For our wedding anniversary, we are dedicating this episode to be an honest exploration of marriage as a Spiritual Path. The tools of Compassionate Communication have been essential to our marriage, as we are extraordinarily different people. Our special guest for this episode is Kutira Decosterd, world-renowned author, teacher, facilitator, founder of The Kahua Institute in Hawaii, and a longtime friend who performed our wedding ceremony. The purpose of The Kahua Institute is to explore and teach new ways of awakening the divine, opening the heart, and creating ecological sustainability both within and without. Together we will offer practical ways to develop an authentic relationship with one's "Higher Self," "God Self," soul, and look at it from both the point of view of connection to Self, to the Divine, to our family, friends and romantic beloveds.

Many of the spiritual traditions that Scott and Gabriele have explored point to the state of "ONENESS" as an achievable experience, even in the Western world. In this episode, they will discuss the specific tools available for achieving a greater state of "ONENESS," even with individuals that we are in conflict with. Of course, it does start with the self and there are very specific ways to achieve a deeper connection of PRESENCE/ONENESS. Scott and Gabriele have traveled throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, teaching and "truth seeking" and have been especially touched by the dynamic work of "THE UNIVERSITY OF ONENESS" in Southern India. Certified facilitators from that path will be joining us for this episode as well, in addition to some friends who have attended our workshops.

Swami's comedy has been called "irreverently uplifting" and described as "comedy disguised as wisdom" and "wisdom disguised as comedy." In this episode, Steve will talk about the encouraging new story being told by "new edge" science that echoes ancient wisdom: We are all part of a new super-organism called Humanity, and understanding how we are part of this new community makes us healthier, happier and more free. He'll also talk about his newest book  (co-authored with Joseph McCormick), Reuniting America: A Toolkit for Changing the Political Game, which offers Joseph's story of political transformation, as well as the principles and practices of convening transpartisan meet-ups in your town.
