Jesus spricht dort von einer bestimmten Art von Dämonen oder Geistern, die laut seiner Aussage nur durch eine Kombination aus Gebet und Fasten ausgetrieben werden können. Ich will es wissen. Darum bin ich für eine Woche ins Allgäu gefahren, um zu fasten. Ich komme an in wunderschöner Landschaft. Das ehemalige Hotel wird als Seminarzentrum genutzt. Von meinem Balkon in der obersten Etage kann ich die Alpen sehen. Die Berge sind weiß überzuckert. Ansonsten: nichts außer Gegend. Ein paar kleine Seen, Damwild in einem Gehege vor dem Haus.Eine sehr freundliche Dame empfängt uns. Unsere Fastenleiterin für diese Woche Suppenfasten mit Wanderungen. In der Anfangsrunde trinken wir unsere Salze oder Rizinus zum Abführen. Damit ist ein Prozess in Gang gesetzt, der folgendermaßen funktioniert:Beim Fasten stellt der Körper zunächst den Zuckerstoffwechsel um und beginnt nach etwa 12 Stunden, die Kohlenhydratspeicher (Glykogen) aufzubrauchen.Nach etwa zwei bis drei Tagen beginnt der "Hungerstoffwechsel": Der Körper schaltet auf eine Fettverbrennung um, produziert Ketone als Energiequelle und aktiviert die Zellreinigungsprozesse (Autophagie). Dies schont zunächst die Muskeln, da die Energie primär aus Fett und weniger aus Proteinen gewonnen wird. Das hat gut geklappt, nach einer Nacht, die ich mehr auf der Toilette als im Bett verbracht habe, wache ich trotzdem ausgeruht auf. Nach einer Runde Schwimmen geht es zum Yoga. Übergangspräsident Ahmad al-Sharaa stösst vor allem im kurdisch dominierten Nordosten des Landes auf viel Misstrauen. Knapp ein Jahr ist seit dem Sturz des syrischen Langzeitherrschers Bashar Al-Assad vergangen. Der Umsturz wurde nach dem zerstörerischen Bürgerkrieg auch in vielen westlichen Ländern euphorisch begrüsst. In Syrien selbst bleibt die Situation schwierig: Während Übergangspräsident Ahmad al-Sharaa in der Hauptstadt Damaskus von Anhängern euphorisch gefeiert wird, schlägt dem ehemaligen Islamistenführer im kurdisch geprägten Nordosten des Landes Skepsis entgegen. Das neue, versöhnliche Image, dass sich die Regierung geben will, kauft ihr dort niemand ab. Die Erinnerungen an die früheren Gräueltaten der Islamisten sind in der Region allgegenwärtig. Die Kurden haben im Gebiet östlich des Euphrats einen autonomen Verwaltungsapparat aufgebaut, setzen auf basisdemokratische Selbstverwaltung, mit sozialistischer und feministischer Ausprägung. Ihre Mentalität unterscheidet sich stark von jener der neuen Regierung um Al-Sharaa. Deren Pläne, die Verwaltungs- und Verteidigungsstruktur der Kurden in den syrischen Staat zu integrieren, stossen im kurdischen Gebiet auf Ablehnung. Wie also weiter in Syrien? Werden die einstigen Konfliktparteien zusammenfinden? Oder droht gar ein neuer Bürgerkrieg?

How quickly can the U.S. military spring into action to recover - then cover up - the crash of exotic technology that falls from the sky? The answer is - pretty damned fast. An example of this just played out in, of all places, the outskirts of Area 51, the top-secret Air Force facility in the Nevada desert. On September 23rd, an unknown aerial object slammed into the desert floor on public land a few miles outside the boundary of Area 51. Within minutes, the entire base sprang into action, a large swath of public land was cordoned off by armed military security teams, and a cryptic cover story was concocted. In this episode of WEAPONIZED, Jeremy and George share some of the details of the crash retrieval operation and how civilian researchers in Nevada were able to collect enough information to know that the Air Force explanation was full of holes - containing not only outright falsehoods but also a healthy smattering of disinformation. Nearly a year ago, mysterious drones of unknown origin began buzzing military bases and other sensitive sites, mostly in the eastern U.S. They swooped in out of nowhere, hovered and maneuvered over airfields, didn't try to hide their presence, and could not be tracked when they abruptly departed. Entire U.S. bases were shut down, including Langley and Wright-Patterson AFB. Similar incursions were reported at joint bases in the UK, where personnel deployed advanced anti-drone tech - with no effect. Now, several European countries are experiencing similarly troubling incursions. In recent weeks, mystery drones have caused fear and confusion in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Belgium. Governments suspect the drones are being controlled by Russia, though there isn't a shred of evidence to prove that, and these drones cannot be tracked or brought down. Knapp ein Viertel der Buchhandlungen in Deutschland musste in den letzten fünf Jahren schließen, meldet das Statistische Bundesamt. Im Jahr 2023 gab es noch rund 3.000 Bucheinzelhandlungen in Deutschland – das ist ein neuer Tiefstand. Mögliche Gründe dafür sind steigende Mieten und Personalkosten und das veränderte Kaufverhalten, Stichwort Onlinehandel. Buchhandlungen haben Nachwuchsprobleme Dass es anders gehen kann, zeigt die Karlsruher Stephanus Buchhandlung: Von dort aus haben die Buchhändler*innen Jörg Mattusch und Katharina Bruns seit 2023 ein Netz aus Buchhandlungen mit 14 Läden geknüpft. „Wir haben festgestellt, dass eigentlich das ganz große Problem ist, dass gute, kleine Buchhandlungen, die sehr gut von den bisherigen Inhaber*innen geführt werden, keine Nachfolge finden“, so Jörg Mattusch in SWR Kultur. Das liege daran, dass kaum noch jemand das finanzielle Risiko auf sich nehmen wolle, einen kleinen Laden selbst zu führen. Karlsruher Buchhandlung mit eigenem Modell Mit ihrer MB Buch & Medien GmbH kaufen Jörg Mattusch und Katharina Bruns genau solche Buchhandlungen auf, die zwar gut laufen, aber keine Nachfolge finden. Ihr Anliegen sei es nicht, Buchhandlungen unter ihrem Namen zu formieren, sondern dafür zu sorgen, dass diese „weiterhin mit ihrem Namen und ihrem Konzept so bestehen bleiben“, so Jörg Mattusch. Das Ziel: Die Buchhandlung so zu erhalten, wie sie sich in der Region bewährt hat. Konzept: Kaufen und bewahren Doch zu zweit werden Jörg Mattusch und Katharina Bruns das Buchhandlungssterben nicht stoppen können. Heutzutage sind Buchhandlungen immer mehr weniger allein Verkaufs- oder Beratungsräume. Dank Lesungen und anderen Veranstaltungen werden sie immer mehr auch zu sozialen Treffpunkten in einer Stadt, beobachtet Jörg Mattusch. Buchhandlungen als Kulturräume Daher wünscht sich Jörg Mattusch mehr Unterstützung seitens der Politik. Denn viele inhabergeführte Buchhandlungen fungierten mittlerweile als Ersatz für die fehlende Unterstützung der Gemeinden, die sich ein kulturelles Angebot einfach nicht mehr leisten könnten. „Da übernehmen dann die kleineren Buchhandlungen einfach die kulturelle Stelle mit Lesungen, mit Veranstaltungen, mit Leseförderung, mit Schulen, mit Projekten. Und ja, das ist einfach schwierig mittlerweile mit den Kommunen hier eine so gute Zusammenarbeit zu finden, dass das ausreichend gefördert wird“, so Mattusch.

Would another UFO hearing before Congress change anything? Skeptics and sourpusses did their best to diminish the committee and demean the witnesses days before the latest hearing in front of the "Secrets" Task Force even convened, and social media poobahs engaged in their usual caterwauling leading up to the D.C. event, but it appears the critics were forced to eat their whiny words. Three men who have had exemplary careers with the U.S. military (one of them still active) spoke under oath about unknown craft they encountered while on active duty, and verified the very real risks that witnesses, especially whistleblowers, face for daring to speak the truth. The hearing, chaired by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, featured a lively, deadly-serious discussion about UAP encounters, a back-and-forth conversation that continued for multiple hours. The witnesses at the 2025 hearing included Jeff Nuccetelli, Alexandro Wiggins, Dylan Borland, and George Knapp, and seated with that group was potential witness Matthew Brown alongside Jeremy Corbell, who spent weeks helping the Task Force find the most credible people to testify. Are close encounters with UFO/UAP technology dangerous for humans? The answer appears to be yes.
