In Part 4 of, “Living and Giving the Gospel,” Matt Heard encourages us to embrace the Story of the Gospel summarized by Jesus in John 10:10 — “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” We all love stories because of an underlying reason: all compelling stories reflect the great, cosmic Story of God rescuing His creation through Christ. The Gospel is about a Plot — a plot to redeem and restore a fallen planet, including us. As a result, the Gospel is an Invitation to be a part of the Story of Jesus by responding to His yearning for us, as His image-bearers, to be lovingly restored to the Life He originally intended when He created us. Mother's Day is a beautiful celebration, but it can also be a day filled with complicated emotions. In this Mother's Day message, we are reminded that hope is not found in doing everything right, but in trusting the God who gives it freely. Through Romans 15:13, this sermon speaks honestly to moms carrying guilt, exhaustion, and worry, and offers a renewed vision of joy, peace, and strength that comes from believing. When hope feels lost and the future feels heavy, God meets us with more than enough, filling us beyond what we think we need and reminding every mom that she is not alone, not finished, and not without hope. In Part 3 of Living and Giving the Gospel, Matt Heard continues the journey through John 4 and Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well, exploring the deep thirst that drives every human heart. This message looks at why our longings matter, how we often try to satisfy them in temporary ways, and how Jesus offers something far deeper and lasting than anything else we pursue. Through vivid stories and everyday language, we are invited to see eternal life not just as a future promise but as a present, life giving relationship with God that reshapes how we live and how we share hope with others. What do we do with the deep longings that shape our lives? In Part 2 of Living and Giving the Gospel, Matt Heard returns to John 4 and the story of Jesus and the woman at the well to explore the ache, thirst, and yearning we all carry. From everyday pursuits to misplaced hopes, this message invites us to honestly acknowledge our longings and discern how we try to satisfy them. Jesus does not dismiss our desires. He reveals that they point to something deeper and better than anything we can manufacture on our own. Discover how recognizing what you truly thirst for opens the door to experiencing real life and prepares you to share that life with others. (04/26/2026)

What are we really thirsty for in life, and are we asking for the right thing? Pastor Matt Heard walks through Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well in John 4 and shows how what we want is often different from what we truly need. Jesus offers more than temporary fixes or surface level satisfaction. He offers real life, the kind that fills us from the inside out and never runs dry. This sermon invites us to experience that life personally and then share it with others, learning how to live out the good news daily and pass it on with clarity, compassion, and purpose. (04/19/2026)

In this message, we are invited into one of the most personal moments of Jesus' life, when He chose a towel and a basin instead of a throne. From John 13, we see that following Jesus is not just about what we believe, but how we live. As Jesus washes the feet of His disciples, He shows us a powerful picture of humility, love, and service in action. This sermon challenges us to move beyond inspiration into obedience by knowing the example Jesus set, trusting Him even when we do not fully understand, and putting His way of life into practice at home, at work, and in our community. When we choose to serve others with humility, we begin to reflect the heart of Jesus and experience the blessing that comes from living out what we know. (04/12/2026)

What does Easter really mean for everyday life? Pastor Matt Heard invites us to look beyond traditions and into the powerful reality of Jesus rising from the dead. Through the story of the empty tomb and Jesus' claim to be the light of the world, we explore why the resurrection is not just something to believe but something that changes how we live. This message highlights how the resurrection brings real life, restored relationship with God, and lasting hope even in dark seasons. Discover how the light of Jesus still breaks through doubt, fear, and disappointment and how you are personally invited to step into that light today. (04/05/2026)

What do you do when what you hoped for and what you are living do not line up? Pastor Jarian Felton walks through Matthew 21 and invites us to look at the tension between expectation and experience. As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowd expects power, victory, and immediate change, but what unfolds looks nothing like what they imagined. This message helps us see how often we approach God with our own picture of how things should go and how disappointment can grow when reality does not match that picture. Through the story of the triumphal entry and the road to the cross, we are reminded that Jesus may not always meet our expectations, but He is always working for our good, leading us toward hope, restoration, and new life even when the path looks unexpected. (03/29/26)

What do we do when life breaks open and trouble finds us? Pastor Matt Heard explores how pain and crisis are unavoidable parts of life, but they do not have to be wasted. Jesus reminds us that trouble will come, yet peace is still possible, and Scripture shows that our response matters. We can try to escape discomfort or we can engage it with an open and willing posture. Drawing from passages like 2 Corinthians 4 and James 1, this sermon invites us to see hardship as a turning point that can deepen character, strengthen trust, and shape a more resilient faith. Discover how choosing engagement over avoidance allows God to bring healing, purpose, and new life even through our most difficult seasons. (03/22/2026)

What do we do when trouble shows up and refuses to leave? In this message, Pastor Matt Heard reminds us that pain is not optional, but our response is. Jesus promised peace, not the absence of hardship, and the way we respond in difficult seasons shapes who we become. This sermon explores two common reactions to suffering, escape or engage, and why choosing to lean in with a humble and open heart leads to growth, healing, and deeper strength. Through honest stories and Scripture, we are invited to stop numbing our pain or pretending it is not there and instead allow God to use it to refine us, restore us, and move us forward into new life and hope. Thank you for joining us for today's message, which is continuing the sermon series focused on the book of Colossians. In today's passage, Paul challenges the old belief that access to God was limited to a select few high priests. Instead, Colossians 1:27 teaches us that Christ, the "hope of glory," is in each of us. Christ in us is not an abstract concept, but a loving, peaceful, joyful, guiding presence to guide is as we live. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Thank you for joining us for today's message, which is continuing the sermon series from last year that focuses on the book of Colossians. Today's message looks at Paul's guidance for our relationships with God and other people. This passage starts with verse 17, which gives us the most important wisdom for relationships: "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's message that is concluding our series Built to Last. Earlier services focused on the upward and inward aspects of a life built to last, and today's message focuses on the outward aspect of the life God offers to us. As we consider this outward focus of caring about other people, we answer three key questions. What in the world is God doing? Who in the world does God use? How in the world can I participate? If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's message that continues the series Built to Last. One of the fundamental teachings of the New Testament is that we are to love God and love other people; if we don't love others, we are not loving God. Pastor Chris walks us through scriptures that show us how loving others builds in us the kind of faith that lasts. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for the first message of our new series, Built to Last. This series is based on the book of 1 John, written by the Apostle John near the end of his life, so John shares his perspective on how God has been faithful in building believers, churches, and ministries that can stand firm. In this worship service, we example how God leads us to build our lives to last by focusing upward, inward, and outward. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's special Christmas Eve service! Pastor Chris guides us through the story of the birth of Jesus in Luke chapter 2, especially God's choice of shepherds to spread the Good News that Jesus the Messiah had been born. God didn't choose messengers that were royalty, or that had power, or that were popular, because Jesus wasn't born only for the elite but for all of us. The Good News of Jesus continued through His teachings of love and care for others, through His death, and through His victory over death and His assurance of victory for all of us. We know, even in our anxious and stressful lives, that we have nothing to fear because Jesus is with us. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris shares insights from the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist. Zechariah and Elizabeth were old and childless when God gave them a child, and Zechariah had trouble believing this joyous news. But for Zechariah, and for us, God's promises can be trusted, God's purposes for us are good, it is never too late for God to act, and we are never too far away for God to reach us. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! As we approach Christmas, Pastor Chris brings our attention to the visit by the angel Gabriel to Mary, who was the first person to hear of the coming of Jesus. In Gabriel's discussion with Mary, we find four statements of good news that are true for us just as they were true for Mary: God is with us, we do not need to be afraid, Christ's kingdom has no end, and nothing is impossible with God. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! We're continuing in our study of the book of Colossians, examining Paul's guidance in chapter three of how we can be radically transformed by the love of God. Pastor Chris breaks down for us how our relationships can be transformed by God's presence in our lives, including our relationships with God, with other people, with our selves, with the scriptures, and with the local church. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Reading from the second chapter of the book of Colossians, Pastor Chris identifies for us four competing versions of "truth" that sow confusion in our society, detracting from the real truth of the Gospel. In Paul's letter, he identifies the distractions created through misplaced human philosophy, through confusion regarding Jewish law, through false spirituality practices, and through adding legalism to Christian beliefs. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 teaches us how to counter this confusion: "Test everything; hold on to the good." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris continues teaching from the book of Colossians, and this week focuses on the first eleven verses of chapter three. In this passage, Pastor Chris teaches us five movements in our spiritual development that Paul lays out for us, as we set aside our old selves and become more like Jesus. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's special worship service, held at the property where our church building soon will start construction! Pastor Chris shares a story from the end of 2 Samuel where King David erects an altar at God's direction to end a plague affecting that kingdom. Just as in the Bible story, our community is suffering in depression, anxiety, desperation, and sin. Just as in the story, God has called us and provided for us what we need to build a place of worship that God can use to heal and restore our community. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Marcio focuses us today on Matthew 16:13-17, a conversation between Jesus and His disciples about who people say He is. We each make choices in how we live and how we treat others based on our personal answer to this essential question. Pastor Marcio guides us to think about who we truly believe Jesus is, and about what choices we will make based on the Lordship of Jesus in our lives. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! As we continue our study of Colossians, Pastor Chris calls us to reflect on what is important to us, and how that has changed as we have matured. Paul called for his readers to consider the same question, and to choose to invest themselves in the immortal. We see in this passage three steps Paul gives us for how to become spiritually rich. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! We're continuing our study of Paul's letter to the church in Colossae, looking in the first chapter at verses 15-23. In these brief verses, Paul puts forward that in God through Jesus Christ, we have been created, redeemed from our sinfulness, and restored in our relationship to God. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today we're beginning a series based on the book of Colossians, written by Paul when he was imprisoned in Rome. In this letter, Paul guides the church in Colossae to abandon false teaching and embrace the simple, profound truth of the Gospel. Paster Marcio leads us to consider three seeds of transformation that Paul presents: faith, hope, and love. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service. We're wrapping up the "God's Story, Your Story" series with the divine gift of restoration. Jesus' ministry was filled with acts of restoration in the healing of broken bodies, the renewal of broken souls, and the demonstration that God is with us, even in turning death into everlasting life. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service AND our church's seventh birthday! Pastor Chris continues our series "God's Story, Your Story" by guiding us to understand the profound grace in God's offer of redemption to us. Through sin in the Garden of Eden, death came into our world and enslaved us. We are not capable of buying our release from death, but Jesus Christ has redeemed each of us from death. The Hebrew word we translate as "redemption" literally translates as "to buy back." In this redemption, we receive forgiveness for our sins, restoration of our relationship with God, and security in our future after this earthly life. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor David Loveless starts with this question: "When is the last time your day went exactly as you planned?" As he leads us through Psalm 118, we see where God instructs us to live in the present with the grace God provides for this day. In stories of Jesus' ministry we see how Jesus engaged with people in the present, not allowing concerns for the future or frustrations in the past distract from the right actions to take in the moment. Pastor David led the congregation in this prayer about living in one day's grace: "Lord, I welcome You and this day. I welcome its joys and its struggles. I trust You are using it all to fill me, to form me, and to flow through me. I let go of my need to control this day and open my heart to Your presence that's in it. Teach me to live with You, inside one day's grace, and not miss any of the gifts. Amen." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today, Pastor Chris is guiding us into the difficult topic of evil and suffering in our world. He verbalizes the question we all have asked at some time, "If God is loving, powerful, and aware, why does evil exist?" To explore this question, Pastor Chris teaches from the first chapters in Genesis and the temptation for Adam and Eve -- and us -- to become like God rather than to be who God created us to be. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today, we're starting a new series called "God's Story, Your Story" to look at God's big dream for humanity and our parts in it. Pastor Chris is starting in Genesis 1 and exploring what it means to us that we are each made by God, and made in our uniqueness to find our true purpose in God. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Sócrates finishes our series titled "Witness" with a look at where Horizon West Church is serving others and spreading the Good News. The worship team also leads us in prayers of commitment to the work that God is calling each of us to do where we are and where God sends us. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Sócrates continues our series "Witness" in today's service with a focus on the phrase "in Judea and Samaria" in Acts 1:8. He shares with us the historical and social context that Jesus' disciples would have understood when they received this instruction. As we learn how harshly those in Judea felt about those in Samaria, we see that same temptation in our age to ignore and reject "those" people. Pastor Sócrates rephrases Jesus' instructions for us: to go share the good news with those people, and to trust the promise of Jesus that we'll be blown away by what He will do. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris continues the series based on Acts 1:8 with a careful look at how we are to share our faith "in Jerusalem." For Jesus' disciples, the city of Jerusalem meant the center of the Jewish faith, home to the Temple and the Ark of the Covenant. This is not the case for the Christian faith. As Pastor Chris states, "the center of God's plan is not a place called Jerusalem but a person named Jesus." This Jesus instructed His disciples to start their witnessing where they already were, interacting with the people they already knew. Like the saintly instruction states, "bloom where you're planted." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris is starting a new series based on Jesus' instruction to us in Acts 1:8 to be His witnesses. In today's message, we face up to the reality that what Jesus calls us to do is humanly impossible. We need the power of the Holy Spirit, living in us and working through us. As we share our stories of how God has changed us, the Spirit works to transform the hearts and minds who hear us. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris leads us to review the work of the apostle Andrew from the brief accounts of him in the Gospels. What we see Andrew doing, and what we also can do, is point people to Jesus, notice who is around us, and start with those closest to us. In wherever we go, and with whoever we meet, we can share God's love in us with others, pointing them to Jesus. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Pastor Chris concludes our Summer in the Psalms series with Psalm 51. This psalm marked the time in King David's life that he was confronted with his sin and repented, and his prayer to God in this psalm guides us when we find that we need to repent. David's prayer expressed his confidence in God's mercy for us, his honesty about his own sin, his receptivity to change as God led, his vision for how God could use him, and an understanding of God's heart. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Our guest speaker today is Holly Rockefeller, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a member of Horizon West Church. Holly shares with us God's love letter to us given in Psalm 139. We read in these passages that God knows us better than anyone else, and God loves us more than anyone else. Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Our guest preacher this morning, Korey Deck, pastors Living Springs Church in DeBary, and previously was the Online Campus pastor for First Baptist Orlando. Pastor Korey selects verse 105 from the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119 for our study this morning: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." In the context of the "decision fatigue" that is prevalent in our fast-moving, complicated society, this verse, as well as Paul's farewell in Ephesus recorded in Acts 20, is a life-saver. As Pastor Korey explains, God promises to give us enough light for our next steps in the difficulties and decisions we face. God chooses not to show us our entire path, instead leading us to grow in faith by trusting for each day's steps. Our steps will not always be easy, and we will encounter problems and resistance, but God will be with us always. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. At a time in his life where he needed God's leadership, Psalm 19 guided him to hear from God through His creation, His Word, and His Spirit. Pastor Marcio teaches us this same guideline to improving our communication and relationship with God. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Our guest preacher this morning is Stefen Gage from No Walls Church. His message is on Psalm 91, a psalm written by Moses as he and the descendants of Abraham entered the wilderness on the way to the Promised Land. Just like the Israelites, God offers us a secret place: available to all who seek, a place where we are invited to dwell, a place with divine benefits, and a place where God covers us when we face the battles in our life. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! The theme of this VBS has been Live It Out, with each day having a particular emphasis in how we are to live as followers of Christ. Pastor Chris teaches us today that the early church, known as Followers of the Way, demonstrated remarkable devotion to God and radical generosity to all others, so that God's love was seen and experienced. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! We find great wisdom in how to live today in the ancient words of Psalm 27. Pastor Chris explains this timelessness, saying "the Psalms show us the touch point between the mess of life and the majesty of God." In this psalm, David shows us what it means to be a "man after God's own heart." David placed his unwavering confidence in God, kept his focus on God, and expressed his worship of God in any location and any situation. Pastor Chris extends the invitation to us in our times of struggle to place our confidence in Jesus, who told us in John 16:22 to "take heart, because I have overcome the world." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today's psalmist, who wrote Psalm 10, cried "why?" in an honest expression of pain and a sincere trust that God would answer. On this Father's Day Sunday, we recognize two strong temptations that men experience in our society as it relates to emotions: the "loose cannon" that inflicts emotional pain on others, and the "locked vault" that inflicts emotional pain on himself. Pastor Chris teaches us the invitation in this psalm, and across the collection of psalms, to a healthier, happier, and more godly way to manage our emotions. If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! We continue our summer studies this morning with a close look at Psalm 23, focusing on how this psalm reveals God to us and points us to the coming of Jesus. We see how the poet, David, describes God as a loving provider, a rest giver, a good leader, a generous friend, and a faithful presence in his life. In our lives, whether we are in green pastures or dark valleys, God wants to be all of that for us, too! If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today, we start a new series studying the Psalms to see how these ancient songs expand our understanding of God and point us to the future coming of Jesus. Today, Pastor Chris leads us in contemplating Psalm 8 and it's declaration of the majesty of God. The Psalmist wrote of our place in the world, and the eternal tension of how we are made in the image of God but we are not God. In the person of Jesus, fully God and fully human, we have the perfect resolution of that tension and our reconciliation with God.
