Question or CommentCannabis may grow like a weed, but it doesn't mean that weed is worth smoking. There is a wide spectrum between shwag headache dust and the glory of the stickiest icky. How does one grow great cannabis? You can start by learning from master growers and breeders, like Matt Ross and Ethan Stockton of Deep Space Creations! They stop by to discuss the importance of good genetics, consistency in your grow environment, & the differences between live resin, rosin, and the highly undesirable "dead" resin. Plus a popular dispensary chain from another state breaks ground in Illinois on the News Joint Wrap, a citrusy sativa is Strain of the Week and a massive cannabis company calls it quits in three states!Hear more from Matt and Ethan at the Breeder Feature, February 17th, at Ignite Vape and Glass in Aurora!Support the showFollow the show on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram!Looking for cannabis products? Star Trek Picard Season 3 is right around the corner, and we're here for it! We chat about the trailer that premiered during the NFL Championship game (which is also when we discover Mike's knowledge about football), discuss what (or who) we're looking forward to most, and provide spoiler-free thoughts on what we've seen of this season. Before we get into everything Picard, we have a quick chat about Annie Wersching's passing - our memory of her roles in other shows, and the highlights of her performance as the Borg Queen on Picard Season 2. RIP Annie - we'll miss you!

Up until now, every morsel of food astronauts eat in outer space was created and packaged on earth. However, as we embark on the era of long-term space flight, NASA and other space agencies realize that that will need to change. As the Senior Project Manager for Space Crop Production and Exploration Food Systems for NASA, this is the problem Ralph Fritsche has been thinking about for the past decade. Ralph, who helped develop the Deep Space Food Challenge, works with his team to try and figure out how exactly they'll feed astronauts when they set up camp on Mars over a decade from now. If you've ever wondered about how we feed space travelers today and far into the future, this is the podcast for you!

On our first episode of the year, we have a special guest - Davey Willett, the host of The Treksperts Quiz podcast. Mike and Johnson were contestants on a recently released episode, and decided to return the favor by having Davey as a guest on Deep Space Pride. In addition to spending some time getting to know another Star Trek fan who's a member of the LGBTQ+ community - we chat about the 30th anniversary of Deep Space Nine and the two-part Season 1 finale of Prodigy, before we all drop by Deanna's office to share some life updates. We recorded this episode earlier in January, and talk about Trektalks 2 which took place on Saturday, January 14th. You can still go to https://trektalks.net to donate to the Hollywood Food Coalition and also watch the replay of the telethon. We also hope you'll go check out The Trekspert Quiz podcast which can be found all the places you listen to podcasts. Not quite sure how we're here already - but welcome to the end of 2022! We take a break from our regularly scheduled programming to do a quick recap of the year, which has us literally going through all the Star Trek we've watched this year. It's hard to believe that 2022 brought us 51 episodes of new Trek, but it happened! Of course, we also need to talk about what we're looking forward to in 2023. While Johnson persistently questions whether or not he'll even be able to stay alive, Mike is a bit more hopeful and anticipates some great Trek in the not-so-distant future. Special thanks to our fellow Trek Geeks Podcast Network podcasters Kasey and Ron for sharing a highlight or two of theirs for inclusion in this episode. We also want to thank all our listeners for sticking with us over the past year. From Mike's constant wi-fi issues to the Discovery soapbox that is always calling Johnson's name, we're just glad that you're all still around. See you next year!
E ae!Welcome to Deep Space Podcast! Many thanks for listening. The last show right in the last day of 2022! I'm glad to be able to publish one more episode for your listening pleasure. It's time for Terra's second speedrun of Disney worlds, with visits to Disneytown, Olympus Coliseum, Deep Space, and Neverland! In Disneytown we take our first dip in to Pete's backstory (and his secret history of playing both a heel and a face) along with Rumble Racing, the worst kart racer ever. In Olympus Coliseum, Hades is the next villain to pick up on the fact that Terra is an easy mark, but is disappointed when Terra doesn't really DO anything and so enlists Final Fantasy cameo Zack instead. In Deep Space, Terra befriends the ornery Experiment 626 and manages to see past Jumba Jookiba's admittedly weak deception skills. And in Neverland, Terra finally manages to get one up on his deceivers... but only after Hook tricks him in to fighting Peter Pan first.

Aliens. What more do I need to say. They are a wonder to us humans, as there is no definable evidence out there that we are alone or otherwise. That's why we, here on Lotsa Pasta, like to get stoned and talk about it - because there is no wrong answer. You can never be too calm or too crazy when talking about aliens. Got a personal experience, let's hear it. Had a dream about being anally probed, share with the class. Let's dissect this shit to the best of our abilities, yeah? On today's episodes, I have some of the most important scientists I know: Spum & Kumm. Wait, did I say scientists? I meant assholes. Another two weeks have passed, and we inch ever closer to the end of Season 1 of Prodigy! On this episode, we chat about "Masquerade" and "Preludes" - which has us find out more about Dal's past, see Murf become chief of security, get backstories on the other characters, and finally discover the truth about when Chakotay is. Johnson theorizes that the first chunk of Season 2 will have us go on a Chakotay rescue mission - only time will tell! Before we get into the episode goodies, we talk about everything else that's going on - the Star Trek we've been watching, Kirstie Alley's passing, our stint on the Treksperts Quiz Show, and an update on our personal lives. Thanks for joining us!
NASA's "Deep Space Food Challenge" calls on teams to come up with sustainable food systems for space exploration. WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe reports.
After eulogizing Alan Shepard, the first American in space, we will take a look at Apollo 15, what is often referred to as the most successful Apollo mission. It had everything - a beautiful location near lunar foothills, a rover - A CAR! - to drive around in, a memerable experiment broadcast for all the world to see, and the first every DEEP SPACE space walk. But despite this success, the end of the podcast might leave you thinking that something went terribly wrong. The Space Race series introduction music is Lift Off by kennysvoice. As always, a very special thanks to Mountain Up Cap Company for its continued help to spread the word about the podcast on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/MountainUpCapCompany Climb to Glory! For more information about the podcast visit: · The GoA website: https://www.ghostsofarlingtonpodcast.com · Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ghostsofarlingtonpodcast· Twitter: https://twitter.com/ArlingtonGhosts· Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ghostsofarlington/

Our hearts are broken by more gun violence against the LGBTQIA+ family with 5 lights being prematurely extinguished by a lone gunman at Club Q in Colorado Springs. We hope you'll join us in donating to a Go Fund Me page for the survivors, victims, and families at https://bit.ly/club-q-gfm This week, we chat about two more episodes of Prodigy - "All the World's a Stage" and "Crossroads" (and no we're not talking about the 2002 hit starring Britney Spears). From discussing TOS throwback references to Kate Mulgrew's nuanced contribution and performance to the show, we're enjoying the adventures of the Prodigy crew. But is there another extended break in the cards for season 1B of Prodigy?! We'll hopefully find out soon. In addition to the episode review, we have forced sharing time - and talk about how the fear of failure (Crossroads' weekly moral lesson from Kate Mulgrew) may have shaped certain decision points in our lives. And if you listen long enough, you hear an interesting story about a massage experience Johnson had in China back in 2014.

Back in October, astronomers were dazzled when a flash of light from the depths of space was detected by NASA's Fermi telescope, a trace of what scientists call a gamma ray burst. Is it something we should be worried about? Dr. Brian Thomas, leader of the research team studying astro-biophysics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Washburn University, joined “Something Offbeat” to explain this phenomenon and more. NASA audio included.

As part of RA2122, our ongoing celebration of 21 years of club culture, we''ll be featuring some of our favourite DJs from around the world, highlighting the parties or clubs most important to their lives in dance music. It''s safe to say that there would be no house music, no dance music as we know it, without François Kevorkian. The French-born, New York-based DJ started remixing disco records in the mid-''70s, when he was just a teenager, and became a pioneer of the form alongside names like Larry Levan, Tom Moulton and Walter Gibbons. And though he would become a house icon, he became especially known for the trippy "dub" mixes on the B-sides of records, which often eschewed the structure and vocals of the songs he was remixing in favour of excursions into the unknown. It''s that legacy that led him to Deep Space, his Monday-night residency at the once-legendary Meatpacking District club Cielo, which was one of the most beloved (and best-sounding) rooms in Manhattan. Deep Space started at 2002 and ran every Monday for over a decade. The idea was to explore "dub" in all its forms, and to play all kinds of music while manipulating it in real time. The slogan was "Live On The Mixing Board." At Deep Space you would hear all kinds of music. Dub, reggae, dub techno, drum & bass—and later on, as you''ll hear in this mix, dubstep—sure, but also disco, R&B, funk, old-school house. All music was dub in Kevorkian''s hands, and over the years Deep Space became one of the most renowned and consistent parties in New York, a place of refuge and discovery every single Monday (and, eventually, Sunday). This four-hour recording allows you to almost experience what it was like to be in that room—you can even hear the crowd whooping and cheering—as Kevorkian journeys through ultra-deep techno, dubstep and a string of funky disco and post-disco tracks. It''s a sound all his own, and though it was recorded 13 years ago, still sounds full of possibility and potential. Like the future. Read more at https://ra.co/podcast/854
