Shirley Harris is the author of the new book entitled Conversations With The Little Girl Within, A Journey of Forgiveness, Healing and Liberation From Unresolved Childhood Issues. Children don't have much to say about the families they are born into.  Subsequently far too many children grow up in homes with family dysfunctions ranging from physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, drug addicted parents and other adverse experiences.  What so many neglectful and abusive parents fail to realize during child rearing is that, that child is going to grow up to be an adult some day and that adult will be tarnished and will remember the traumatic abuse they suffered. Shirley's book details some of her adverse childhood experiences and how as a adult she was able to find forgiveness and healing through many spiritual modalities that liberated her from her painful memories. Mayor Bill Bell of Durham, North Carolina, will be on FAR ROCK LIVE to share his views about the good things that are happening in Durham; as well as talk about what he's gleaned from being in public office for over 20 years. Formerly a senior engineer for IBM, Mayor Bell was first elected to the Durham County Board of Commissioners in 1972, where he served until 1994, and again from 1996 to 2000. He was the chairman of the Durham County Commissioners from 1982 to 1994. Bell was first elected mayor of Durham in 2001 and was re-elected in 2003 and in 2005. This show is dedicated to the memory of Ronnie Sturdivant, a dear friend, a well known entrepreneur, author, and speaker in the Durham, North Carolina area. Ronnie was slain on August 30, 2008. Ronnie helped many, many people in the Durham community. He was a visionary and a man who always had a smile on his face and words of wisdom to share. Much love and peace to his grieving family in this time of sorrow.

Darrell is a spoken word artist, cultural historian and author; who is always ready, willing and able to perform his poetry. He first published some of his poetry in the Black Explosion Newspaper around 1978. Reaction from people was extensive and very positive. He continued to develop as a poet and became know in poetic circles as "The Man in the Green Hat." He is also known for his great compilations in Record of the Green Hat Chronicles, Volume 1.
