Each day that we wake up, we don't know what we are going to face that day. We trust that we can move throughout our day with grace and ease. However, there are times when something occurs that shifts the trajectory of your life from that point forward. This is what happened to me when I was involved in a near-fatal car accident that I shouldn't have walked away from... But God! By his grace, I am here to share this story that continues to unfold as I focus on my healing and recovery. I sharing my story to inspire the hope in you that God is not done with you yet and that there is still greater to come!
In today's episode, we share the importance of sleep as part of our self-love, self-care daily routines. We don't have adequate sleep, our body is not able to properly heal itself, leading to more stress, inflammation, decreased energy, and mood. As we are intentional in focusing on our sleep, we will see changes in our stress, inflammation, energy, and mood levels. So ideas shared were setting a power-down routine at least 30 minutes before sleep, reducing electronics time before bed, setting the mood for sleep with essential oils such as lavender, and evaluating what is the best amount of sleep needed. This week, be intentional in making one small change in increasing your sleep-care to help you be the best you daily.
In today's episode, we share five keys to having an essential self-love routine. It is so easy to focus on our external relationships before looking within on the relationship we have with God and ourselves. Focusing within on how we love and view ourselves, gives us the clarity and consistency to show up for ourselves and the world. The 5 keys are: Disconnect to reconnect: set aside time each day to unplug from electronics and social media. Treat yourself: celebrate all of your progress and wins up to this point. It is okay to reflect on all that you have done to get to this point. Journaling: putting pen to paper your thoughts and emotions provide clarity on what is working for you while being expectant of the greater to come. Nourish your body: our bodies need the right fuel to keep us moving in bringing our goals, passion, and purpose to fruition. Get moving: adding movement each day helps to build up our immunity and strength. When we are intentional in having an essential self-love routine, we are ensuring that our cup is full and we can give from the overflow in giving love to others.
In today's episode, we share how we view ourselves determines how others perceive us, as well as how we are able to give and receive love. Having a daily self-love practice is essential in sustaining our self-talk, emotions, and thoughts in a positive light. As we are intentional in our self-love, knowing that it comes from God's love, equips us to embrace who we are and be the right example for others to follow.
In today's episode, we talk about how to shift from doing to being in our lives daily. When we are actively doing, we constantly going from one thing to the next and have multiple balls in the air. When we do this, it keeps us from having clarity on what we are doing, celebrating our progress, and staying motivated to keep pressing forward in our passion, purpose, and vision. As it says in Nehemiah 8:10, "and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Therefore, my brothers and sisters in Christ, do not allow Satan to steal your joy, because he doesn't deserve it. Let your joy be in the Lord as you will receive strength to face and overcome all trials and obstacles." When we become intentional in being actively present in the here and now, we are more equipped to have clarity in where we are now, and what we desire to be in the future.
In today's episode, we dive into the power of intention instead of relying on resolutions each year. Your purpose has been waiting for you to take it seriously. So, set the intention behind what you're doing. This will help you to show up authentically with grace and ease. As it says in Habakkuk 2:2-3- Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay." Being intentional helps to take things one step at a time as you trust the process and journey before you. It's important to be mindful of your thoughts and actions, and think about what they mean to you and who you want to be.
