Join us as we come together with listeners around the world to encounter God's Word, be reminded of His love, and carry that love into our day. Absolutely! Here are 10 thoughtful discussion questions based on this episode of the Daily Radio Bible: The episode opens by saying that the Scriptures bear witness to Jesus rather than being life in themselves. What does this perspective mean to you, and how might it change the way you read the Bible? Nahum's prophecy against Nineveh comes 100 to 150 years after Jonah's. How does the contrasting message between these two prophets reflect God's justice and mercy? In what ways did Nahum emphasize both God's power and his goodness? How do you see these two aspects of God in your own life? The description of Nineveh's fall is vivid and devastating. Why do you think the Bible includes such detailed imagery when depicting the consequences of turning away from God? Jesus' statement in John 5:39, "You study the Scriptures diligently... yet the Scriptures point to me," is highlighted in the episode. What are the risks of focusing on religious rules without embracing the person of Jesus? The host mentions that some people missed God's love because they were consumed with control, rules, and judgment. What are some modern-day examples of missing God's love in similar ways? How does Jesus' healing at the pool of Bethesda challenge the religious leaders' views on the Sabbath? What message do you think Jesus was trying to convey through this act? The prayers at the end of the episode emphasize being instruments of peace, forgiveness, and love. How can these prayers inspire the way you interact with others today? The episode encourages listeners to recognize God's love already present in their hearts. What practices or habits can help you become more aware of God's love in your everyday life? Reflecting on today's readings and the discussion, how can you move from simply knowing about God to truly experiencing and living in God's love? Feel free to use these for group discussion or personal reflection! Absolutely! We're always told to live our best lives, but what does that really mean? In this book, coach Beck introduces us to the 10 daily practices that she believes will help us live more joy-filled lives. We're on chapter three, which dives into finding your heart's desire.Today, I meander with you from the hot tub, the site of my daily meditation practice. Truth be told, I've been struggling with this week's practice on Desire. I had a whole script written, but instead, by instinct, I set it aside and just spoke from my heart. You'll hear the hiss from the hot tub's filtre for a while, then the sound of the wind brushing the mic and the birds tweeting in the background. It's all real, I promise you! After that, I share with you what I have learned about stillness and how it has applied in my life. I keep coming back to this first practice as it is just that pivotal. Then we turn to the book and the topic of desire and how I have worked with that practice. I'm hoping you are reading along and so will learn also from Martha Beck herself as I stray a bit away from her work in this meander, and into my experience with it. I hope you'll enjoy this episode. Send us a textGabe Weis entered the world of NFTs in January 2021 with the same intuitive excitement he regrettably ignored when first encountering Bitcoin years earlier. This time, he wasn't going to miss the revolution. After a 20-year career in politics and community organizing—working for the Senate, unions, and education associations—Gabe's transition to full-time artist surprised nearly everyone in his circle. What they didn't know was that he'd been quietly painting almost every day since high school, using art as both meditation and a way to engage more deeply during the countless meetings his political career demanded. Those doodles, often gifted to meeting participants, were the foundation of a practice that would eventually lead him to the forefront of the NFT movement. What makes Gabe's perspective particularly valuable is how he bridges these seemingly disparate worlds. His community organizing skills transferred seamlessly to building collector communities, while his political understanding helps him navigate the complex social dynamics of Web3. Rather than chasing astronomical prices for one-of-ones, Gabe envisions a future where digital art creates a sustainable middle class of artists through more accessible pricing and innovative models like weekly limited editions or subscription approaches. Our conversation delves into practical insights about pricing strategy (including what Gabe calls the "dead zone" between 3-15 ETH), the advantages of low reserve auctions versus maintaining artificial floor prices, and the evolution of editions versus one-of-ones. But perhaps most compelling is his call for greater forgiveness in a space that can sometimes rush to judgment, and his emphasis on building genuine connections through simple practices like showing warmth and excitement when greeting others.Whether you're an artist looking to navigate the Web3 landscape, a collector interested in supporting creators sustainably, or simply fascinated by the intersection of technology and creative expression, Gabe's journey from corn fields to crypto offers a refreshing perspective on building community around digital art. Listen now to discover why thick skin, trusted advisors, and authentic excitement might be the most valuable assets in the evolving NFT space.https://x.com/GabrielJWeisSupport the show

Today, we're looking at chapter 2, called “Truth.” The practice in this case is all about getting quiet enough in our body and mind to hear what is true for us in this very moment. Beck walks us through just how we can do that. I also weave in a bit of my favourite Indigenous author, Richard Wagamese with a few excepts from his book “Embers: One Ojibway's Meditations.” If you are interested in reading along, you can buy her book from your local independent bookstore and join me each week to explore her offering.I hope you'll enjoy this episode. Authenticity is a word that gets thrown around a lot today and I think it's because we recognize that it's rare in today's day and age. With social media being a curated highlight reel, societal pressures, people pleasing habits, fear of rejection or not fitting in, it's easy to lose touch with our authentic selves. In today's episode I talk about daily, small habits you can implement to come home to yourself on a daily basis. Because being authentic isn't a one time journey to find yourself, you were never lost, you just got drowned out by all the noise. By implementing these daily practices you will learn to listen to that still small voice that is uniquely your, get in touch with your intuition, and learn to listen to your body when it's subconciously trying to tell you something. What if the secret to creating a truly inclusive workplace wasn't found in grand policies or mission statements, but in the small, intentional actions leaders take every single day? In this episode, we're joined by Jonathan Stutz, President of Global Diversity Partners and co-author of The Daily Practices of Inclusive Leaders, to explore how simple, consistent behaviors can reshape organizational culture. Jonathan introduces the concept of "dropping inclusive pebbles"—micro actions that, over time, build environments where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued.Drawing from his personal experiences growing up in Atlanta during the civil rights movement, Jonathan shares a deeply personal and professional perspective on why inclusion must come before diversity. He compares inclusive workplaces to welcoming homes rather than “leaky buckets” where diverse talent slips away. Through practical strategies like hosting meaningful one-on-ones, using the "pause button" to interrupt bias in meetings, and applying the “platinum rule,” he gives leaders at every level clear, actionable tools to foster connection and safety.Jonathan's core message is simple but powerful: inclusive leadership is leadership. These aren't side practices—they're essential for building teams that perform, innovate, and stay engaged. In today's diverse world, the ability to cultivate belonging is no longer optional. How did a former anorexic learn to hunger for God? On today's Flourish-Meant episode, we dove deep with Emily Wierenga, award-winning author and founder of the Lulu Tree, as she shared her powerful journey from battling anorexia to discovering how true fulfillment comes from hungering for God. Your pain has a greater purpose and you're never alone in your struggles. Let Emily's story inspire you to pursue healing, embrace your calling, and make a difference. Key Takeaways from Emily's Story: The Roots of Disordered Eating: Emily recalls how the loss of connection and early comments about her body triggered her battle with anorexia. She powerfully reminds us that comparison often lies at the heart of eating disorders, but true healing comes from connection, not competition. A Walk Towards Healing: From the brink of death at age 13 to relapsing after marriage, Emily shares honestly about the ongoing process of healing and the importance of confronting life's root issues—not just symptoms. Finding Purpose in Service: Serving her mother during a cancer battle and later founding The Lulu Tree taught Emily that healing can multiply when we serve others. Her experience reminds us that true joy and restoration often begin with blessing the person right in front of us. Daily Practices for a Hungering Spirit: Emily shares practical wisdom: set boundaries around daily distractions, start with praise and worship, spend intentional moments in God's presence, and protect your healing by knowing and avoiding your triggers. The Power of Worship over Performance: Emily encourages us to lift our gaze from ourselves and fix our eyes on Christ, discovering our true identity in Him. Worship isn't about working harder—it's about surrendering everything. Miracles in Obedience: You'll love Emily's remarkable story from Uganda, where a prayer for multiplication resulted in more resources than they could have ever planned—proving again that God meets us when we step out in faith.
