Episode #336 – Let Go of Your Marketing Baggage and Grow With Confidence So many jewelry business owners come to marketing weighed down by past experiences, assumptions, and limiting beliefs—and it's no wonder they're feeling stuck. In this episode, I'm breaking down the five most common types of “marketing baggage” I see, and showing you how to let go of what's no longer serving you—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and real connection. Marketing isn't about tricks or trends—it's about relationship-building. But when emotional residue from the past clouds your judgment, it's hard to connect in a way that feels authentic and effective. Let's unpack what's been weighing you down.
Have you ever thought about the concept of baggage at work? I have a dear friend, Pam, that always tells me “Wherever you go, there you are.” If you don't do the lessons, you bring everything with you from job to job or company to company. You bring your habits, patterns, and mental and emotional baggage. The question that my guest, Tamara McLemore, and I chat about today is how can we release this baggage so we can take control of our careers?During my conversation with Tamara, we chatted about:How did Tamara become an accidental project managerWhat is Tamara's definition of corporate baggage? How can we drop our corporate baggage? How do we let go of roles that don't serve us such as “office mom”?What is Tamara's Project Management Certification and work with women all about? Here is more about Tamara:Tamara McLemore is the “Accidental Project Manager.” She has over 20 years of experience in tech, wireless, software application and infrastructure project management for the United States Federal Government, Airline & Travel, Banking & Mortgage, and Raw Material Industries leading and advising programs and projects upwards $150M in budget. And guess what? Tamara has a degree in Journalism. She was able to learn and master the art of Planning, Execution, Implementation and Risk Management. I've been working with amazing companies and individuals identifying that innate Project Management Strength and developing those talents into high-performance individuals that equate to high performing organizations. If the Brave Women at Work Podcast has helped you personally or professionally, please be share it with a friend, colleague, or family member. As we all know, color matters. And color can inspire a lot of controversy. Like, for example, certain pinks? They have baggage. Baggage that could be very expensive, very fast. M manages to keep it to a single parter this time (woah!) and we get to discuss a sampling of colors that sparked a bit of problems.CW: Death, Desecration of CorpsesMusic provided by Dark Fantasy Studios. Motherhood is a double-edged sword. We do not deny that children are a gift from God, but it is equally true that being a mother is a sword that will pierce your soul — as it says in Luke 2:35. Although that verse is about Mary seeing Jesus suffer on the cross, what mother hasn’t felt the slice of that sword as they have watched their own children suffer through the trials of life. Motherhood is messy. It’s difficult and leaves you with emotional baggage that you are too often too busy, too religious, too polite, too numb or too wounded to deal with, but Jesus is a Healer. If we truly believe our church is in a season of healing, it would make no sense to spend Mother’s Day glossing over things that cause pain. This week, we’re trying to help moms find healing.

Welcome to Church Pew Sports Ep 178 - Brains, Baggage & The Big Leagues - Why So Many Young Athletes Flame Out We welcome Kip Rodgers, founder of BrainCode Corp, for a deep and eye-opening conversation about what really goes on behind the scenes of the NFL Draft—and why so many talented athletes never live up to expectations. With over a decade of experience assessing NFL draft prospects' mental makeup, Kip shares how she uses neuroscience-based evaluations to help athletes, agents, and teams make better decisions. From entitlement issues to spiritual grounding, Kip dives into the mental, emotional, and spiritual traits that often determine whether a player succeeds or crashes out of the league. We discuss real stories of players who let pride and poor judgment derail their careers, and why some top talents fall in the draft for reasons beyond the field. Kip also explains the growing trend of college transfers, how money changes everything, and what she asks young players about their family life and faith background during evaluations. Also: What role does humility play in quarterback success? Why is strong faith a predictor of stability? And how should teams screen for red flags without crossing the line? It's a fascinating blend of sports psychology, faith, and football culture—an absolute must-listen for fans who care about what really shapes a player. Excess Fat, Weight, Baggage… in your brain or on your body, why do we carry around baggage that holds us back and slows down or stops our success- how to drop it off? www.maxfitnesscollege.com
What if sin isn't about pristine holiness but rather preventing harm—to ourselves, others, and the world around us? This reimagined understanding sees sin the way John Wesley did: as harm, or, in the words of Cornelius Plantinga as a "culpable disturbance of shalom," a disruption of the peace, flourishing, and wholeness God desires for all creation. Instead of lists of dos and don'ts, sin becomes a deeper call to recognize the harm we cause and to join God's work of healing and restoration. Jesus, far from reinforcing shame or exclusion, modeled radical love and inclusion, breaking down barriers and inviting everyone into belonging and flourishing. In this view, repentance (teshuvah) is not about guilt trips or fear but about returning to who we are meant to be—beloved, creative, and whole. By embracing this call to cultivate shalom, we discover a faith that is not burdensome but liberating, empowering us to heal the brokenness in our lives and the world. In the end, the story isn't about judgment—it's about returning home to love and flourishing.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”What if belief was less about agreeing to a rigid set of ideas and more about trusting deeply, even loving deeply? This reflection challenges the narrow notion of belief as mere intellectual assent and reclaims it as an invitation to a dynamic, relational journey with God. In ancient and premodern contexts, “believe” carried the sense of trust and affection—beloving rather than merely agreeing. Jesus' call wasn't to memorize a creed but to follow—a path of love, questions, and growth. Doubt isn't the enemy of faith but a catalyst for deeper exploration, a quest that leads to trust and transformation. Belief begins and ends with love: loving God, loving our neighbor, and loving ourselves as reflections of God's care. In a world longing for authenticity and connection, this journey of “believing as beloving” offers a way to rediscover faith as life-giving, inclusive, and endlessly hopeful.

The church is under attack from people trying to bring in their own ideological baggage. All are welcome in church, but the point is for God's word to open people's eyes, equip them, and change them. We are not to dictate the terms on which we come to God. The church must stand firm and hold fast to the word we have received. EP 380 - This week we're trying a cultural experiment - to start an occasional series called Business Without Baggage that helps people understand the nuances of doing business across different cultures. To kick us off, we invited accomplished French corporate Lawyer and expert on cultural intelligence Olivier Lopez onto the show. We asked him to explain the nuances of doing business with the French and also got some expert hints about how different cultures operate around the world. We chatted about how you can trace many of France's cultural instincts and attitudes back to a revolutionary spirit, the application of logic and an abiding need to feel Liberté, Egalité et Fraternité in all of their dealings as well as finding a balance in life.We also put these attitudes in a wider cultural context - amazingly a lot of it is to do with food, but not in the way you think. But we do have some fine wine and lovely cheese along the way. We'd love to do more in this occasional series, so if you want to talk about what it's like to do business with your fellow country folk (even if you're only from Yorkshire) get in touch. Everyone has baggage. We carry it around with us everywhere–into marriage, adulthood, and every aspect of our lives. It's part of being human, and while there's no shame in having baggage, it's important to take the time to consider how the behaviors we've picked up over the years could be potentially harmful to ourselves and others. The question we are addressing in today's conversation is: how do we pinpoint our baggage and begin to heal those areas of our lives? We define “baggage” as places where we need to pursue personal growth, instances of trauma or hurt from the past that remain unhealed, and learned behaviors, habits, and thinking patterns from our childhood that no longer serve us. Whether you are married, dating, or single, doing the individual work to unpack your baggage is an investment you will never regret making. You may also want to consider working with a coach, counselor, or therapist to assist you in your journey. In this episode, you'll learn about:The importance of discovering your baggageHow to look back at the past to uncover unhealthy coping mechanismsWhy we should pay attention to relational feedbackAnd more!Dealing with our own baggage has been transformative in our marriage, and it played a crucial role in our individual journeys to become Jill 2.0 and Mark 2.0. We hope this conversation can be a stepping stone for others to dig deeper into their own habits and behaviors.Find resources mentioned and more in the show notes: jillsavage.org/uncover-baggage-243Check out our other resources: Mark and Jill's Marriage Story Marriage Coaching Marriage 2.0 Intensives Speaking Schedule Book Mark and Jill to Speak Online Courses Books Marriage Resources: Infidelity Recovery For Happy Marriages For Hurting Marriages For Marriages Where You're the Only One Wanting to Get Help Mom Resources: New/Preschool Moms Moms with Gradeschoolers Moms with Teens and Tweens Moms with Kids Who Are Launching Empty Nest...

Could how you think - about yourself - change the way you experience the world around you? We all have past experiences that we carry with us, often for life. Those experiences and how we process them not only become a part of who we are, they influence how we process later events and circumstances. In this episode of The Sourcing Hero podcast, Host Kelly Barner welcomes Ryan Christensen. Ryan is a professional hypnotist specializing in peak mental focus and performance. After 23 years of experience in the intelligence community, he's now worked with hundreds of high-achievers and neurodivergent professionals to radically transform their mindset and shift their subconscious beliefs towards inevitable success. In this interview, Ryan talks about his own experiences dealing with emotion and how he now helps others do the same: Why many ‘healing methodologies' fail to reach below the surface Why emotions can be so challenging to process Changing how we relate to our own emotions and becoming our best selves Links: Ryan Christensen on LinkedIn
Hey Friend! Quick update: Carla's allergies are finally under control, and I'm feeling better too—my back's on the mend, so no more grandpa groans when I bend over. Small wins, y'all. Now, onto the episode. We dive into a topic that's real for any of us with kids who split time between two homes—should children have their own bedroom at the non-custodial parent's house? Carla, with her money grows on trees mentality, thinks it's a must. Like, we all have the luxury of giving each kid their own room, right? But I'm out here saying, a kid can still feel welcome and loved without having their own space. The key is making them feel at home however you can. And then, we get into another tough letter from one of our listeners. Anonymous writer is feeling guilty but “over it” because she thinks she's outgrown her drama-filled best friend. Now, Carla's over here like, “New besties are easy to find!” (So optimistic, huh?) Meanwhile, I think a real, honest conversation is the way to go before cutting ties. Don't ghost your home girl—talk it out. That's it for this week—tune in and let us know what you think. And if you've got any tough conversations you're putting off, we definitely wanna hear about ‘em. Catch ya later, Dex CONNECT WITH US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: CARLA WILMARIS | DEX
