We're officially in our third month of 2022 and as it stands I have 10 months left to live - yes I am taking this very seriously. Gemma's work embodies all elements of psychology and kinesiology. As an athlete herself growing up as the 'golden girl in her home town of Jersey, she found herself constantly pushing past her physical limits striving for success in her sport. This led to an array of problems down the track, specifically with her mental health. After completing a degree in psychology and moving halfway across the world to pursue a career in running, Gemma began to realise her career was being led down a different root. Jess is the owner of Good Folk Yoga, a studio that invests heavily in its people and also services. Jess left what some would call a dream job to pursue her dream of opening up a holistic space for alternative practices as well as growing a community that fostered connection amongst it. Overcoming the pressures that came with the corporate life, Jess began to explore the practice of mindfulness meditation and yoga and found that it gave her a newfound sense of clarity and space to move past not only the stress and anxiety she was experiencing in everyday life but also moving away from what a lot of us tend to feel which is imposter syndrome.
