    Ivy Insights

The Dark Downeast podcast is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon by accident, and I am so grateful that I did. As someone from Eastern Maine, I have heard about these cases but they often fade away without any further updates. Kylie, the host of the podcast, does an incredible job of following up on these cases and telling their stories. Her delivery is amazing and her storytelling is both compassionate and thorough. I truly hope she continues with the podcast and covers more cases, such as the unsolved mystery of Ayla Reynolds.

One of the best aspects of The Dark Downeast podcast is Kylie's voice and delivery. She speaks clearly and tells each story with care and thoughtfulness. Her logical flow makes it easy to follow along and stay engaged in the narrative. Additionally, her personal connection to Maine adds charm to each case as she shares anecdotes about where she grew up. It's clear that Kylie puts a lot of effort into researching each episode, providing detailed information while still getting right to the point.

One small drawback of The Dark Downeast podcast is that sometimes episodes can be hard to find or missed if you're not paying close attention. For example, one listener mentioned missing part 1 of The Cathy Moulton case because they could only find episode 2 in season 1. This could potentially cause some confusion or frustration when trying to follow along with specific cases or storylines.

In conclusion, The Dark Downeast podcast is an incredible true crime podcast that should not be missed. It stands out from other podcasts in this genre due to its thoughtful and compassionate storytelling approach that focuses on the victims rather than sensationalizing the perpetrators. Kylie's dedication to each case and her respect for the victims' memory and their loved ones left behind shines through in every episode. Whether you're from Maine or have never been there, this podcast offers captivating stories that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

From the very beginning of the investigation into the disappearance of Iris Brown, everyone suspected the same person had something to do with it. She left home with the suspect on the night she was last seen alive, the suspect's behavior in the days following her disappearance raised countless red flags, and forensic evidence pointed to something bad happening inside the suspect's car, but proving beyond a reasonable doubt exactly what happened wasn't going to come quick and easy to the investigators tasked with finding answers. When this suspect was finally apprehended and charged, it was with the crime prosecutors could prove… Not the crime everyone knew deep down he'd actually committed. Decades later, a determined detective reopened the case with one mission: to give surviving family members a version of closure, even if it meant the killer would never face the consequences. If you have information that could help bring Iris Brown home, please contact Vermont State Police via the tip form.
