Jules is currently Education Director at Arts Live Theatre where she has directed and choreographed over 30 shows, as well as taught countless classes and workshops in acting, comedy improv, musical theatre and more. As a rostered Arkansas Arts Council Teaching Artist, Jules has taught and directed youth theatre in NWA for 15 years, including as an actor in Digging Up Arkansas, produced by Trike Theatre and Walton Arts Center, teaching Arkansas history through theatre and music to grade schools. Jules has performed over 400 shows in every county in Arkansas! She is Ms. Jules of SHAKY BUGS, performing with her guitar and tutu to the under 5 crowd in a song&dance extravaganza! She is a team member of Phunbags Comedy Improv and a company member of Ceramic Cow Productions, and has been on the board of the Fayetteville Film Fest for 10 years. Joy Caffrey, Christie Daniels and Wendy Love Edge interview musical powerhouse Rochelle Bradshaw in Episode 19- Family, Community and Music with Rochelle Bradshaw Rochelle Bradshaw is the proud owner of a powerful, unique voice and her mesmerizing renditions will leave the listener breathless…wanting, yearning for more. Rochelle now lives in the USA but she was groomed in Portland, Jamaica. She embraced singing from an early age, and by the time she was thirteen years old, she was already a member of her local church choir, school choir and a local band. Her deep passion for music soon drove Rochelle from her quiet, sheltered life in Port Antonio to the resort town of Ocho Rios where she quickly became a sought-after vocalist for various bands, playing the hotel and club scene in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. From her new base many new opportunities unfolded for Rochelle. Reggae producer Barry O’Hare ( X-Rated Records) quickly recognized her extraordinary gift and enlisted her for recording sessions which led to collaborations with other producers like Bobby Digital ( Digital B) and Dean Fraser and many chart-topping artists such as Sizzla, Anthony B, Duane Stephenson, Tarrus Riley and Luciano. Her vocals are also featured on two Grammy winning albums Burning Spear Calling Rastafariand Damian Marley’s Stony Hill. Rochelle, who comes from a lineage of distinguished musicians, the late Anthony Bradshaw (father) & Devon Bradshaw (uncle), currently performs with Stephen Marley son of legendary Bob Marley and has toured the world over with some of Jamaica’s finest artists Garnet Silk, Luciano, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Joseph Israel & The Original Wailers. Rochelle describes herself as a humble roots daughter, mellow and easy-going. She mostly writes her own lyrics and the themes in her songs are about her own life experiences.She resists putting a particular brand or description to her music except to say it is soulful, hard-hitting and powerful reggae. Sue Coppernoll’s bio: Sue Coppernoll is a retired counselor, a poet, and Mother of five kids produced in six years in the 1950's - before the pill! Married to Dean for 68 years, born in Galveston, Sue has lived in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Arizona, Iowa, and Illinois. Her degrees are in English and Speech from Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA, and in Social Psychology from Northern Illinois University. Sue has been an administrator of Social Service Agencies: Planned Parenthood, the YWCA, Children's Development Center, Child Abuse Prevention, and Elder Care facilities. Sue was Certified by AASECT as a Sex Educator and Counselor in 1973, after which she was a speaker and consultant to colleges. universities, schools, and community groups in the Midwest, including the University of Oklahoma. For 20 years Sue owned her consulting firm, Crossroads Change Management, in Oregon, IL. In her training and counseling, career coaching for women and women's empowerment was an important part of Sue's work. Sue was ordained to a Bi-Vocational ministry in the Church of the Brethren at age 61 and for 16 years held responsibility for Ethics Training of Clergy in the Wisconsin-Illinois District of the Church. Sue is the author of a chapbook, "The Goddess and the Golden Child" published in 1995. Her poetry was orchestrated by Jules Taylor into the Staged Reading "An Old Woman Speaks", presented in Fayetteville in 2018 and 19. Her poems were published in feminist and spirituality journals 1980-2012. Sue has hosted "Writing as Spiritual Practice" groups, Women's Spirituality Retreats, and Workshops. She is writing a novel, "Maudie'Story", about a young mother, a survivor of incest, who kills her own child, loses her voice, and remains mute throughout her life, the story told through Maudie's thoughts. Sue, a Military Brat, a Corporate Wife, a Southerner displaced in the Midwest of America for 60 years, lives in Fayetteville Arkansas, where she says her Spirit is finally at home. In this episode Joy Caffrey, Christi Daniels, and Wendy Love Edge visit with Tanatra Carr. Tanatra Carr was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas 11/30/1978. She’s lived in Fayetteville all of her life. She has a daughter named Promisee that is 8 years old, and a golden retriever named Brawnie. Promisee is her reason and incentive for everything that she is trying to accomplish in life. It’s for her. Tanatra is leading by example and giving her daughter the structure that she needs to become a responsible, independent young lady. Tanatra is currently practicing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a clinic and also works in Mental Health Inpatient in a hospital setting. She’s a student at the University of Arkansas in the LPN-BSN program for nursing. Tanatra loves to sing, write poetry, listen to music, read, and travel. She’s interested in architecture and loves entertaining family and friends. Tanatra has had a radio show in the past called Words for the Soul that was centered around poetry with an open forum. Different topics were also discussed and it was great for public speaking and also allowed her to decompress. Her goals are to get a Master’s Degree to teach nursing education and to be a radio personality at night, because she loves the spontaneity of it and it calms her and gives her inner peace. Sunshine is an on-air personality, emcee, and storyteller with more than five years of experience in the industry. You may know her from That’s What She Said, NWA Fashion Week, recognize her voice from Sunshine after Dark, or many other events she can be found hosting around Northwest Arkansas. Sunshine’s “day-job” is a hairstylist and salon owner. She has owned Shine Salon on the south side of Fayetteville for 15 years. A graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BA in Drama, Sunshine moved to Chicago to train at the world-famous Second City Improv Theatre. There, she graduated from the elite Conservatory program before moving back to Arkansas to call it “home.” Sunshine can be found baking award-winning pies, clogging, or most importantly, spending time with her Mini-Aussie named Penny. And yes, her real name is Sunshine. Talking points: How do you define success? Happiness, or the unhurried pursuit… finding joy in the little things and continuing to learn and be a more fulfilled human How are you living life on your own terms? I have owned my own business for 15 years. I have slowly learned not to settle and therefore have lived alone, mostly worked alone, and kept the most important things sacred- the people I love What challenges have you overcome? So many and yet nothing more than the average human. My challenges - Parents divorce when I was 11. Knowing my boundaries as far as work and relationships Being an only child and both parents having been through many ailments- cancer etc and care giving for both of them. My father's death in august of 2018 What has caught you by surprise on your journey? I am actually in control of how I face each day. I am stronger than I ever thought. The gift of being there when my father died. What can you offer to other women wanting to feel more comfortable in their own skin? More than 90% of what anyone says or does to you has nothing to do with you. If you can understand that everyone walks on with their own baggage. In 2018 she became Fayetteville Arkansas’ first Latina City Council Member. Her bio: Sonia Gutiérrez completed a Bachelor of Science in microbiology in 1996, and a Bachelor of Art in graphic design in 1998, from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. While an undergraduate, she studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain and attended the Universidad de Salamanca to study art history and graphic design with a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. In 2002, she completed a Master of Fine Art in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design in New York, New York. In 2003, she returned to Fayetteville and founded New Design School in 2006 and Atelier NDS in 2007. In May 2009, she was invited by Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan to lead the Creative Economy Action Group. Today, she practices graphic design and web design in her roles as founder and CEO of 501c3 Design and NDS Press. She teaches graphic design at Northwest Arkansas Community College. She just recently founded the company Easel, which like an easel, provides a three-legged foundation of sales, operations and finance to bolster a creative’s products or services. BIO - Patti Steel is an eccentric multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter. She plays clarinet, mandolin, guitar, bass guitar, spoons, washboard, tambourine, kazoo, slide whistle, train whistle, nose flute, flute, bassoon among many others. She is always willing to learn more too. Not only does she play many instruments, Patti also sings harmonies and lead vocals in many projects. Don't be surprised if she ends up in your jam sessions, it is her biggest passion just playing music for the soul. Originally, she is from SW Missouri but now resides in NW Arkansas in the heart of the Ozarks. Recently, Patti Steel has started writing and co-writing music to start performing solo or in smaller more intimate projects. She brings to the table a huge spectrum of genres from her 20+ years playing music in so many projects/bands. It spans from folk, bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock and country. Her hunger for music is insatiable and shows when she performs. She grew up around music and has played and supported music since she was very young. Currently performing regularly with: The Trashcan Bandits, Steel Skye, Skye Pollard, Chucky Waggs and the Company of Raggs, Johai Kafa, Honey Shuffle, The Honey's, Randall Shreve and the DeVilles and many more.... Patti also has a BA in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and Print Media as well as a MA in Communication with an emphasis in Documentary Photojournalism.
