The plague—well, its non-lethal variant—has swept over the Travis household, which has left yours truly and my kids more or less incapacitated. Remember how in last week’s episode I discussed how our brain can trip us up as we get closer to our goal? Well, sometimes the obstacles are external and completely out of our control. Like the flu. In these moments, we can either let the roadblock stop us from finishing or we find a way around it. I always opt to find a different route and I hope you will too. For this special occasion I’m revisiting one of the early interviews from my previous series, Healthy High Performer. My guest, Stefanie Frank is a TEDx speaker, copywriter, and co-founder of ‪Frankly Good Coffee‬, a company that believes in facilitating conversations around creative ideas and supporting innovation for themselves and others. She’s gone toe-to-toe with that limiting voice we all know that says “you can’t do that”, and learned how to push through it. Stefanie is passionate about the importance creativity plays in everyone’s life and wants it to be celebrated - which is why it’s the theme in her own business. To boot, she’s also part of my Mastermind group, Ascend. In this episode, Stefanie explores the unexpected path she’s taken to get where she is now, reveals the personal and very physical challenge she overcame, and suggests some handy ways you can unleash your hidden creative talents. The Finer Details of This Episode: - How Stefanie went from working as a litigation attorney, to writing copy for various websites, to founding her own coffee company, and what prompted her to shift gears in such a major way. - Why Stefanie’s husband Glen was key to pushing her from being unhealthy, overwhelmed and depressed to making a major change and pursuing a new dream. - The little voice in Stefanie’s head that pushed her to complete a triathlon and eventually the Silverman. - How exercise played a role in shifting  Stefanie’s confidence and how it helps her in her career. - The role creativity plays in Stefanie’s personal well-being and how she manages Frankly Good Coffee. - Understanding the forms creativity can take, and how to foster your own creative impulses. - How Stefanie’s fear of judgment has complicated her drive for success. - The three main men in Stefanie’s life and why’ve they’ve been incredibly important to her success. - The novel that made Stefanie realize that even the biggest, most complicated stories can come together in the end. - Stefanie’s challenge to listeners that she hopes you will take action on. Quotes: “I would have risked my relationship if I had ignored all that and kept going.” “If you’re gonna hire a coach, you should really have due diligence and make sure it’s a good match.” “I knew I could do whatever I set my mind to.” “Exercise has the obvious physical benefits but it keeps me straight mentally too.” “I believe everyone is creative innately even if you don’t work in a ‘creative job’.” “Sometimes you need to write the actual crappy thoughts that you’re having and you can just let them go more easily.” Guest Links: Stefanie’s homepage - https://stefaniefrank.com/ Fuel Your Creative Ideas podcast - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1481600549 Frankly Good Coffee - https://www.franklygoodcoffee.com/ Frankly Good Coffee on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/franklygoodcoffee/ “Tell Relevant Stories” TEDx Talk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lAWZufEY8M Show Links: Sign up for the Kelly Travis newsletter at http://www.kellytravis.net/newsletter.  The Spokes of Life free downloadable - https://kellythealth.lpages.co/hfs-spokes-of-life/ Ascend Mastermind - http://www.kellytravis.net/ascend

This week, I’m chatting with another highly ambitious woman who is part of the Ascend mastermind community, Kimberly Kindig. Kimberly is the CEO of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. A Las Vegas native, she’s worked in nonprofits for most of her career and is passionate about building and strengthening our community. But like many of us, Kimberly felt a bit out of alignment with her work and her life, and she knew she needed to move out of her comfort zone and take action towards creating change - both personally and professionally. In this interview Kimberly will share the remarkable transitions and transformations she experienced once she became crystal clear on her values and goals. From creating simple habits that improved her wellbeing to beefing up her confidence muscle so she could take a risk, she has definitely “ascended”. If you’re having difficulty figuring out how to get “unstuck” in your career or your life, and perhaps unclear about what you may even want, this conversation is for YOU. REMINDER!! My Ascend Mastermind’s current cohort is open for the next three weeks and starts in November. You will have the opportunity to work with other badass, ambitious women all year long as you work to reach your goals. If you want to master how you think, act and feel so you can create the business and lifestyle that you want, then apply at http://www.kellytravis.net/ascend. And be sure to listen to the end of this episode, where I delve into the changes that will be coming to this podcast very soon. The Finer Details of This Episode: - What was the biggest challenge Kimberly faced in her life prior to her joining my Ascend Mastermind. - Discussing the dissatisfaction Kimberly felt that propelled her to seek out the company and support of other driven women like herself. - What’s changed for Kimberly since she opened herself up to the reinforcement and shared trust of my Mastermind. - How Kimberly went about making the necessary shifts in her mindset and lifestyle in order to get the most out of Ascend. - Kimberly’s powerful advice for those currently on the fence about enrolling in my Ascend Mastermind. - BIG NEWS: Why I’m changing the name of the Healthy High Performer podcast, which important things will remain the same, and who you can expect to hear from for the remainder of the year. Quotes: “Working in the nonprofit space takes a lot of energy and passion and you have to be able to bring it every day.” “It’s okay for me to want the things I want.” “Making that change has really created space for me to be able to really take a look at my health and focus on healthy habits.” “The investment into Ascend is really and truly an investment into someone’s personal growth.”   Show Links: Ascend Mastermind - http://www.kellytravis.net/ascend Unapologetically Ascending: Less Self-Doubt and More Action with Stacey Wedding - http://healthyhighperformer.libsyn.com/19-unapologetically-ascending-less-self-doubt-and-more-action-with-stacey-wedding How a Stressed-Out Attorney Went from Self-Doubt to Self-Belief and Started Going After Big Goals in Business and Life with Stefanie Frank - http://healthyhighperformer.libsyn.com/frankly-good-advice-with-stefanie-frank Candlelighters homepage - https://candlelighters.net/

You’ve been checking off all the marketing tasks you were told to do. But after six months of disappointing results, you’re wondering what the heck is going on. Why aren’t you getting clients?! That’s the question this podcast season of Unforgettable has attempted to answer. Beyond interviewing experts like Stefanie Frank, Alexia Vernon, and Amanda Berlin, I’ve also chatted with new coaches and entrepreneurs about their experiences going from confused to clear. And from clear to finally getting clients. Plus, I’ve gotten on my soapbox a handful of times to talk about stuff like why using the “right” words in your message doesn’t really matter and how flowery language is hurting your business.I know you’re more than capable of filling your calendar with ideal clients. So my job is to make sure you have the tools so you can do that easily and effectively. That’s why today’s episode gives you one final tool to use before next season. In it, I ask six questions to help you figure out why you’re not getting clients. Together, we’ll narrow in on what’s stopping ideal clients from paying you. You might be surprised by your answers, and I hope they lead you to solutions that have been closer than you realized. Six Q’s 1. Has your message evolved in the past 6 months? How has it evolved? 2. Have you slipped back into talking about your tools versus the problem you solve? This is the time to reset that. 3. Where are you using flowery language? Are you saying exactly what you mean, being clear instead of clever? 4. Where might you be over-communicating? 5. Have you been scared to niche down? If you could niche down to be a little more specific, what might it look like? 6. In what areas have you been overthinking your message and letting perfectionism keep you from moving forward or putting yourself out there? What to Do Now: The season may be over, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways for me to support you. Here are a few free ways we can hang out during the break: 1) Join the Unforgettable Facebook group. - This group is for coaches and solopreneurs seeking feedback on the message behind their brands and offerings. Join here. 2) Get regular updates. - If you want to know when the next season airs, make sure you’re subscribed to the email list. I’ll mention how we can work together, but there are no strings attached. Book your free call here. And if you’re ready to do more focused, intentional work with me, here are a couple of ways we can work together: 1) Join the next round of Get Clear, Get Clients. - I run this virtual group program throughout the year for a select group of entrepreneurs who want to stop struggling to get clients. Find out when the next round is happening and read more details here. 2) Join the Fun & Fierce Coach Program. - Many new coaches give up when they’re just inches away from the tools that could lead them to success. Instead of struggling to get clients and offering your services for free, the Fun & Fierce Coach Program offers a 3-step system that will allow you to focus, remove the overwhelm and do exactly what is needed to take your coaching biz from feeling like a hobby to actually having clients pay you so you can finally begin helping people...and having FUN while doing it. How do you move a potential client to action? It’s not about pretty branding, belonging to the right Facebook groups, or even an archive of blog posts. What it IS about: the words we choose to use when communicating with that potential client. Lots of online gurus make copywriting sound complicated and overwhelming, and those of us who lead from our hearts get turned off by the fear of feeling sleazy and scammy. But there are basic principles that will help you connect with your ideal client in a connection-based and genuine way. In today’s episode, I dig in with my guest Stefanie Frank -- copywriter, trainer, and my speaking BFF -- into how to be persuasive when writing copy for your sales pages, newsletters, about page, and blog posts without making your clients feel sold to. When I stepped offstage after my TEDx talk, I felt in full alignment with my brand message. Anybody in the audience that day would have wholeheartedly agreed that I was passionate and clear. What they wouldn’t have seen, though, was that I wasn’t excited about the work I was doing with my clients. And as a result, I was making no money. Maybe, like me, you’ve realized that having a strong brand message isn’t enough. Or on the flipside, you’ve realized that loving the work you do with clients doesn’t keep your business in the black. If that’s the case then you’ll definitely want to tune into today’s episode because I’m diving deeper into why a lack of alignment on either of these levels may likely be what’s holding your business back.
