In Part 2 of my new ongoing series on the tore community I dive a bit into the work we were doing and some of my concerns based on my experiences as well as   conversations I've had with individuals from other states over the past year.  I believe very strongly in the power of the pen but I believe more in the person holding that pen and what they will be capable of given the right tools, education and practice. New YouTube channel linked below!This is part one in a series that will be ongoing.  I've learned a lot since recording this episode and believe that my voice and platform are somehow important in shining a light on this specific community, which has global reach. In this solo episode I focus on groups, communities and cults through the lens of my personal past and most recent experience.  I tell how I found Tore, why I put her on a pedestal for two years, the events that took place while I was in her telegram community and what led to me turning her off and unsubscribing from all her channels. This episode is near and dear to my heart as I have been growing more concerned about the new cult of thinking around gender ideology and how it specifically is effecting women and children while pushing onto multiple generations the importance of physical traits as self defining while leaving behind the lessons of cultivating character and finding deep self worth from within.  It took a long time for me to have the courage to address this due to my own love of many people who identify with the "community", myself included as a bisexual woman.  I've watched a small sect within the alphabet soup movement (which is far to many letters to truly represent anyone within properly) once born from being ostracized by society become a corporate and political driven agenda, controlling, judgmental and intolerant of anyone who questions, refuses to speak "correctly" and blindly conform.  Of those ostracized are many Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Trans people who are once again and being closeted by their peers, but this time,  for their view points, thoughts and beliefs.   At the end of the episode I've included a reading of a fantastic article written by Gary Lucia, a gay Disney artist who has contributed much to the forward movement of gay and lesbian rights through the decades.  He, like many others is deeply troubled by what is happening and he is refusing to remain silent.  I believe in the right of all adults to express themselves as they choose, but I am against pushing sexual and gender confusion through societal pressure to conform  and fit in onto young, easily influenced children as well as teaching ideology of any kind in schools.  I hope you came with an open mind.  I'm fully prepared to upset people on both sides of the aisle, but I bring my anger with a heart full of love. I'm back after a long break and excited for a new year and season 2 of Into the River with new guests, returning friends and a wide range of topics.  All are welcome and absolutely nothing is off limits.   In this episode Ashlie shares her experience of discovering her husbands addiction years into marriage and offers a beautiful perspective and help for those going through the same. After the Heart Beat bill passed in Texas, Brittany and I did our best to cover the widely emotional and controversial subject of abortion.  We don't share the exact same viewpoint on everything but we were able to have a beneficial conversation discussing some of the complexities of the topic.  We cover the different types of abortion, the origins of Planned Parenthood, Eugenics, systemic targeting of black Americans, the recent Texas bill SB8 and much more.  At the end of the day, I feel we just scratched the surface and I am personally still committed to ongoing my education on the topic and I hope you do too.  I hope no matter what, we can have understanding and compassion for one another regardless. What a great discussion with my new friend New York Patriot! He is an ex secret society member who exposes cults on Instagram and his podcast the NY Patriot.  He caught my attention because he is not afraid to challenge the narrative for the purpose of promoting critical thought.  We highlight some of the positives of the Q movement as well as some of the pitfalls that come when groups or movements happen.  In the age of rapid cancellation on both the right and the left, I believe we benefit from deeper discussions with out of the box thinkers.
