The producer and DJ Nina Kraviz is one of the most famous and successful artists in the techno world. Born in Irkutsk, Siberia, she fell in love with electronic music through listening to radio transmissions. Kraviz initially moved to Moscow to study dentistry, and after a brief stint in her band MySpaceRocket, she went solo with a string of productions on Efdemin's Naïf, Jus-Ed's Underground Quality, and Matt Edwards' Rekids. Her 2011 single “Ghetto Kraviz” and subsequent eponymous debut album catapulted her to into the spotlight, but she continued building her legacy as a champion of the underground with her expertly curated трип label. We spoke to Kraviz hot off the release of her new single “Skyscrapers”—her first solo release since 2019, and a bold journey into pop music. In this rare interview, Kraviz talks about her connection to home, her unusual career journey, and her love of the pop sounds of Roxy Music and using her voice as an instrument.
We are back with a guestmix by Owen Jay from Malta. Known for releases on labels like Underground Quality, Deep Explorer, Minuendo, Moods & Grooves, Contrast Wax, Housewax and on his own imprint Batti Batti. Not the first time you read this name hopefully. With this dope journey we celebrate his new album together with Melchior Sultana which just came out as Double 12" and digital called "Dream Landscape". Much fun with the 2 hours journey.

Virginia wears many different musical hats and always has. The Berlin based woman is a DJ, vocalist, song writer and producer who saw chart success early on in her career, as well as receiving underground acclaim for her album Fierce For The Night back in May 2016. She has written music with the likes of Steve Bug, has played a hybrid live and DJ set all over the world and has ties to labels like Ostgut Ton, Dolly Deluxe and Underground Quality. She has also famously provided vocals to some of Steffi’s most classic vocal tracks such as ‘Yours’, so is very much the voice of contemporary house music. Her podcast for us is entitled Greetings From My Garden - Music For The Heart Mix and shows off another side to the artist. It is made up of music more suited to home listening than dancing in the club, and features tracks from Massive Attack, Slam, The Orb, plus a new one of Steffi’s forthcoming album on Ostgut Ton. As such it’s a soothing listen of dreamy synths and comedown sounds, deep grooves and selection emotions that is the perfect soundtrack to the last days of summer.
Fred Peterkin is a man of many names; best known for his work as Fred P he also releases under Black Jazz Consortium, FP-Oner, FP197, Anomaly, the list goes on. But no matter what name he picks for each project there's an unmistakable sound that runs across all his work, and that sound is born from a passionate and unending dedication to underground house music. Hailing from New York City Peterkin has released an impressive number of records over the past decade working with labels like Jus Ed's Underground Quality and Mule Music alongside his own imprint – Soul People Music. And, while his style is deeply rooted in house music, he is by no means limited to the genre. As well as producing, he's also a natural DJ who blends expertly applied craft with a simple musical intuition that can't be taught. With an album under his Adventures of Captain P moniker dropping soon, and him passing through London to play Oval Space, we jumped at the chance to meet up with him in his hotel room and find out what makes him tick. Listen to the podcast, brought to you courtesy of Rode microphones whom without this would never have been possible...

Troels Knudsen lives in Copenhagen, Denmark and has been immersed in music for most of his life. This focus has mostly been fixed on the club world. And he spent the last 10+ years producing, performing, engineering and dj'ing various electronic genres around Europe and beyond. This activity generated the excentric Pyro drum'n'bass moniker, house works as part of 2400 Operator on Underground Quality and the industrial tinged techno project Northern Structures on Sonic Groove. After a few years of working in groups it was time to get back to solo work. In 2012 the Ctrls project was iniated with the release of the Interface EP on the new homebase Token Records. A remix of Ø/[Phase]'s Binary Opposition was the follow up, and by then Ctrls tracks had worked their way into the sets of some of the most notable techno djs across the world. Troels continues to develop his fast paced and futuristic style, seeking out the various nuances of techno and the surrounding genres. Future plans for the project hold more Token Records output as well as dedication to engaged and detailed dj'ing. Tracklist: 1. Lucy - All that Noise 2. Mike Parker - Lustration 4 3. The Avenue Red Podcast reaches double figures with an installment from Malta-based DJ, Producer and label boss Owen Jay. His Batti Batti imprint began as a digital label in 2009 with a dozen releases before it developed into a vinyl label in 2012. It's a project he has built from the ground up and the quality of output has been exceptional from the start, pushing a discerning style of house music full of groove and melody and a strong penchant for warm analogue sounds. As a producer, Owen has EP's out on a range of labels including Underground Quality, Minuendo and Moods & Grooves as well as his own label. As a DJ he has played all over the shop and has gigs upcoming at Panorama Bar in Berlin for an Underground Quality label party (28-02-2014) and also at Siroco in Madrid (21-03-2014). This mix sums up exactly how he works it on the 1's and 2's. Take a listen!
