Nyan Cat is back... well, not exactly. In this weird manga-adapted anime, we follow survivors of a catpocalypse, where a mysterious virus infecting feline friends has made it so that any interaction turns humans into cats. We join Kunagi and Kaoru as they attempt to escape hordes of whiskered predators, while also learning about their backstories working at a cat café. In the podcast, we compare the show to series like Exploding Kittens, Doctor Who, and Uzumaki, while asking the important questions that such a wild premise inspires. Tune in, and welcome to Today's Episode!

Every week on Thursdays at 10am BST, Kate R runs a Reading Club available for everyone no matter their level in order to empower everyone in English. It is part of Intrepid English's mission for equality in education, which is one of our core values. It is an opportunity to not only practice your reading skills but also your pronunciation and public speaking skills. I love our Reading Club because I love sharing thoughts with people around the world and having interesting discussions.– Kaoru, Intrepid English Student
It's time for The Truth!Today, Sam and Dougie are looking at Brighton & Hove Albion, who are having an impressive season - but also one that's been permeated with strange results and odd streaks of form that have been up and down. On the verge of the Champions League places, things look pretty good under Fabian Hurzeler, who was brought in from St Pauli at the start of the season, who guided them to their best ever start, before going on an 8-game unbeaten run, then losing 7-0 to Nottingham Forest, and bouncing back with a four game win streak that has them looking well-placed for a return to European football. We look at a big summer spending spree, the new additions and how they've fitted in, tactical changes throughout the course of the campaign and where the future lies for a club who have made a habit of hitting the nail on the head with almost everything they've done in recent years. Is their Champions League chase an outlier in what has been a weird Premier League season, or should we be expecting the Seagulls' trajectory to keep going firmly in an upward direction? Well, The Truth is somewhere in the middle... And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
Episode 62 is here pals! It's our Chris Things Art "Match of the Week" Edition w/ my dear friend Bradley, chattin' 2 of my favourite matches that we've watched of late, my illustrations of said matches, a bunch of Lucha talk & also a surprise little chat about Robert Eggers' Nosferatu! Those matches being that 2001 Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis CMLL classic (AGAIN!) & of course, the 'main event' of my most recent Wrestling Club in person event at Scratch, the year 2000's Aja Kong vs KAORU bout that likely has left quite the mark on all who've seen it!In my "Latest in the world of Chris Things" intro monologue, I chat about the totally delightful time that was this pst weekend. Including a wonderful Lucha Fantastica event in Melbourne & getting along to The Scratch's 'big ol' Weekend of Tartness' that featured my current solo show (still up in what I assume to be it's closing days if you haven't caught it yet!) & some utterly amazing kitting out of the bar & staff to the wonderful world of Lucha Libre! I also have a little ponder about whether or not it's a bit 'wanky' for me to like to hang around my own art shows as much as I do.Enjoy!!Check out the Chris Things MOTW illustrations in question here: M.O.T.W. 72: Dr. Wagner Jr. vs AtlantisM.O.T.W. 73: Aja Kong vs KAORUChrisThings.com.au is the place for original art, prints, calendars & much more!Follow us on Instagram: @ChrisThings, @DegreehanArt @SocialSuplexFollow us on Twitter: @ChrisThings, @SocialSuplexLike on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SocialSuplex/Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/QUaJfaCVisit our website for news, columns, and podcasts: https://socialsuplex.com/Join the Social Suplex community Facebook Group: The Wrestling (Squared) CircleWrestling-Art with Chris Things is the Pro-Wrestling Art niche Podcast of the Social Suplex Podcast Network. In this free podcast from the POST Wrestling Café, Karen Peterson (POST Puroresu) and JP Houlihan (GRAPPL Spotlight) review Netflix's The Queen of the Villains, the historical dramatic presentation of the rise of Dump Matsumoto. The series focuses on the evolution of Kaoru Matsumoto, a young wrestling hopeful to one of the most hated wrestlers in Japan. Kaoru's turbulent home life, the meteoric rise of The Crush Gals, the machinations of the Matsunaga Brothers, and the toxic hierarchical dojo culture all feed into the powder keg that propels Matsumoto into darkness.Karen and JP also discuss the stereotypes and expectations of women in Japanese society, entertainment, and sports, taking off the wrestling fan hat and viewing the series from a casual viewer perspective, the involvement of Chigusa Nagayo and the MARVELOUS wrestlers in the training of the talent, as well as idol culture, parasocialism, approaching the series from the times of the 70's and 80's, and the complicated ties of wrestling to the entertainment industry. ----------Watch this podcast: https://youtu.be/urggaio0Gs4----------Recommended MediaTransformed Bodies and Gender: Experiences of Women Pro-Wrestlers in Japan - By Dr. Keiko Aiba, Meiji Gakuin University, Union Press (2017)Sisterhood of the Squared Circle: The History and Rise of Women's Wrestling - By Pat Laprade & Dan Murphy (2017)Articles and DocumentariesThe Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer *Subscription requiredAll Japan Women Out of Business (April 4, 2005)*Takashi Matsunaga Dies (July 20, 2009)*GAEA Girls Documentary (2000; Subtitled) by Kim Longiotto & Jano WilliamsNetflix JP Documentary on Queen of the VillainsAdditional Show Notes & Recommendations in Dream Slam Monthly. [School of Everything Else 2024] The conclusion (for now) to this series of shows on the triumphant return of Star Trek. Season 2 slaloms between unsettling and dark episodes which would feel more at home in Discovery if they weren't so personal to the characters in this rich ensemble... and some of the most hilarious, touching, light-hearted yet heart-breaking downtime episodes which highlight the comedy strengths and the charisma of everyone in the crew. It's bumpy, but so worth the journey. Kaoru's recommended episodes of the original 1966 series, AND the redheaded stepchild of Star Trek, the much maligned Enterprise series which ran for 98 episodes from 2001-2005. TOS S1-24: Space Seed TOS S2-7: Wolf in the Fold ENTERPRISE S4-4 to 6: Borderland/Cold Station 12/The Augments Chris' Suggestion: The Orville - Season 2 Debbie's Suggestion: Talistheintrovert on YouTube with her presentation "PSYCH the best Sherlock Holmes adaptation in existence". Jesse's Book Pick: This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone. Sharon's Book Pick: The Truce at Bakura by Kathy Tyers. The Bad Batch S2-E12: The Outpost. [School of Everything Else 2024] This is one of two commissioned podcasts on the first two seasons of the best Star Trek shows in decades. Refreshingly lacking in cynicism and tapping into the Kennedy-era energy of exploration and endeavour with a tight focus on character development, this one really is worth your time. We spend two and a half hours of spoilerific, textured discussion time really delving into these first ten episodes. Kaoru's recommended episodes of the original 1966 series to watch for additional context... [School of Everything Else 2024] Part 6 of 6 We come to it at last. The final episodes of one of the greatest animated shows ever gifted to TV. And we pulled out all the stops this time, because it's bittersweet to say goodbye again. Originally I planned to get this whole season discussed in one sit-down session, considering how much ground we had covered back in Season 1 with two sessions. But in the end a second was essential. What we have here is that unplanned final session with Kaoru & Debbie (joyfully back after a long absence while they brought a small person into the world) blended with segments held over from that first recording to close us out with fireworks. Many thanks to everyone involved in this challenging and rewarding project. You made it special, like it deserved to be. Episodes Covered: Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future / Xpcveaoqfoxso / Escape from Reality / Take Back the Falls I / Take Back the Falls II Guests: From Sequentially Yours Kaoru Negisa @Moonpanther22 and Debbie Morse @bastet8300 Toby Jungius @TJungius of Through the Wind Door Hollywoo Actress Maya Souris @Mayasantandrea Victoria Luna B. Puntata speciale dedicata al Giappone: quello raccontato con lo sguardo di due scrittrici italiane che vivono in Giappone da molti anni e quello narrato da una delle scrittrici più popolari nel Sol Levante.

Research on Information Processing of the Attacking Side in 1v1 Football Situations by Kaoru Mitoma.
Acclaimed composer, multi-instrumentalist, and Silk Road Ensemble member Kaoru Watanabe began playing Western Classical music at a very young age. After graduating from conservatory as a jazz flutist and saxophonist, he spent a decade overseas performing with and ultimately leading the world-renowned Taiko drum performance group Kodo. Kaoru reflects upon his ten years in Japan and how it profoundly influenced his practice, artistry, and identity. Now a leading musician of both the Taiko drum and the Japanese transverse flute Shinobue, Kaoru describes the pure elegance and brute force of the practice and the visceral response he felt the first time he saw them performed at Carnegie Hall. David considers Kaoru's numerous collaborations while discussing how Kaoru retains a sense of authenticity and the natural world informs and inspires his creative process.Check out Kaoru Watanabe on Instagram, Facebook, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, or the web.Don't miss this video of Kaoru playing in the natural world as discussed in the interview.Follow Speaking Soundly on Instagram.Follow David on Instagram. You can find out more about Artful Narratives Media on Instagram and the web.The Speaking Soundly theme song is composed by Joseph Saba/Stewart Winter and used by permission of Videohelper.Speaking Soundly was co-created by David Krauss and Jessica Handelman. 7 Things You Didn't Know About Kaoru Mitoma If there's one thing Brighton know how to do, it's how to scout for pure talent. And they have proven that yet again with Kaoru Mitoma. They signed him from Japan in 2021 and he has been phenomenal ever since he landed in England. But many still don't know who this dude is, so let's take a look at 7 things you probably didn't know about Kaoru Mitoma.
Guest host Alastair and fellow Greater Manchester based Seagulls Nick and Dom provide the coverage as Albion roasted the turkeys that currently seem to be Everton, maintaining the team's excellent away form. Kaoru, Evan and Pascal were again amongst the scorers as we romped to victory on another milestone night. The only disappointment came in conceding a late pen, a mistake which Spurs however DID avoid as they ran out 0-4 winners at Selhurst the following day
The rise of Kaoru Mitoma. Kaoru Mitoma is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion and the Japan national team. The Japan national football team, nicknamed the Samurai Blue, represents Japan in men's international football. It is controlled by the Japan Football Association, the governing body for football in Japan. Japan was not a major football force until the end of the 1980s, with a small and amateur team. This second half of Lady Joker, by Kaoru Takamura, the Grand Dame of Japanese crime fiction, concludes the breathtaking saga introduced in Volume I. Inspired by the real-life Glico-Morinaga kidnapping, an unsolved case that terrorized Japan for two years, Lady Joker reimagines the circumstances of this watershed episode in modern Japanese history and brings into riveting focus the lives and motivations of the victims, the perpetrators, the heroes and the villains. As the shady networks linking corporations to syndicates are brought to light, the stakes rise, and some of the professionals we have watched try to fight their way through this crisis will lose everything—some even their lives. Will the culprits ever be brought to justice? More importantly—what is justice?
