Carburetors have long been one of the very first performance upgrades people make to their classic Volkswagens. But with so many choices out there—Weber DCNFs, IDAs, IDFs, and the various Dellorto options in 36, 40, and 45mm—it can be hard to know which setup is right for your engine. In this episode, we sit down with Rick Hunt of Rick Hunt Industries, a man who rebuilds carburetors every single day. Rick has been part of the Volkswagen scene since the mid-1980s, when he started working at a VW shop in Simi Valley. There he learned mechanical work, engine rebuilding, and eventually developed a specialty in carburetors—something he's become widely known for throughout the VW community. Today, Rick rebuilds carburetors for professional engine builders and enthusiasts alike. His deep knowledge of Weber and Dellorto carburetors helps people choose the right setup for their engine combination and get the most performance out of their dual-carb systems. We talk about the differences between popular carburetor models, common mistakes people make when selecting carbs, and what information you should provide when sending your carburetors in for a rebuild. The more details you give, the better the end result when you receive those freshly rebuilt Webers back. If you've ever wondered which carburetor setup is right for your VW—or how to get the most performance and drivability out of your dual carbs—this episode is packed with practical tips and real-world knowledge from someone who's been doing it for nearly 40 years.   Heres a link to one of Georges videos on Syncronizig carburators https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f5E1oZyajw&t=26s

Also verstummt er.

This final episode of Branded and Booked is a year-end reflection on what I outgrew in 2025 and what I'm intentionally carrying into 2026. I talk about finishing a 12-cabin micro-resort and what it really feels like to build something big when the risk is real and personal. I share lessons from growing The Weber Co. and Hosted by the Webers, including getting clearer on alignment, pricing our expertise with confidence, and saying no to opportunities that don't fit. A major theme of this episode is family-first decision making. I share how becoming more present with my kids reshaped my goals, my pace, and even who I look to as role models. I'm still ambitious — but I'm no longer chasing growth that competes with the life we want. I also reflect on what I deprioritized this year, including my health and marriage, and what I'm recommitting to moving forward. This episode is about choosing alignment over comparison, staying rooted in your own definition of success, and giving yourself permission to celebrate how far you've come. If you're closing out the year questioning what still fits and what you're ready to release, this episode will resonate. Connect with me:

I walk through each business — The Weber Co., Hosted by the Webers, and Cabins on the Cumberland — and share the real numbers, the mindset shifts, the growing pains, and the wins. I also open up about the conversations Colin and I have been having about our boys, school, where we want to live, and why "camper life" is the plan for next year. Send us a textWhat happens when 400 vegan activists storm your chicken houses? How do you rally an entire county to defeat a ballot measure designed to eliminate family farming? And what drives someone to keep producing food when faced with one existential threat after another?Mike Weber, fourth-generation California egg farmer, doesn't just survive challenges—he transforms them into opportunities for community building and innovation. From the moment his family decided to "bet the farm" and modernize their century-old operation, they've faced a gauntlet of trials that would have broken most businesses: activist invasions, politically-motivated ballot initiatives, and devastating avian influenza outbreaks."We've been tested by fire and flame and everything there possibly is in the last few years—and it's kind of made us stronger for it," Weber explains. His story reveals the remarkable resilience at the heart of American agriculture and the complex reality of farming just 35 miles from San Francisco. When vegan activists orchestrated what Weber calls a "vegan insurrection" on their property, the farm responded not with anger but with transparency. When a ballot initiative threatened all animal agriculture in their county, the Webers helped unite an entire community around their agricultural heritage, eventually winning by an astonishing 85% to 15% margin. Most powerfully, Weber's account challenges simplistic narratives about modern farming. His operation pioneers environmental sustainability with 2,500 solar panels, innovative manure processing systems, and organic fertilizer production. When neighboring farms faced avian influenza outbreaks, Weber and his team suited up in protective gear to help contain the spread—putting community welfare above competitive advantage."Someone's got to feed America," Weber says when asked why he persists despite these extraordinary challenges. His philosophy of stewardship speaks to a deeper purpose: "This isn't our farm. We're just taking care of it until our dad comes back...and we want him to be really proud about where we're at."Ready to understand what really happens behind the scenes in American agriculture? Listen now to this eye-opening conversation that will forever change how you think about the people who produce your food.Hosted by Brandon Mulnix - Director of Commercial Accounts - Prism ControlsThe Poultry Leadership Podcast is only possible because of its sponsor, Prism ControlsFind out more about them at www.prismcontrols.com

Emboldened by their father's mandate that they ‘always stay together,' the children fought through hunger, loneliness, rape, bombings, and fear, declaring themselves as orphans in order to escape to a new life in America. Opportunity is one of the many words that you can use to describe The United States, sure not everyone will succeed and not everyone will get the same opportunities but you get a heck of a lot more than you would in most if not all other countries. This is why so many people immigrated here and still do today. Well, even within this country there were and are places that may give you better odds of success than others. You don't need to stay where you were born and raised or where you arrived.  You can go wherever you like even if it means starting out lower than where you were for a little bit. It's all about perseverance and to put it simply, Hope. Back on the Eastern side of the United States, there was a young guy who had been here a few years from his homeland of Germany. The Eastern States were in a depression of sorts that started in 1837. Many people decided to pack up and leave for whatever was on the horizon, including this young man. He joined up in a travel party that was called the Bartleson-Bidwell party which was the first overland emigrant party to travel to California. When the party arrived in California this young man got a job working for a man you may have heard of; John Sutter, who was kinda like Elon Musk for California at the time if that makes any sense. This young man then changed his name for some reason from Karl David Weber to Charles Weber. After a year or so he basically got himself a letter of recommendation to the Mexican Government from Mr. Sutter and made his way to San Jose where he joined up with William Gulnac in business. They ran all kinds of businesses, A salt mine, a bakery, a corn mill, They made shoes, and soap, and were ranchers as well. One of the cool things back then was after living in California for a while you could apply to become a Mexican citizen and if you were granted that, you would be given a big piece of land. Land that was untamed, and essentially untouched, and may have Indians living there which would be an issue for you. But the point is, you got land. With some work could easily be a way for a man to get extremely rich, Just like today land can be a huge money maker.Well, Webers' business partner was a Mexican Citizen and was given this nice big land known as El Rancho Del Campo De Los Francesse which was over 48 thousand acres in modern-day Stockton and French Camp, He gave up on the land in 1845 and sold it to Weber who gladly took this opportunity to create a city. The next year 1846, the Mexican-American War broke out. This helped Weber with getting people to settle on his land where there would be some protection rather than being all spread out. This new city was called Tuleburg, yet some called it Mudville, and a few called it Weberville. It was growing nicely and as the war continued, Weber was asked to be a Captain for the Mexican Army but he refused. Not long after, He was approached by US forces and he gladly took on the title of Captain from them. Politically, this hurt him and some loyal to Mexico essentially boycotted him but it didn't matter in the long term because he knew America was greater than Mexico and it would be better for that to be on his resume' than that of an enemy of the US. A guy who became famous for his work in California, practically taking over on his own when he wasn't even supposed to be there was a man named Robert Stockton which you can learn all about in my episode about him. Weber wanted to honor the man who made California part of the US and renamed his city, Stockton. Around that time, Gold was discovered and he quickly got himself a mining operation near Placerville and bought the land near it to make another city. This time he named it after himself calling it Weberville. It would not have the same success that Stockton did in the long term but it was definitely a boomtown for a couple of years, it was abandoned sometime in the 1850s.After all this, he essentially retired and lived the rest of his days as a rich man in a land of opportunity. Our new baby boy, Noah Gray, came into our lives, and as expected, this disrupted things quite a bit.  Most of you probably know that Collin and I have decided not to find out the gender until both of our babies were born. I was back and forth between thinking if the baby was a boy or girl this time around until I saw in an ultrasound how much this baby looked like Eli.  All and all, there were several differences with this birth experience that I'll be sharing with you in this episode:  This baby measured bigger since the beginning, along with my HGC levels being higher. (At one point, they were determined we were having multiples.) The physical aspect of the recovery has been quicker this time around. We are up with him every three hours on average.  We have so much going on personally in our lives, which is majorly affecting things post-partum. I actually told Collin 10 days post-partum that I just feel like I'm failing. I know that the baby blues have been a major factor here.  I've been making some major pivots in the business to assist this new market, along with starting a new business, Hosted by The Webers. Twin brothers Rob and Ryan Weber famously started their first company, Freeze.com, out of a St. Cloud State dorm room. They had their first exit before graduating, and a decade later, sold tech startup NativeX to mobile ad platform mobVista for $25 million. All told, the Webers have been involved in more than 50 startups. Today, they're focused on funding them through their venture capital firm, Great North Ventures. They are fierce champions of entrepreneurship—particularly in greater Minnesota, and small towns that don't have all the resources. They share advice on being scrappy and determined; not raising too much and not selling too early; and the billion dollar idea they're still searching for. After our conversation, we go Back to the Classroom with the University of St. Thomas Schulze School of Entrepreneurship. Professor Jay Ebben teaches entrepreneurship from the investor side. "We teach students to think like investors," he says. "What stands out most about Rob and Ryan is the authenticity with which they operate. That's under appreciated in the VC world, and it's a big part of their story."

Endlessly curious about the origin of legends and myths, he is considered a global authority on the creation of iconic, “larger-than-life” brands that attract legions of customers and top talent – without having to use “pushy” marketing tactics. Some organizations he has worked with have achieved 15-30X financial growth while becoming a much coveted and highly desirable “Category of One”. His fascination with “legends” likely dates back to the age of 11, watching the “Immaculate Reception”, December 23, 1972, as Franco Harris galloped into NFL history. Today, that curiosity extends to dissecting how the world's top brands become - simply irresistible. Everything from Apple & AC/DC to Lulu Lemon and Led Zeppelin. Specifically, his research focuses on small, but mighty giants that exert the same magnetic, pulling power similar to what NIKE does with shoes and Harley Davidson with motorcycles. These “Big Little Legends” include historic Café Du Monde in New Orleans; world famous, Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle and Webers on Highway 11 in Northern Ontario. Gair's riveting keynote presentations and hands-on workshops are packed with real-life stories supported by decades of in-the-trenches business experience. Described as a “shock stick of energy”, Gair delivers electrifying, uplifting presentations – both live and virtual - that inspire everyday people to stand apart from the crowd, unleash their inner greatness and build an enduring legacy. He has worked with some of the world's most dynamic organizations, including the Apple Specialist Marketing Group, Caterpillar, NAPA, Leo Burnett (Taiwan), Virginia Tech and others, while sharing conference stages with business icons such as Richard Branson and Gene Simmons. His accomplishments include: • Awarded “Speaker of the Year” by TEC Canada. • Recognized as a Vistage ‘Top Performer' in 2020. • Upwards of 600 appearances with Vistage International, the world's largest CEO Peer Advisory Group. • Best-selling author of Big Little Legends, available through Amazon.com, Indigo, Barnes & Noble, and more. • Podcast Host: “The Leadership Standard” with TEC Canada. A former broadcaster, Gair racked up 10,000+ interviews and 30,000+ broadcasts in an award-winning radio and television career. The son of a former pro golfer from St. Andrews, Scotland, Gair is a military history buff, an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers and a card-carrying Tennessee Squire. He prefers Jack Daniels on the rocks, a frosty Moosehead beer and is a life-long fan of Van Halen who believes both versions of the band with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar should be considered legendary. A native of Moncton, NB, he currently resides in London, ON with Dana and their brood of two cocker spaniels (Theodore & Sophie) along with a beagle-mix rescue named Maggie. Big Little Legends is his second book.

Unser Staffelfinale.
