Does it make me more secure? Does it give me permission and freedom to expand and grow? The value of a partner is that they see you through different eyes and much more empowering eyes. To have someone see you like that, gives you permission to see yourself like that and to go out into the world and be that.”Guest Info:Paradox Process WebsiteBenshen Listeners FREE GiftFree Intro Session with Paradox Process FacilitatorThe Manifesting Lab: Mondays with Thomas M. In 1973, Thomas M. Jones was working with an addiction services agency, helping the “bad kids” who went through the court system and exploring ways to help people break free from negative patterns developed in childhood. It was there he made a radical discovery. When you think of kids trying to get high, you might assume they’re all looking for an escape. But Thomas realized that this isn’t the case for many kids. They’re looking to find reality, feel like themselves again, and relieve pain. Thomas also saw firsthand that most addiction treatments available to us are ineffective, and may even exacerbate the problem. He came to understand that core problem isn’t the drugs – it’s how we’re interpreting the human condition. That’s why Thomas created The Paradox Process. The Paradox Process combines scientific evidence and meditation method into a simple protocol that engages the impulse of neurons in the brain and redirects the pathways. It is a mindfulness tool you can use to identify, communicate, and change negative feelings and perceptions. Those who have the courage to confront themselves through The Paradox Process, in order to engage with the world and create the life they are capable of creating, will be rewarded with transformational, objective understanding. Are you tired of feeling depressed? Want to feel like yourself again, or maybe for the first time? Struggling with finding a fulfilling romantic relationship? Then now is the time to tune into this episode to learn more about Thomas M. Jones and The Paradox Process. Topics Discussed In This Episode: The two things that can really affect change in individuals suffering from addictions How the narratives we build around the sometimes-painful feelings that all human beings experience get us into trouble Some of the most common childhood experiences that set us up for unhappiness and negative patterns How using “key phrases” can subconsciously trigger a meditation process, even while you’re busy doing other things People think becoming spiritual will make them happy and make life easier – but real growth is not for the faint hearted Why is it so scary to face your lower self, or the “ugly parts” of yourself People claim to be afraid of failure – but they really fear success The 3 different levels of motivation: ego, money, and contribution Why working with people in pain pushed Thomas to write Love Games: The Hidden Rules of Relationship How the fantasy of relationships keep us from experiencing a deeper connection with our partners What it really means to “fall in love” The two most common reasons that people break up What you need to know about yourself and your potential partner before entering into a relationship How to engage in healthy conflict with your partner (AKA the right way to have a fight) More about this episode.
