Sometime after 10 p.m. on April 21, 2006, 21-year-old college student Nina Ingram was brutally murdered inside her apartment in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It became big news, at the time it was one of only two unsolved murder cases in Fayetteville since the 1970s. Police interviewed Nina’s neighbors, her boyfriend, her friends and family but failed to identify a single suspect. Her case went cold. Until six years later in 2012 when a 26-year-old man named Rico Tavarous Cohn was arrested and charged with Nina’s murder. If you have a case you’d like the Hell and Gone team to look into, you can reach out to us at our Hell and Gone Murder Line at 678-744-6145. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How do you measure the impact of you business? We talk about metrics mostly related to finances and judge success accordingly. But the deeper and more fulfilling impact a coffee shop can have is based in relationship. You may ask yourself the question, does what I am creating or have created have “heart and meaning”? If your answer is yes and you stick to it long enough, you might end up with a legacy similar to our guests today, Cindy and Cary Arsaga In 1992 Arsaga Coffee was founded in Fayetteville Arkansas and this month marks the 30 year anniversary of Arsaga's. Cindy and Cary have been serving generations of people through their unique, warm, and welcoming shops. Their goal has always been to provide a space that fosters true community, connection, and the positive life change that results. Today they are pillars in the North West Arkansas community and continue to serve great coffee in authentic spaces with simplicity and integrity. Arsaga's was the first coffee house I was a regular of and where I first learned to love coffee and the coffeehouse as a dynamic space. I was not only the catalyst for my career but it was the force that inspired innumerable lives. Needless to say this a really special episode to me. So today we get to hear the story of how Arsaga's was born from an, how it grew organically and with soul, how they took on bigger projects such as baking, food, and roasting, all while staying true to their roots of “Heart and Meaning”. We cover: How coffee basically saved Carries life The epiphany Goals for creating community Beginning the journey and finding their way Early inspiration and creating energy and a community space Staying true to yourself Fostering connection Learning how to operate a public space The journey of roasting and scaling without losing culture Hiring the right people Creating magic in peoples lives Going from organic growth their intentional development / being organized Working with family Challenges, lessons, and proud moments Links: www.arsagas.com Instagram @arsagascoffeeroasters Related Episodes: 329 : How to Teach Company Values to Your Staff 018: Hiring, Culture, and the Future of your Shop Bridging the Values-Actions Gap 208: Building a Company that Cares w/ Kyra Kennedy of Baratza 166 : Founder Friday! “Success and especially significance, follows the path of the depth and the breadth of relationships.” Rick West The ability to tap into real time data, and to collect it in an effective and efficient manner is vital in the current business environment. The need to know and understand what is happening in real time can provide useful insights that businesses and individuals can use to make meaningful and impactful decisions. Rick West provides unique tools that make it possible for people to access real time data wherever they are, and says that part of it is in understanding the power of the voice of the crowd, and leveraging on it to solve problems. Rick West is the CEO and Co-Founder of Field Agent, a global Work-On-Demand Platform. Prior to starting Field Agent, Rick worked 16 years with Procter & Gamble in various assignments in the United States, Hong Kong and Bangkok. Since leaving P&G, he has been a start-up Entrepreneur for 19 years. Rick has co-founded multiple start-ups, including the Northstar Partnering Group, CORE4 Research, JOYN, and most recently Field Agent. He is a mentor and speaker within the entrepreneurial community and an active board member. He is also a member of the global Endeavor Entrepreneur network. Rick is an 8 wing 7 and has a BBA in Personnel and Industrial Relations with a minor in Economics from the University of Kentucky. Rick is the husband of one, father of 3, grandfather of two and a friend to many. Rick and his wife Kim live in Fayetteville Arkansas and they attend Harvest Fayetteville church where rick is currently serving as an elder. They both attended the University of Kentucky and are college basketball fans. In today's episode, Rick talks about the importance of real time data and how his technology helps both users and business owners achieve their goals. Listen in! Social Media Handles https://www.fieldagent.net/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/rickwest01/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/field-agent/ What I realized early on in my career is that solving problems was a really good thing. In April 2010, we launched the first app in iTunes that paid cash, that used geolocation and metadata to provide real time data to masses. In an effort to solve a problem for me, I realized that everyone had the same problem and therefore saw an opportunity to scale it. Part of what we started to learn on the user side, is that we were helping people that were down on their luck, which felt good. For entrepreneurs, they were able to know within a short time and minimum cost, whether customers liked their products or not. The best advice I was ever given to me as an entrepreneur was that you are only as good as you invoice and collect, and that the Holy Grail is if the customer buys it again. If strangers are willing to pay you for your product, and they renew, go drive it by all means because it means that the market has spoken positively. Commercial Break We realized early on from a user base standpoint that we needed to have advocates that were not being paid by field agent, but were just passionate about the product. The second thing was understanding the power of the voice of our crowd and knowing how to leverage on it to solve the problem. If you've got a great product, word of mouth really is a thing and that goes back to the advocacy. You cannot keep asking friends and family if your baby is cute, you've got to go find strangers because they will tell you the truth. Even if you're not a technology person, our app is not that intimidating and is pretty basic. Relationships matter, and success and especially significance really follows the path of the depth and the breadth of relationships. ………………………………………………… Do you want to be a go to expert that news reporters, anchors and media producers turn to? The Salvation Army will soon begin a large remodeling project that will nearly double the capacity of the shelter in Fayetteville Arkansas. The project will separate the addiction recovery program from the shelter and expand the overall capacity from 26 to 48 total beds. The women's and men's dorms will expand, and the center's existing family dorms will be converted into two apartments with 10 to 12 beds for families, including private bathrooms and a shared kitchen. The remodel will also include a new computer lab to help guests find work, take classes, or reconnect with family or friends. By nearly doubling the capacity and adding essential resources that the guests normally don't have access to, The Salvation Army can continue serving the most vulnerable and meet human needs without discrimination. This new project will allow shelter guests to feel more comfortable and provide an overall higher quality of living. Digital marketer isn't one of those occupations that kids in school blurt out when they are asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Thankfully, a book came out in 2019 that lays out very plainly many of the things I wish I'd known when I joined this profession. Becoming a Digital Marketer has elements that are tactical but it also weighs in on existential questions like ‘what kind of lifestyle can I have being in this field?' and ‘should I work client-side, agency-side, or be my own boss?” Though I've been at this for decades, I'll admit that I learned a number of things in the book, both about marketing and about Kombucha, which was the product used throughout the book's marketing tales. Once our guest, Gil Gildner, got out of school, he worked in media for NGOs, where he traveled to over 45 countries, wore hazmat suits in Ebola units, and rode Ugandan motorcycles. Realizing that he wanted to survive into his thirties, he started doing marketing for a company that sold around-the-world airfares. It's in this company where he met his wife Anya, a paid search specialist. Listen to our conversation for more of the interesting story of how Gil and Anya wrote this book and founded an agency which they operate from wherever they are. Today he happens to be in his hometown of Fayetteville Arkansas, near Walmart world Headquarters People/Products/Concepts Mentioned in Show Lambo guy Sonia Simone's blog post that says about Internet Marketers: ‘they spend 16 hours a day working so they can make money while they sleep.' Why is it that as consumers, we're able to search for a product, add to cart, and complete a purchase in a matter of seconds, but as a business, everything leads to, "Schedule a demo" or "Contact Sales". On this episode of Link Up Leaders, we're speaking with Rick West, CEO and Co-Founder of Field Agent to hear how Field Agent is revolutionizing Click-To-Cart solutions for B2B services. --

I had the pleasure of speaking with Ron Gitelman last month and am excited to share the interview with you today! Enjoy fabulous music too!In Ron's own words:" I was born in Denver and moved with my parents to Fayetteville Arkansas shortly afterwards. We were one of very few Jewish families in a university town that today has grown significantly. I had many Christian friends who would share the Good News with me and at 16 made an initial commitment to Yeshua. However I fell away from that commitment but in my freshman year of college at LSU I recommitted asking Yeshua to show me He is real. Since then I helped build a student led Bible Study at LSU that is still going strong today. I moved to San Francisco and became involved with Jews For Jesus and went on staff for two years before realizing that wasn't my calling. After moving around I settled in New Haven CT and after a divorce that caused much pain God brought my current wife into the picture just over a year later. I started attending Congregation Simchat Yisrael in 1998 and became an elder in 2001. I have been serving as President since 2010 a position which I will be turning over in 2021. My wife and I have been married for 20 years and have 3 wonderful children and are fierce advocates for Messianic Judaism."
