    Phontaine Thompson is a public speaker who speaks about mental health and suicide prevention. She speaks with high school and college students about suicide prevention and depression. Phontaine knows the importance of making an impact on young adults. Phontaine grew up right in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. She has also struggled with mental health issues as a teenager. She survived two suicide attempts as a teenager from the result of being bullied in school. She is now dedicated to continuing the conversation about mental health and how important it is to the world. Phontaine hosts an annual conference called, “Women's Mental Health Day”. Women's Mental Health Day is a day filled with prayer, meditation, and relaxation. We push for attending therapy and self care. My goal is for this day to be a pure success and for these ladies to leave with a big smile on their face. Phontaine loves reading books, running, and spending time with family and friends.         Jazzmine ‘Rural Black Doula” Brooks is a scholar, certified full spectrum doula, and RYT 200 Hatha Yoga of the Himalayan Tradition and SomaYoga Therapy Instructor in Central Iowa.    Jazzmine believes in empowering Black, Indigenous, and folks of color through community, support, and resource sharing. Powered by the desire to address Black women and infant maternal health, she encourages space for people to control their narratives and share their own stories. Jazzmine is the founder and Executive Director of Jai Olive Wellness. Jai Olive Wellness, a 501(c)3, provides a cooperative space to mobilize communities and coalition-build to improve health outcomes and center the culture and needs of diverse families in rural communities through education, services, and partnership.   She also organizes a national summer book club (Lotus Sisters), Kindred, a movement, restorative healing, and connection space, and is the host of the Rural Black Doula Chronicles and the Being Olivia podcast. Jazzmine is currently a liaison for a doula project that supports Black families and co-creating a doula project to serve immigrant and refugee families.   Jazzmine is currently a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at Iowa State University. Her research focus is on the reclamation of traditional medicine and Black midwifery.     Omisade Burney-Scott is a Black southern 7th generation native North Carolinian feminist, social justice advocate and storyteller.  Omisade has spent the better part of the past 25 years of her life focused on the liberation of marginalized people, beginning with her own community through advocacy work, philanthropy, community organizing and culture work. She is a founding tribe member of SpiritHouse and previously served as a board member of The Beautiful Project, Village of Wisdom, Working Films and stone circles. Omisade is the creator/curator of The Black Girls' Guide to Surviving Menopause, a multimedia project seeking to curate and share the stories and realities of Black women, femmes and non binary people as they navigate menopause and aging. This project is a direct result of Omisade finding herself and her peers living at the intersection of social justice movement work, creative healer identities and aging. Omisade is a native of New Bern, North Carolina and a 1989 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. She is the proud mom of two sons, Che and Taj and resides in Durham, North Carolina.
