik ali kolumnist, če pa se predstavi z vsemi svojimi poklici in interesi hkrati, pa je prepoznan kot vplivna osebnost v določenem kulturnem okolju. Pesmi, igre, pravljice, kolumne dandanes niso dovolj. Knjige so mrtve, če niso odprte. To Gombač spoznava kot knjižničar in kot avtor. Avtor mora stopiti na oder, spregovoriti o sebi, se odpreti, dopustiti listanje, dokazati vseprisotnost in se celo angažirati na drugih področij, sicer je neopažen in prej ali slej pozabljen. Knjiga Govori je pravzaprav album samodokazovanja. Med branjem pride do občutka, da avtor stoji pred reflektorjem, ki se neenakomerno ugaša in prižiga, bodisi le za hip, za osvetlitev kratkega zapisa, ali za daljši čas, ki je potreben za branje daljšega odstavka. Mediji so po naravi nekaj bežnega, zato postajajo tudi zbirke kolumn nov žanr knjižnih izdaj, same kolumne pa krajše in krajše, saj mediji kulturi dodeljujejo manj in manj prostora. Gombač je najbolj neposreden prav v odlomkih iz kolumn, ki jih že vrsto let piše za časopis Večer. Sproščenost nakazuje ciklus "ob kavi in kozarčku", še bolj pa drobci iz dnevniških zapisov. V intervjujih pa je soočen z vprašanji, ki zahtevajo razmislek o temah, ki jih sam od sebe morda ne bi načenjal. Borut Gombač je s knjigo Govori odkril nov način predstavitve samega sebe. Razmah literarne teorije, poglobitev literarne kritike in samorefleksije lahko preglasi poezijo in jo celo premakne na spodnje police. To je edino, kar avtor kot pesnik tvega. Na srečo je s poezijo, radijskimi igrami in kolumnami že toliko uveljavljen, da mu nikakršna kritika ali teorija ne moreta sesuti statusa pomembnega sodobnega literarnega ustvarjalca, lahko pa ga podkrepita.

Svet si je nekoliko oddahnil - vsaj za devetdeset dni, kolikor bo trajala ameriška zamrznitev zvišanja carin. V tem obdobju bi se lahko kaj dogovorili, saj naj bi 75 držav zaprosilo za pogajanja. Izjema ostaja Kitajska. Za blago iz te države veljajo 125- oziroma skupno 145-odstotne carine. A tudi v Pekingu verjamejo v razum in končni dogovor. Druge teme: - V pogajanjih med Moskvo in Washingtonom v ospredju delovanje veleposlaništev. - Za nadgradnjo ljubljanskega onkološkega inštituta vlada namenila 42 milijonov evrov, dela naj bi se začela letos. - Celje v pričakovanju četrtfinalne tekme nogometne Konferenčne lige.
