When you understand the customer journey, i.e. The journey that your customer, your ideal customer takes, from the point of not knowing that you exist, to being aware that you exist, to knowing that they want to sample your products or services, to them being a client. That whole journey, when you understand all of those steps, intrinsically, the website is literally a mechanism by which to fulfill one or a number of those steps. If a website makes sense to do that and to act upon that task. Great. If it doesn't, then there are many, many, many other methods you can use that will accomplish that. The title of this episode is not quite a direct quote. I'm paraphrased slightly, but it's something I learned from a very, very smart guy by the name of Sun Tzu. I did not meet him personally because he was a Chinese strategist and General, a few thousand years ago. He was born around about 500 BC. But Sun Tzu is well-known in certain circles for writing a book called, The Art of War. Now The Art of War, isn't actually a book as such. It is a collection of quotes and sayings that have been gathered by archeologists and historians over the centuries, of things that he said. Things that were noted as being said by him to his troops, to his commanders, through various documents and historical records over the ages.
