Humanity has searched high and low, inside and outside of mortality and eternity for an understanding as to why we matter to God. Our identity in Christ is constantly under attack by the enemy, and sometimes this heavy topic can seem to leave us with more questions than answers. Pastor Chad did a teaching series called, "You Matter" that answers this big question over a series of messages. He is a guest on today's podcast to give us direct insight on why we matter to God. Join us as we walk through the scripture to display the answer to this age-old question. One of the underlying questions I am seeking to answer throughout every episode is this single question; Are you a wise woman? The goal of this podcast is to grow you in wisdom so that you can become all that God would have you to be. I've had to learn so many hard lessons through experience that I value the quest for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Life can be really cruel sometimes, but with the application of wisdom, we can skip over some of those harsher lessons that have been learned before us. Tune in to this episode to self-explore. Dig deep into your heart, mind, and decisions, and reflect on the fundamental purpose of this podcast. Are you a wise woman? I know it may be hard to grapple with the fact that you very well might be a foolish woman. It's natural of us to automatically disregard negative things about our beliefs, actions, and behaviors, but... the truth is, you might be a foolish woman and not recognize it. I know that you've come to this platform because you're seeking wisdom, but it's high to look at what isn't wise - and that's being a fool. I emphasize "foolish woman" because the Word is clear in more than one place about what that could like. By the end of this episode, I want you to not only be able to confidently answer the question, but I also provide a path to leave those foolish ways behind and walk in the path of wisdom. On this podcast, we discuss a lot of what is wise or is the wise thing to do. Today, I want to discuss the opposite of wisdom - anger. Anger is the opposite of wisdom because of what unchecked anger leads to - sin. I know you may be thinking that you don't have an issue with anger, but I want you to tune into today's podcast and allow the wisdom provided here to challenge that belief. Tune in as I unpack the different types of anger (covert anger, cold anger, and hot anger), and how they could be destroying your life. Because we know that at some point in our lives, we will be angry, get ahead of anger by using the strategies provided in this episode. You may have heard it said before that the only real battle is between you and you. Although I don't agree with this statement, I DO believe that the key to winning any OTHER battle is to first win the one against yourself. Why do I believe this? Because the bible teaches us that we have a flesh and that flesh is at enmity (that means, at war and against) with God. It will fight every thing and every one divinely orchestrated to help you reach your God-ordained destiny. Tune in to this podcast to learn more about the four main methods you can use to challenge yourself to win the battle of You versus YOU. Have you ever experienced doing a particular thing, in a particular way, then God instructs you to His will? This is actually biblical as the Word says, "The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord" and "There will be a voice behind you saying, 'This is the way, walk in it.'" In today's episode, I share relevant experiences about having to be flexible in God. I want nothing more than to see you grow and flourish in your intimate relationship with Him, and this requires trust. In this episode, we dive into the important connection of biblical meditation while fasting and how to renew and reset the mind so that thoughts are aligned with the will of God and what you desire. Three key takeaways on how to realign your thoughts: 1. Ask God to show you, YOU. 2. Catch yourself and replace the thoughts. 3. Think on these things (Phil 4:8). It has been said that humans have the ability to think 60,000 thoughts in one day. I'm not sure how that was measured but I know for a fact it is quite easy to have a lot on my mind. The bible makes clear that our meditations are extremely important and directly connected to the lives we live out loud. The mind is an unseen realm, and one can only know what's happening by what is being shared by an individual or the inferences made by their life. In this podcast, we center on two main questions throughout our discussion of meditations: 1. What do you think about? 2. What is really on your mind and ringing through your subconscious? Welcome to the FIRST episode of season 5 of Wise Women with me, Jennifer Brianne! We are off to a wonderful start as we discuss the best way to fast. I know everyone loves a fresh start, and I'm sure you started this year off with some things you want to leave behind and some new horizons you wish to reach. I am right there with you. Sometimes, we have to get ourselves out of the way so that we can grow from one place to the next. The scripture calls this growing "from faith to faith". That denotes a level of growth, and by making a decision to fast, we are being intentional about our growth, our goals, and what God has for us! There are a lot of ways to fast, but in this episode, I teach the top three foci that I use to see the God things in my life. In this episode, we focus on why you should fast and I explain (1) Fasting from (2) Fasting for (3) Fasting to. More details about fasting are in Chapter 5 of my book, which you can purchase here: https://www.jenniferbrianne.com/product-page/the-power-of-the-secret-place-how-to-cultivate-an-intimate-prayer-life In this episode, I also mentioned my Facebook Group. 'Who better than you?' is a question that the Lord dropped in my spirit when studying the scriptures relative to our spiritual gifts. I was searching to learn more about the qualification of God and was answering questions pertinent to my own worth. God, in His infinite wisdom, said 'Who better than you?' I was left to answer that question in the stillness of the morning. I want you to answer the question as well. Listen in as I dive into why there isn't anyone better than you and why you should believe this. Meditate on this question and allow the Lord to download answers for you as well. The more I study my Word and the more I talk to other believers, I realize that we lack a fundamental understanding of God's nature. It's not always taught correctly, and with this podcast, I want to dive into three certainties we can expect from God. There aren't many things in the life that we can consider an "always certain" but these three things can always be found true about God. God will always: - Challenge you - Provide for you - Lead you That's a part of His nature and who He is. It's up to us to lay down our will and our way to come into alignment for assignment. However, I count it all joy to share so that you can skip error and receive this encouragement to do what God called you to. Only THREE short years ago I was releasing my first two books, and here I am, as Jennifer Brianne Curtis, ABD releasing the 5th. I am reminded of God's continual faithfulness, and also, how much energy I had when my life was my own (haha). Here is the confirmation you've been looking for. Tune in as I discuss three wisdoms gained from my experience on this purpose journey. They are; - Keep going. No matter how imperfect it is. You'll grow. - You can do it all, just not all at the same time. Pace, not race. - You can have it all, but it's better when God gives because He keeps, too. Can I tell you why it takes boldness? Do you know that you're going to need boldness? Today's episode is a continuation to some ending thoughts from last week's episode. If you haven't already, check that out too. The missing component that you're missing to fully go hard at what God has called you to do - is boldness. What does it take to be bold? 1. A LOT of belief in yourself 2. You HAVE to deal with fear 3. Being bold before the moment Listen in to today's podcast to hear the explanation for these points. If you followed the vision board hype it's time to cut that out and get truly focused on the work of your vision. Listen in to hear three key tips to writing the vision: 1. Decide what your vision is 2. Decide what the vision requires 3. A few weeks ago I had a life-changing encounter. I had an eye-opening experience in the midst of my frustration and disappointment around a lot of things I couldn't control. Has that ever been you? Tired, frustrated, not feeling your best and life is coming at you a million miles per hour and you don't feel like you can get help? And the few people/things you rely on don't show up for you? It's time to assess what you expect. The interesting thing about expectations is that we can only control ourselves. So, we adjust our expectations accordingly. Tune in to hear the three tips I provide on the key areas that need your assessment to help you avoid disappointment, hurt, and confusion. I want you to experience the freedom I found! The three main areas are: 1. Assess what you expect of yourself 2. Assess what you expect of others 3. Assess what you expect of particular situations and what you can control in them Why does it matter? You should assess what you expect so that; - You are not disappointed, hurt, or confused - You can set your expectations accordingly - You can correct wrong expectations to experience freedom Do you have the wrong expectations? Have you ever heard someone say, "Brace Yourself"? Normally when someone says that, it's on the cusp of bad news. They're mentally and emotionally preparing you to hear something that you may not want to hear. This week, I want to challenge you to move away from the practice of 'Bracing Yourself'. I want you to take on the practice of Gracing Yourself. Gracing yourself through transition is key to changing the way we make it through transition. Today I want to highlight three ways we can Grace Ourselves through transition: They are; 1). Rest in the strength and power of God. 2). Do less, trust more. 3). Rely on the help. Tune in as we learn to Grace Ourselves! Scripture references from this podcast can be found at; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 11:6; Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 11:28; Psalm 23:1-3a Click the link below to support this podcast. Life is full of transition. It's all around us. There is always constant motion. Just like natural seasons have a set time to change, so do the seasons of our lives. That makes transition an inevitable part of our lives. Change is bound to happen, and that's why one of the most important things we can learn is how to transition in life WELL. Listen in as I cover three tips on how to transition from season to season in life. Here are the three tips that will be covered today: 1. Don't lose what you gained in the last season as you transition to the next season. 2. Reflect on where you were, and also where you're going. 3. Do not get stuck in transition. Here are the scripture references covered in today's podcast: Ecclesiastes 3:1; Ecclesiastes 7:8-11; Jeremiah 29:11; Deuteronomy 31:8; Joshua 1:9; Ephesians 2:10 Click the link below to support this podcast. The first part of 1 Peter 5:7 says to "Cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you", but do you actually? This is an aspect of prayer that is often overlooked, and today we're going to talk about it. Today's podcast challenge is to think of 3 cares that you've brushed off or stuffed to the side of your mind. Challenge yourself to cast those cares to God in prayer. You will see how much weight you're carrying, and even more, how much better you are without it!! Tune in to hear about casting your cares! Click the link below to support this podcast. Are you tired? Emotionally and spiritually fatigued? Is it affecting your prayer life? Are you called to pray but find it hard? This podcast is for you! In my last podcast, I simply prayed for the listeners and found several people who are called to pray needed to hear that prayer. This week, let's talk about prayer fatigue and returning to the heart of prayer. Scripture references used for this podcast are as follows: Nehemiah 8:10 - "Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” (NLT) 1 Thess. 5:16-18 - 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT) James 4:3- Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. (KJV) James 5:16 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV) Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (KJV) Ephesians 6:18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (KJV) 2 Corinthians 4:18 - While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (KJV) Hebrews 12:1 - let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. (KJV) James 1:3-4 - Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
