We're back with solo episodes! In this episode, I dive into a technique and tool I have been personally using for years: Autosuggestion. I first discovered this tool while listening to a podcast with Bob Proctor where he shared how this practice that he learned from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill that powerfully changed his life. Starting as a personal blog, Lauren documented her personal journey of reducing her waste to zero.Lauren, who started living a Zero Waste 2 years earlier in 2012, first went viral for fitting a year's worth of all of the waste she'd created in one 16oz mason jar. In this episode, I'm joined by Chelsea Leyland, a London-born DJ, cannabis and epilepsy activist, and co-founder of Looni, a menstrual health and wellness company on a mission to elevate the menstrual cycle and democratize body literacy. Chelsea and I discuss how her experience of chronic illnesses and the pursuit of healing have deeply shaped her life and how that has led her on a path of advocacy work. Chelsea's determination to not give up, persist far beyond what doctors have told her is possible, and to actually do something about the injustices of the medical system is beyond incredible. Living with two chronic health conditions, epilepsy and endometriosis, has shaped Chelsea's life, as she now understands it, for the better. After suffering for many years from misdiagnoses and strong prescription drugs meant to improve her condition she discovered cannabinoids. The use of cannabinoids simultaneously began to improve Chelsea's experience of endometriosis. After reaching the end of the line with medical help from doctors, she was forced to look outside the box and self-study, and she shares the wealth of healing modalities she turned to and learned from instead. This is the source of one of her biggest platforms, that women are often not correctly diagnosed with menstrual issues, and even if they are, they are not provided with the tools to heal.Chelsea Leyland is a born and bred Londoner living in Brooklyn, NY.
