What's the next Dubai chocolate? And more importantly, how do you know whether to back it before it's mainstream, or whether it will ever get there at all?The speed at which flavour trends now travel has fundamentally changed the job of everyone in NPD. What used to take decades can now arrive, peak and fade within a single season. Social media accelerates trends and creates consumer expectations about flavour before a product even hits the shelf. In this episode of the Food Matters Live podcast, recorded at our London Olympia event, five flavour and innovation specialists debate what all of this means in practice. They unpack why flavour is still king, and why the days of designing something that appeals to everybody are effectively over. And they wrestle with the most loaded question in innovation: is the era of the perennial core flavour over, or will the industry always find new ones?If this has whet your appetite for next year's Food Matters Live events - you can already register your interest to partner with us in London and Rotterdam.

Some healing doesn't come from therapy or from doing the work in the way you expect it to. Sometimes it comes from watching your team win the NBA finals. In this episode, I'm sharing something personalL what the Knicks winning the 2026 championship actually did to me, and why I wasn't prepared for it. This win cracked something open that I didn't know was still there, and I've been sitting with it ever since. This is a detour from my usual content, and it also isn't, because healing has never been linear for me, and I've never once claimed to be finished with it.Support the show*Please Note: there is a long intro that explains my services.

Support the show

I break down some of the most insidious and subtle ways abusers use language to dominate the narrative and erode your sense of reality.I walk you through five distinct patterns of weaponized communication: emotional manipulation disguised as vulnerability, defensiveness used as a silencing tool, blame-shifting hidden behind false equivalence, coercion dressed up as ultimatums, and silence deployed as punishment. Each example reveals the same underlying strategy — redirecting accountability, centering the abuser's discomfort, and leaving you questioning whether your own feelings are valid. If you've ever felt confused after a conversation you thought was reasonable, found yourself apologizing for simply expressing how you feel, or wondered whether you're the problem — this episode is for you. Because weaponized communication isn't poor communication. It's a strategy, and once you can see it, you can begin to break free from it.Support the show*Please Note: there is a long intro that explains my services. Father's Day is right around the corner, and on this month's Ask Rick, Rob Kibbe welcomes National Parts Depot CEO Rick Schmidt for a wide-ranging conversation covering everything from car show planning to collector car buying strategy. Drawing from more than twenty years of experience producing NPD's legendary Silver Springs Ford and GM shows, Rick shares what makes a great event, why most car shows overcomplicate things, and how creating an experience for the entire family is often more important than the cars themselves. The discussion also dives into the evolving world of reproduction bodies and restoration parts. Rick offers an insider's perspective on the quality improvements seen in replacement Camaro and Firebird bodies, the challenges of manufacturing and licensing, and why some projects help preserve the hobby while others raise serious questions. If you've ever wondered what goes into bringing reproduction sheet metal and complete bodies to market, this segment is packed with fascinating insight. Of course, no Ask Rick episode would be complete without auction picks. This month Rick evaluates six vehicles ranging from a 1968 El Camino SS 396, 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible, and 1962 Chrysler 300, to a modern Shelby GT350R Heritage Edition, a stunning 1950 Oldsmobile 88 Convertible, and a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. Along the way he reveals which cars he'd happily cruise all summer, which ones he'd avoid entirely, and why some of the hobby's most interesting opportunities aren't always the most obvious choices. The post TMCP #650: Ask Rick – Father's Day Car Shows, Summer Cruise Nights, and Patriotic Auction Temptations first appeared on The Muscle Car Place.

In this YouTube interview, Vance from the Female Covert Narc channel joins Narccon to discuss the traits and behaviors of the female covert narcissist, often referred to as the “Black Widow.” The conversation explores how female covert narcissists use subtle manipulation, emotional control, victim playing, and psychological tactics to dominate relationships while maintaining a hidden public image.Vance's Channel - @FemaleCovertNarc (Fantastic series of interviews with a diverse range of experts providing education and advice on NPD focusing in particular on the female narcissist).Channel link: https://youtube.com/@FemaleCovertNarc?si=VXAjaoYsMxNpjGx1#LetThemGo is a video series aimed at helping men identify, exit, and recover from relationships with women diagnosed with or suspected of having female covert narcissism.https://youtu.be/_lAqUANFigIMen, does your female partner gaslight, blame shift, constantly move the boundaries in your relationship, roll her eyes at you, lie, interrupt you, talk over you, explode in response to the slightest hint of anything critical or even the simplest mistake, and always play the victim while portraying you as the perpetual villain, regardless if she is at fault? If so, you may be in a relationship with a female covert narcissist. The only thing more difficult than being with a narcissist is trying to coparent with one. Dr. Mark Ettensohn explains why narcissistic personality disorder is often misunderstood online—and how complex trauma, shame, attachment wounds, and identity shape pathological narcissism. Narcissism has become a buzz word on social media. It has moved from a psychological understanding to a term that is used for blaming, scapegoating, and other emotionally charged narratives. This polarization has led to casting someone with narcissist traits as a villain who is intentionally cruel, manipulative, and beyond help. While those with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) can exhibit difficult or even harmful traits, social media has erased the distinction between mental illness and moral defect. One clinician cautions that this "narcisso-sphere" content contributes to the despair of an already vulnerable population and even suicidality among those who identify with the diagnosis. On this episode of Transforming Trauma, host Emilly Ruth welcomes Mark Ettensohn, Psy, D. Mark is the founder of Heal NPD, a clinical and educational platform focused on the understanding and treatment of narcissistic personality disorder. His work explores the developmental and relational roots of narcissism, including trauma, dissociation, and identity. Mark is also the author of Unmasking Narcissism: A Guide to Understanding the Narcissist in Your Life and shares widely followed educational content through his Heal NPD YouTube Channel. Transforming Trauma thanks Mark for sharing his expertise with our community. His empathetic approach to NPD invites curiosity over confrontation and genuine relational support over social media simplification. BPD is often misunderstood, reduced to stereotypes of moodiness or drama — but if you've loved someone with unmanaged borderline personality disorder, you know it feels nothing like that. In this episode, I break down what it actually looks like to be in a relationship with someone who splits, who swings from adoring you to discarding you in an instant, and how you slowly begin to disappear in the process. This isn't about demonizing people with BPD. It's about naming the impact of their unmanaged behavior — and why compassion for their pain does not require you to destroy yourself.Support the show*Please Note: there is a long intro that explains my services. A new national fuel company has been given the go-ahead by the Commerce Commission. The merger of Gull and NPD would combine 240 sites across the country, but they would maintain their brands according to the proposal. The AA said the new entity will have greater buying power, which may ultimately lead to cheaper prices at the pump. AA's fuel spokesperson Terry Collins' spoke to Melissa Chan-Green.
People ask me how I healed all the time, and the honest answer is that there is no clean framework I can hand you. In this episode, I share the specific practices that actually made a difference for me — and they are not always the ones you would expect. I talk about why I stopped healing on everyone else's timeline, how I gave myself permission to grieve on a schedule as a single parent, and the journaling practice that helped me separate what was real from what had been distorted. I also share why I stopped bringing my situation to my friends, what I did instead, and how I learned to stop outsourcing my recovery to other people's opinions. Your healing does not have to look like mine. I hope something here helps you give yourself permission to do it in the way that you actually can.Support the show*Please Note: there is a long intro that explains my services. What happens when a narcissist is finally alone? As a diagnosed narcissist, I'm getting raw about how my own mind attacks me the second the "audience" leaves. Today, we're discussing why narcissists have a negative default setting, why silence feels like a death sentence, and how we use external validation (supply) as a shield against intense self-hatred. If you've ever wondered why your toxic partner couldn't be alone or why they constantly needed to be the center of attention, this is the internal reality they are running from. So… what even counts as “BPD” anymore?Last week, we explored how the Alternative Model for Personality Disorders (AMPD) moves away from strict categories. This week, we're taking it further:What does BPD actually look like in this model, and do you even need the label at all?We break down the core of BPD through self and interpersonal functioning, how traits shape the “borderline” pattern, and why diagnoses like BPD and NPD might not be as separate as people think. If you've ever felt like the DSM didn't fully capture your experience, this might hit differently. This is Part 2 of a 2-part series.⸻Featuring:Dr. Carla Sharp — Clinical psychologist and Professor at the University of Houston. Director of the Developmental Psychopathology Lab, with a focus on personality disorders, mentalization, and adolescent development.Dr. Frank Yeomans — Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and Director of Training at the Personality Disorders Institute. This month on Ask Rick, Rick Schmidt from National Parts Depot joins us for a St. Patrick's Day edition covering everything from green cars and Guinness to real-world business questions. We discuss whether presidential addresses truly move the needle for business decisions, what the current tariff situation looks like on Taiwanese restoration sheetmetal, and how NPD is handling pricing in real time. We also dive into the growing conversation around Chinese electric vehicles entering the U.S. market — and whether joint ventures with American automakers make that inevitable. Plus, Rick tackles a thoughtful listener question about selling a company to employees with no family successor, and we close with a truck-heavy investment showdown: custom builds under $75K and which ones make the smartest five-year bet. Insightful, practical, and always honest — it's classic Ask Rick from start to finish. In this third episode of The Narcissism Trap series, we shift from personal validation to legal strategy, exploring why the very word that brought you clarity could be the thing that sinks your court case.
