The fate of Bryan Kohberger's murder trial hangs in the balance as an Idaho judge considers whether to delay the August proceedings over explosive allegations of evidence leaks in a Dateline NBC episode. In a heated hearing, Kohberger's defense argued the Dateline special (featuring unreleased cell data, surveillance footage, and search history) violated a gag order and tainted the jury pool. But prosecutors fired back, calling it a stall tactic in the high-profile case of the four University of Idaho students stabbed to death in 2022. Will the trial proceed as scheduled? Or will leaks, media frenzy, and witness drama force a delay? Law&Crime's Jesse Weber breaks down the details from the latest hearing.PLEASE SUPPORT THE SHOW:IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE HAVE SUFFERED PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES DUE TO VIDEO GAMES, VISIT VGCLAIMS.COM/SIDEBAR TO ANSWER LESS THAN 10 QUESTIONS AND CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY TO FILE A CLAIMHOST:Jesse Weber: https://twitter.com/jessecordweberLAW&CRIME SIDEBAR PRODUCTION:YouTube Management - Bobby SzokeVideo Editing - Michael Deininger, Christina O'Shea & Jay CruzScript Writing & Producing - Savannah Williamson & Juliana BattagliaGuest Booking - Alyssa Fisher & Diane KayeSocial Media Management - Vanessa BeinSTAY UP-TO-DATE WITH THE LAW&CRIME NETWORK:Watch Law&Crime Network on YouTubeTV: https://bit.ly/3td2e3yWhere To Watch Law&Crime Network: https://bit.ly/3akxLK5Sign Up For Law&Crime's Daily Newsletter: https://bit.ly/LawandCrimeNewsletterRead Fascinating Articles From Law&Crime Network: https://bit.ly/3td2IqoLAW&CRIME NETWORK SOCIAL MEDIA:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lawandcrime/Twitter: https://twitter.com/LawCrimeNetworkFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lawandcrimeTwitch: https://www.twitch.tv/lawandcrimenetworkTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lawandcrimeSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
What if being "pro-life" simply isn't enough and the Church is called to something greater? In this week's episode of The Narrative, Roland Warren joins CCV Policy Director David Mahan and Communications Director Mike Andrews to discuss his powerful new book, The Alternative to Abortion: Why We Must be Pro Abundant Life. As Christians, this conversation challenges us to rethink our response and rise to a higher standard—one that reflects the heart of Christ. Before Roland shares insights, David and Mike break down the latest from the Ohio Statehouse, including key updates on the Senate's proposed budget and where things stand with the iGaming bill. They unpack what these developments could mean for Ohio families, our economy, and the future of online gambling in the state.
Five Legal Time Bombs in the Kohberger Case That Could Explode at Trial Former prosecutor and defense attorney Eric Faddis joins us for a deep dive into the legal chess match unfolding in the Bryan Kohberger case. As Kohberger faces capital murder charges for the killings of four University of Idaho students, his defense team has filed a motion to delay the trial, citing constitutional violations and incomplete forensic and psychological investigations. But as Faddis explains, there's much more going on beneath the surface. This isn't just about trial prep—it's about preserving appellate leverage. The motion to continue includes references to landmark Supreme Court cases like Wiggins v. Smith and Powell v. Alabama, invoking the concept of “heightened reliability” required in death penalty proceedings. Kohberger's attorneys argue they need more time to complete a full “life history” mitigation investigation—one that includes trauma, mental health evaluations, and multi-generational background records. According to Faddis, these steps are standard in capital cases, but failing to do them thoroughly could open the door to a future reversal on appeal. We also unpack how the defense is weaponizing media coverage, including the recent Dateline NBC special and James Patterson's upcoming book, to argue that Kohberger cannot receive a fair trial under current conditions. Faddis provides expert commentary on whether this pretrial publicity genuinely threatens the jury pool—or if it's a calculated move to frame a potential mistrial argument before trial even begins. Is this defense strategy brilliant or overplayed? What forensic evidence still hasn't been fully vetted? And how is this shaping up to be one of the most complicated capital trials in recent memory? Faddis brings clarity to a case that's anything but clear. #BryanKohberger #EricFaddis #KohbergerTrial #TrueCrimeAnalysis #DeathPenaltyDefense #ForensicLaw #IdahoMurders #KohbergerEvidence #CapitalTrial #CriminalJusticeSystem Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Dateline just leaked explosive evidence in the Bryan Kohberger case—and now the defense claims someone else did it. With the trial coming up late summer... is justice unraveling before it even begins? #STSNation, Welcome to Surviving the Survivor — the podcast that brings you the #BestGuests in all of #TrueCrime, covering the cases that matter most. Tonight, we dive into the Bryan Kohberger legal earthquake. First, the Dateline NBC special aired surveillance footage, phone pings, and graphic search histories—all evidence that may have been under court seal. Now, Judge Steven Hippler says the court's gag order was “likely” violated, a special prosecutor may be appointed, and the entire case could be jeopardized. Then came another curveball: At a May 15 hearing, Kohberger's defense dropped a sealed motion suggesting “alternate perpetrators” may be to blame. The judge wasn't buying it—at least not yet. He's demanding actual evidence before deciding whether the theory will be admissible. Meanwhile, victim families are speaking out. Angela Navejas, mother of Madison Mogen's best friend, says the defense is weaponizing distraction while ignoring the pain of the victims' loved ones. The Goncalves family posted: “One step forward, two steps back.” Is this trial about to implode?⸻ #Support the show:All Things STS: Https://linktr.ee/stspodcastGet Joel's Book: Https://amzn.to/48GwbLxSupport the show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SurvivingTheSurvivorCatch us live on YouTube: Surviving The Survivor: #BestGuests in True Crime - YouTubeVenmo Donations: @STSPodcast

The judge presiding over Bryan Kohberger's case has ordered an investigation into the source or sources of a leak of evidence related to Bryan Kohberger's case to Dateline NBC. The leak came weeks ahead of jury selection which is scheduled to begin July 30. Judge Hippler implied during a pretrial conference that much of the information aired in the report was inadmissible at trial. Hippler also laid out ground rules for the trial. Dateline Just Sealed Kohbergers Fate: 23 Stalking Visits, Violent Searches, and a Chilling Pattern There's evidence… and then there's behavior. In this episode, we go beyond the basics of the Bryan Kohberger case and explore what Dateline NBC has just revealed about the man prosecutors say meticulously stalked his victims — and left behind a trail of digital and psychological clues. Joining us is former FBI Behavioral Analyst Robin Dreeke, who gives expert commentary on the disturbing details presented in Dateline's two-hour special: the 2:52 a.m. text from Kaylee, the clear surveillance video of Kohberger's car, and the 23 late-night phone pings near King Road that prosecutors say signal long-term planning. But what really stands out are Kohberger's Google searches — references to Ted Bundy, as well as explicit porn involving unconscious women. These aren't random clicks. They suggest a level of psychological priming that, in Dreeke's analysis, mirrors behavior seen in past sexual predators and killers. We also analyze how Kohberger allegedly tried to interact with women in socially awkward, overly formal ways — texting a partygoer after a brief chat to say, “I really enjoy that activity.” When put in the context of this case, these moments feel less like quirks and more like signs of deep pathology. We cover the knife sheath DNA, the Amazon Ka-Bar order, and the Indiana traffic stop with his father — but through the lens of behavioral escalation. How do fantasy and fixation become murder? And did Kohberger cross that line long before Nov. 13? This is the psychological autopsy of a suspect — with an FBI expert walking us through every disturbing clue. #BryanKohberger #BehavioralAnalysis #IdahoMurders #FBIProfiler #DatelineNBC #TrueCrimeBreakdown #KohbergerSearchHistory #DigitalTrail #KingRoadMurders #ForensicPsychology Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Ted Bundy Obsession, DNA on Knife Sheath, and 23 Visits: Kohberger Exposed By Dateline In this episode, we unpack Dateline NBC's newest special on the Bryan Kohberger case — and this one drops bombshell after bombshell. From never-before-seen surveillance footage of the white Elantra, to chilling Google searches, to a haunting 2:52 a.m. text from Kaylee Goncalves just moments before her death — this isn't a recap, it's a psychological breakdown of a killer's digital trail. Joining us is retired FBI Behavioral Analyst Robin Dreeke, who helps decode the disturbing patterns behind the evidence. What does it mean that Kohberger's phone pinged near the King Road home 23 times, always after dark? What can we learn from his searches for "drugged," "passed out," and “Ted Bundy” before and after the murders? This isn't just forensic analysis — it's a look into the possible fantasy life of an alleged predator. We explore how prosecutors say Kohberger bought a Ka-Bar knife from Amazon eight months before the murders — the same model found at the scene with his DNA on the sheath. And we dive into his strange social behaviors, including unsolicited texts to women, overly formal messages, and a reported break-in tactic where he allegedly installed surveillance equipment for someone he had frightened. Robin Dreeke lends his behavioral expertise to connect the dots. Are we looking at an individual who escalated from obsession to action — or can the defense's “alternate suspect” theory still hold water? This is your full forensic breakdown — all the texts, searches, photos, and behavior — with FBI-level insight. #BryanKohberger #FBIBehavioralAnalysis #IdahoMurders #TrueCrime #DatelineNBC #KohbergerSearchHistory #WhiteElantra #ForensicPsychology #KohbergerDNA #KingRoadKillings Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Bryan Kohberger's Search History Revealed: 'Passed Out,' 'Drugged,' and Ted Bundy Obsession In this episode, we break down Dateline NBC's most revealing special yet on the case of Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students. This isn't just a rehash — it's a deep forensic and psychological look into Kohberger's alleged behavior before, during, and after the crime. From disturbing internet searches to previously unseen texts and surveillance footage, this case is starting to look more premeditated than ever. One of the biggest revelations? A text from Kaylee Goncalves to her ex-boyfriend Jack at 2:52 a.m., just minutes before the killings began — a haunting detail that solidifies the timeline prosecutors have been building. The Dateline episode also reveals new video of a white Elantra circling the King Road home multiple times, exactly during the window the murders occurred. It's the clearest footage yet, and prosecutors believe it shows Kohberger stalking the scene. But it doesn't stop there. Dateline unveils FBI cell tower analysis showing that Kohberger's phone pinged near the victims' home 23 separate times over four months — always after dark. That kind of pattern points to calculated observation. Add in the fact that Kohberger allegedly bought a Ka-Bar knife eight months prior — the same kind found at the crime scene — and prosecutors believe a narrative of long-term planning is forming. Most disturbing of all may be the search history. Kohberger's phone, seized by law enforcement, contained searches related to serial killer Ted Bundy, and pornography involving unconscious or drugged individuals. These aren't just red flags — they're psychological markers that hint at fantasy becoming action. We also hear from former classmates and partygoers who describe Kohberger's bizarre and formal social behavior, including unsolicited messages to women and awkward encounters months before the attack. Is this the profile of a killer who planned every move? Or an innocent man being digitally cornered by circumstantial evidence? You decide — but first, dive into everything Dateline just laid out in excruciating detail. Inside Kohberger's Mind: Break-Ins, Search History, and the Gloves That Gave Him Away In this episode, we dive deep into the mind of Bryan Kohberger — not through speculation, but through verified evidence and behavioral analysis revealed in the explosive Dateline NBC special. While Chapter 1 laid out the hard forensic and digital facts, this time we're turning the lens toward psychological patterns, red flags, and expert FBI commentary that expose a disturbing escalation in Kohberger's alleged behavior. Retired FBI Behavioral Analyst Greg Cooper joins Dateline to explain what he sees as a clear pattern of "progressive domination." What does that mean? It's the methodical, step-by-step testing of boundaries — and Kohberger, according to newly reported evidence, was allegedly doing just that in the months before the murders. We break down the alleged break-in of a female grad student's apartment, where Kohberger reportedly rearranged her belongings, only to later offer to install surveillance cameras — a move that investigators now believe was staged to allow him to spy on her remotely. It's a chilling story, confirmed by Dateline, that may point to a psychological “rehearsal” before the brutal crimes on King Road. We also examine Kohberger's search history, which included terms like “Ted Bundy,” and graphic pornography involving “passed out,” “drugged,” and “sleeping” individuals — both before and after the murders. These were not random clicks. Behavioral experts say they signal a dark internal world potentially aligned with control, voyeurism, and violent fantasy. Former classmates describe Kohberger's unsettling social behavior, from overly formal follow-up texts to awkward, invasive conversations that made them uneasy. Dateline gives voice to those who noticed something “off” long before his arrest — and only now realize how serious those behaviors may have been. And finally, we unpack Kohberger's post-crime conduct, including his use of latex gloves around the house, bleaching his car, and placing trash into sealed bags he allegedly dumped in a neighbor's bin. His own sister suspected him and reportedly urged the family to check his car — a moment of tension and dread now confirmed on record. This is the side of the case where motive starts to take shape. Not from courtroom drama — but from patterns. From control. From behavior. Watch now as we unpack it all, fact by fact. #BryanKohberger #FBIProfiler #BehavioralAnalysis #IdahoMurders #DatelineNBC #TrueCrime #DigitalForensics #KohbergerSearchHistory #KohbergerTrial #PsychologicalProfile Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Please, welcome our special guest, Coffee and Cases! Make sure you give them a follow and a five-star review! linktr.ee/coffeeandcases When Olivia Lone Bear went missing on October 24, 2017, her family was thrust into a search that would span years, uncovering a series of perplexing details that would leave them without answers. This episode delves into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Olivia's disappearance, from the cryptic final texts sent from her phone to the unexplainable discovery of the truck she had been driving being found just miles from her home. With no clear answers and the investigation stalled, the episode also explores the challenges faced by Indigenous families in the fight for justice, highlighting the systemic barriers that complicate the search for missing women like Olivia. As we examine the key pieces of this case, we also ask: who might Olivia have been with on the night she disappeared? Was the truck's location an accident or something more sinister? Could the mysterious digital footprints left behind be part of a larger story, and why has no one come forward with answers? Sources: AP News. (2019, November 20). Timothy Gilliam, thirty-two at the time, began chatting with a Perverted Justice decoy who was posing as a fourteen-year-old girl. Despite the fact that his chat log is not accessible online, it is known that he asked the girl if she had ever experienced oral and anal sex. He repeatedly displayed his penis on a webcam and asked if he could teach her how to orgasm. Gilliam admitted having watched Dateline NBC episodes where older men were arrested for attempting to meet underage children for sex. He was not happy to meet Chris. In this episode, we welcome J. Warner Wallace back to the show. He is a cold-case homicide detective, popular national speaker, and a best-selling author. He became a Christ-follower at the age of thirty-five after investigating the claims of the New Testament gospels using his skill set as a detective. He eventually earned a Master's Degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary. You have likely caught him on television at some point as his cases have been featured on Dateline NBC more than any other detective, and he's also appeared on Court TV and Fox News. He's authored bestsellers like God's Crime Scene, and Forensic Faith. We spend most of this interview discussing his newest book The Truth in True Crime. In this interview, we discuss the importance of objective morality, how often he thinks about the cold-case murders that he couldn't solve, the problem with tethering our identity to shiftable foundations, the importance of building godly and manly community, everyone's propensity for darkness and malevolence, the thing that every gangster has in common, and much more.
