Celena Kipping, agronomist for SW Missouri and SE Kansas joins me today to talk about the Site of Action (SOA) 2 chemicals. This large chemical family uses a mode of action that inhibits the synthesis of amino acids in the plant. These building blocks of cell membranes are critical to plant development and its life. Please watch this video to understand why it is so important to time applications, use overlapping residuals, and spray weeds when they are small. This video focuses on ALS chemistries in general but is more geared toward fall to winter to spring programs that can get you started with weed control on the right foot. The nitrogen nutrient is a challenging topic due to a variety of factors that change its bonding to the soil The nitrogen cycle also changes in its physical and chemical form. This creates nitrogen loss risks, lack of availability to the plant, and even its location in the soil and atmosphere. It can reside in the soil as ammonium with a positive charge or convert to different forms of nitrate as a negative charge. After that it can volatilize and become a gas, leaving the soil due to anaerobic bacteria to become lost in the atmosphere. Here is a brief deep dive to cover one piece of this puzzle. Joining me is Celena Kipping, agronomist for SW Missouri and SE Kansas to discuss this important nutrient in a successful crop.   TOP Ag Services is a Beck's Hybrids seed dealer. My friend Ben and Rebecca Lesue (parents of nine, recently moved from SW Missouri to Monument Valley Utah, non-binary/queer child) join us to share their story. They start with their journey to understand LGBTQ Latter-day Saints following Rebecca's brother coming out as gay. They then share the story of their own child coming out as queer/non-binary then stepping away from the Church. Rebecca talks about learning “her job is not to cause them to turn out a certain way” but to “love and nurture”. Ben and Rebecca then talk about the 5th Sunday lesson they gave in their Ward about faith transitions. They talk about models of faith including simplicity, complexity, and harmony. Ben talks about how he learned his own “faith crisis” is normal, healthy, and positive. He talks about the work of Jared Halverson (LDS Institute Teacher) to normalize faith transitions. Ben and Rebecca talk about how fear and doubt are not opposites of faith—but part of developing a stronger and more sustainable faith. Ben and Rebecca discuss how this whole process has strengthened their marriage and their relationship with God, enabled more love for others, and facilitated sustainable membership in the Church. The Lesue story is a beautiful and powerful family love story. I was so moved listening to and learning from them. If you have a family member who is queer and/or are going through a faith transition and desire to stay in the Church, their story will help you. Thank you, Ben and Rebecca, for being on the podcast and your work to bring us together and create Zion. Johanna's heartwarming accounts of her mother's faith in God carried their entire family through multiple tragedies. This month’s podcast is going to be a little different than previous months. While we haven’t quite reached one year of podcast guests, we are approaching the one year mark of beginning the Jesup Group effort at Crowder College. It’s a perfect time to reflect and share our progress to this point.  Over the past year the effort has evolved to focus on three key areas: Assisting with the development of a rural entrepreneurial culture in SW Missouri. Strategic regional and community development How to connect our rural students and residents to digital skills that will be essential to participate in an increasingly digital economy. As I reflected this past fall on how this effort began and has evolved, I ran across a video from a servant leadership conference we had  The title of the video was “Crowder College Servant Leadership Conference - Rick Webb - Grit Studios.”  In the fall of 2019 Crowder hosted our first ever servant leadership conference and Rick Webb was one of our keynote speakers. Rick is a retired Walmart executive, a self-described agitator, and founded a startup accelerator called Grit Studios in Bentonville, Ar. The title of his talk was “Raising our Capacity to Serve Our Community.”  As I watched the video and listened to his talk again, I realized this talk, really the entire event led to Crowder’s efforts to begin the Jesup Group effort.  A year and a half later I realized Rick was true to form and agitated us at Crowder. I hope you enjoy this podcast and become agitated to see how you can further develop your communities. Below are links to the resources Rick mentions in his talk. A long time ago while deployed, a group of Green Berets came together and formed a group we called ourselves the COWBOYS, because the US military have always called us members of the Spec. Ops. community a bunch of Cowboys because of the way we operate and after the original group of men from the late 1800's who called their selves the Cowboys. For reasons of men on our team are directly related to the original Cowboys members of the late 1800's and the original Cowboys were the first organized group of men who stood together for their freedom in the history of the United States. many years ago members of the United States Special Operations community who lived in the area of NW Arkansas, NE Oklahoma, SW Missouri, and south Texas got together and formed the Motor Cycle Club called the COWBOYS MC III%ers . We are a solid group of men from the US Spec. Ops, US military, Merc's, and Militia.   From the start we stood for freedom at all cost. We have fought tyranny at home and abroad. We have fought in wars against terrorism on many fronts as Cowboys MC in the US military and private military organizations. Many terrorist have been killed by men wearing the COWBOYS MC colors in combat. COWBOYS MC have fought in places as Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, South Eastern Asia, and in South, Central and North America. We have worked very hard for  the reputation we now have and our freedom to be COWBOYS MC from many organizations of tyranny. We will continue to fight tyranny where ever it pops up to stand for our freedom and to protect the freedom of others at all cost. We live and die by the Warrior's and Cowboys MC code.       See the full interview on Youtube   https://youtu.be/h-Pei0pMjIg

Best Mortgage Lenders: What You Will Learn: How to niche down in the real estate industry Why the best mortgage lenders show up as *partners* How to build a brand that differentiates you within a market How to build your messaging strategy and pick the right platform How lenders are becoming a part of the business development process What makes an ideal lender partner Find the Right Lending Partner Phil Treadwell is a Regional VP with Mason McDuffie, host of the Mortgage Marketing Expert Podcast, and co-host of the podcast collective Industry Syndicate. He shares insights to help realtors maximize their potential by stepping up their game as a marketer. He also discusses the dynamic of lender-realtor relationships and what they should look like. Realtors should be seeking lenders who are more than transactional. Mortgage advisors should be participating in the business development process, rather than waiting for agents to find the clients and pass them to the loan officer. Phil offers a unique perspective on working with lenders who show up as partners, you don’t want to miss this one! Niche Down The best real estate professionals understand the importance of niche. Many people in our industry are hesitant or fearful to narrow their focus, but some of the most successful agents I know are very specific about what they are good at and who they want to serve! Finding a niche can help you differentiate yourself within a market. It can help you become recognizable for one particular thing, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do other things well too! Your niche should be something you wake up every day and want to do. It should support your natural strengths and align with your dream life. Once you figure out what that niche is and who you’re talking to, you can build a brand around that. Realtor-Lender Synergy In today’s world, the best mortgage professionals are focused on so much more than simply ‘getting deals’ from realtors. There is a responsibility for mortgage lenders to step up their game and become a part of the business development process. Realtors should partner with lenders who understand what is happening in the industry and vice versa. It is okay to fork over some of your hard-earned leads if your partner is able and willing to do the same for you! Find a lender who positions their brand in a similar light. Find a partner who operates with the same style and same goals because it will create a synergy that produces consistent results on both sides. Photo by Binyamin Mellish from Pexels About Phil Treadwell Phil Treadwell was born and raised in a rural area of SW Missouri, where his mom was a teacher and his dad owned a residential construction company. He graduated high school and went to the University of Arkansas before leaving college after just a few semesters, but he later went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management at John Brown University. Phil gained some extremely valuable career skills in his first jobs before starting his mortgage career, including a retail store general manager, a corporate recruiter, and an apprentice in residential construction. Phil has held positions as a Sr. Loan Officer, Branch Manager, Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS), and was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Association of Mortgage Professionals (AAMP). He also held an Independent Mortgage Broker license, and owned/operated his own company before selling it to the largest mortgage lender in the country at the time. He was the top originator in a multi-state region with that company during the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009, and spent time after that as Business Development Manager opening offices throughout the South and Southeast regions of the US. Since 2013, he has built offices throughout the Central Region and worked with some of the top mortgage banking talent in the business. In May 2019 Phil found a home at Mason-McDuffie Mortgage where they are working to help their team thrive in a modern mortgage industry that many are struggling to find their place in. Throughout his life, Phil has been fortunate to be surrounded by people who taught him the importance of education, both in and out of the classroom. He was taught to always seek out information that will help get him where he wants to go. Having a coach or mentor is allowing someone to take their own experience and convey it to you as wisdom. Much of what Phil has been able to accomplish in his professional life is a direct result of that. Best of Redzone Philosophy, Strategy, and Tactics On today’s episode we hear philosophy strategy and tactics from some of the best at putting the ball in the end zone once they reach the 20 yard line. We focus on an area of the field where you have to come away with points. Steve Fairchild was a 5 year NFL Offensive Coordinator servicing the Buffalo Bills, St Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers. He spent 18 years in the collegiate game spending 4 years as a Head Coach at Colorado State. Steve Fairchild: Identifying and understanding the red zone. Thoughts on howto approach the high red zone to ensure points John Bond, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Northern Iowa. In 2017, the Panthers led the FCS in red zone offense. Coach Bond also wrote a book, “Developing a Championship Quarterback.” Over his 33 year career Bond made stops at SW Missouri, Utep, Delta State Illinois Stat Army, Norther Illinois, Georgia Tech, Georgia State UMass, and Tennessee Martin. @CoachJohnBond John Bond: 3 Keys to excelling in the Red zone: Running the ball, running nakeds and 3 step drops. How to breakup red zone practice time during the wee. Brad Spencer is the offensive coordinator at North Central College who plays for the Division 3 National Championship tonight in the Stagg Bowl. North Central Has become an offensive power house at the Division III level this. Spencer's offense was ranked No. 1 in third down and red zone efficiency, top three in completion percentage and top 10 in total offense and scoring. Brad Spencer: Figuring out where the defense changes as you approach the red zone and goal line. Finding the set of plays your players like to run and settling on plays you’re comfortable with. Additionally, how much of your offense stays the same from outside of the redzone. Joe Osovet joined the Tennessee coaching staff in 2018 following a successful tenure as one of the top head coaches in the junior college ranks. Osovet has coached 11 NFL players and developed 47 Division I players as a JUCO head coach. Joe Osovet: How coach finds success in the red zone by staying consistent but at the same time being variable. The importance of disguising plays by using different formations. Also, finding out how teams adjust to different formations within the red zone and attacking their weakness. Additionally, using different personnel to mess with opposing coordinators in the red zone. Fairchild: The importance of sticking to the run game in the red zone and how to handle the extra defender in the box. Fairchild: Specific route concepts that coach likes to use in the red zone. We were fortunate to run down former Minnesota Vikings and three time Rose Bowl champion Jim Hueber. Ask anyone who has played for, coached with or had to line up across from one of his offensive lines and you will hear a common theme…”toughness”. Yes coach Hueber has had the fortune to coach a lot of good football players over his forty some years but as you will hear in this podcast, the toughness aspect and the ability to go get that one yard in a goal line situation is something that is sold first and foremost by the offensive line coach. Jim Hueber: How to use toughness at the goaline and which plays coach typically uses down at the goal line. Also, how current spread teams can adjust to heavy situations where they have to run. Additionally, benefits of going under center as opposed to in the gun.

I worked as a Paramedic for many years but wanted to actually help people prevent disease and actually reverse it so began my studies. I learned people were reversing Cancer so took 2 amazing Holistic and Integrative Cancer Coaching Certification Courses and very much love working with cancer patients. My first grandbaby suffered horrific reactions from vaccines and through Dr. Dana Ullman (homeopath) I found Dr. Isaac Golden (Australian Homeopath) and became certified in Homeopathic Immunization and Detoxing Vaccine Injury and have build a practice doing both of these with families all over the world and serve on the board of FHCi (Free & Healthy Children International) and preparing for International work in this arena. I was recently asked to run as running mate (VP) with an Independent Presidential Candidate for the 2020 elections due to my passion and work in these areas regarding the Insanity going on in the Vaccine Paradigm and mandates but feel I am to continue the very important work of Educating the public about Homeopathic Immunization, The Truth About Vaccines, The Truth About Infectious Disease, The Truth About The Immune System. My platform has become "Educate, Equip, Empower". It was never a desire to become so involved in politics and world events but the evil corruption that is taking place at rapid pace and destroying millions of lives is requiring ALL of us to be inconvenienced to stand up and protect our Basic Human Rights, the Constitution, Religious Freedoms, and our Families. As a naturopathic doctor, I do utilize Zyto biocommunication, Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna Therapy with Sound Therapy and Color Therapy, IonCleanse Foot Detox Therapy, X'Tract Full-Body Lymphatic Therapy, AromaTouch Essential Oil Therapy, Symphony of the Cells targeted system Essential Oil Therapies, Bach Flower Remedies, Homeopathics, Perception Reframing, and have recently added an Amazing Chiropractic Massage Chair that replaces Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, Reflexologist (pretty amazing technology). Honestly, I am spread too thin and I realize that. I have a hunger for learning how to help people and my path has changed a few times. I have not been successful at "streamlining" and have much invested in all I do, but my passion is on protecting the children that are suffering horrific consequences due to the corruption with Big Pharma and CDC, FDA, WHO, etc. Anyway, I have been very interested in the "simplicity" and "streamlining" that I see you have done and offer to help others do. Thank you

Kristi Waterworth grew up on a farm in the Missouri Ozarks, where nothing could top sneaking samples from the rows of onions, marigolds, tomatoes, okra, peas, and beans in her mother’s garden. When her father gave her a copy of “ The Square Foot Gardener (http://amzn.to/2xen1F0) ” as a preteen, her interest in gardening exploded. Kristi’s dreams of vegetation soon bloomed into a small commercial greenhouse, where she sold heirloom vegetables and offered advice to a steady stream of gardeners from all walks of life. Sadly, she closed the greenhouse in 2011, but continues to write about gardening while studying seed catalogs and experimenting with gardening techniques. I found Kristi when I was researching Harlequin Bugs and found this great article she’d written and so I asked her to come share with us today! (https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/get-rid-of-harlequin-bugs.htm) https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/get-rid-of-harlequin-bugs.htm (https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/get-rid-of-harlequin-bugs.htm) Tell us a little about yourself. I am a copywriter, I was trained as a journalist. the small town newspaper concept is not really a viable career path so I converted to copywriting about 7 years ago, which is how I got into writing for gardening channels. I grew up in SW Missouri on a small beef operation. So it was really important that we had a vegetable garden because it helped feed us throughout the year. The small town, everyone had a garden, my grand mother had a bajillion little pots of Oxalis (flowering shamrocks) and african violets. It always kind of part of the culture I grew up in.  So when I was offered an opportunity to do gardening content for demand media that produces ehow I took it and then I went over to gardening know how… Can I just ask are you a millennial? I am 37 years old in betweenneers between the gen x’ers and little generation I love millenials.  marketing definition sociological marketing purposes I consume content in similar ways. I only got my first smart phone a couple of years ago but I was like I’m addicted to this thing! So I read like a millennial but there are other things I do like a gen xer. I didn’t grow up with a computer. We had an apple2E when I was 15 first time I had seen a computer in my life. One of the most millennials big definining characteristics pc native grew up understanding that language, we got it as teenagers, so I’m semi-fluents. I got my first iPod Touch, I was working at the Apple store and I was like how did I ever live without it? I feel the same way with my smart phone, there are several aspects of my business I run off my phone….literally it has more computing power then the bank of computers what sent up Apollo 13. How did you learn how to garden organically or earth friendly techniques? That’s the thing. Organic wasn’t really a thing then, or it wasn’t a thing we knew about. When you messaged me, we weren’t really 100% organic. We did what was necessary, anti-biotic free and pesticide is fine until you have a problem and then sometimes it’s where it gets to the point when it’s cruelty to deny that.  If you have a cow that has pink-eye don’t just force it to suffer, you give it anti-biotics.  We had a lot of manure laying around, we had cow waste. We used what we had.  Compost and cow manure laying around, the hay that was rotting in the back of the barn. That’s what you have. In south west Missouri, there’s lots of folk ways, not medicines. We have folk traditions for how you deal with certain kinds of pests. Natural Deer Repellant There are so many deer there! One of the ways they say is to put a fence up and hang onions on it. I think it works if you don’t actually have deer. But what does work is if you have... Support this podcast

I'm not sure why, but this weekend made me take pause from a General Aviation perspective.  There were two fatal accidents in SW Missouri that caught my eye.  The first, was a tragic story of a father, mother, and two children that were killed when the A36 took off from a friend's grass field, only to stall at about 100 feet over the tree tops.  Their 5 year old is in critical condition.  The second was a business owner that entered into a thunderstorm which ripped his Saratoga into pieces.  As a pilot, I immediately jumped to the conclusion in the first accident that the field may have been short, soft, and probably at a high density altitude.  With 5 people, even though three were children, luggage, and who knows how much fuel, I can imagine the pilot saw the trees coming at him, pulled back and took aim for the tree tops.  My theory could be way off base, but if it is, then this type of accident probably happened somewhere else recently.  Since no thunderstorm has ever outpaced an airplane, the pilot flew into the storm, expecting to get through it.   My experience is that when there is an accident, pilots that read about it, generally figure out what went wrong in less than 30 minutes, which is proved right a year later, when the NTSB releases its findings that the pilot was unable to maintain control of the airplane when it (fill in the blank).  The reason why our community is able to pinpoint the issue, is because the list of alternatives is finite, and we've been through this before.  So the question is, if the list is so small and its the same mistakes over and over, then why aren't pilots (especially the good ones), staying out of those situations?   The answer is discussed and discovered in tonight's show.   As pilot's we are taught about proper flight planning to limit risks associated with making a flight.  We are given cool mnemonics, like, IMSAFE (Illness, Medications, Stress, Alcohol, Fatigue, Emotion/Eating) and PAVE (Pilot, Aircraft, environmental, External pressures).  We're also taught about dangerous attitudes:   * Anti-Authority * Impulsive * Invulnerability * Macho * Resignation   And to top it off, all pilots are taught to make and respect personal minimums.  Seems like we have plenty of education on how to make intelligent decisions regarding a flight.   The problem is that pilots are also taught to be procedural and to stick to a process, whether its GUMPS (Gas, Undercarriage, Mixture, Prop, Safety/Switches or the 5 (or 7) T's (Turn, Time, Twist, Throttle, Talk, Tires, Track).  It doesn't matter if your plane doesn't have retractable gear, just skip that step.  We can apply our acronyms to a diverse set of circumstances.  The same is said for personal minimums.  We're taught to determine our minimum ceilings, visibility, and cross wind component and commit that to memory.  There are two problems with this.  One, the list is incomplete.  Doesn't it also make sense to add items like how much fuel should you have when you land at your destination, how much sleep you should have the night before a flight, and various other factors.  Second, the personal minimum equation assumes it only changes when your confidence supports making the change.  In reality, your personal minimums should change with each flight, based on what aircraft you'll be flying, the weather, the passengers, the destination airport, and so on.  And why don't we do live by this concept?  COMPLACENCY and MISPLACED CONFIDENCE.  We fly between these two airports all the time, I can go.  Never mind that you're flying in a different aircraft that doesn't have the horsepower and avionics that you're so used to flying.  Never mind that you didn't sleep so well and that you skipped breakfast.  It's decent weather, so I am good to go!     True confidence comes from practicing with a purpose, proper planning, and understanding the factors and alternatives in play for each flying event.  That confidence will drive a proper set of considerations in building your custom personal minimums for that flight.  As pilots, we have the power to make a significant contribution to making our passion a safer and more rewarding experience.  I have a saying that everyone is either committed or complacent, there is no in-between.  Right now, which one is you?  More important, starting from this point forward, which one will be you?   BLUE SKIES and TAILWINDS!
