On March 24, 2024 Matt Bernhard passed away. Known as Mr. Pork Chop Jr., Matt was a RAGBRAI celebrity and alongside his signature pink bus, he made and sold grilled Iowa pork chops on the route each year. Riders would stand in long lines to get a chop that had been grilled on a bed of corncobs right there on the side of the road. His dad had launched the business back in the early 80's after RAGBRAI came through their hometown of Bankroft and when Matt took it over, he perfected grilling techniques and riders responded by stopping whenever they saw the big pink bus. On this episode you will hear an excerpt from Episode 2 of Matt being interviewed by reporter Kyle Munson, and also an excerpt from Episode 127 when Murph interviewed Matt. We also have some special guests on to share memories of Matt and the big pink pig bus. Matt Bernhard is an icon that will be greatly missed. More than 40 percent of Medicare enrollees are enrolled in Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, privately-sponsored health plans that provide Medicare benefits often along with other benefits not included in the standard Medicare package such as eye exams, hearing aids, and dental coverage.Medicare Advantage is growing rapidly. On the current trajectory, it's likely that the majority of Medicare enrollees will be in MA plans within a year or two.Since MA plans are paid on a capitated basis, insurers have a financial incentive to control health care costs. Recently, much attention has been focused on how addressing social needs can yield health benefits, which save MA plans money. In order to address those needs, health plans need to know the social needs of their enrollees.Brian Powers from Humana joins A Health Podyssey to discuss understanding the unmet social needs of Medicare enrollees.Powers and colleagues published a paper in the April 2022 issue of Health Affairs assessing the health related social needs of enrollees in Humana's MA plans. They found significant needs including financial strain, food and utility insecurity, poor housing quality, and unreliable transportation. These needs were distributed unevenly across enrollees by race, socioeconomic status, and sex.If you enjoy this interview, order the April 2022 issue of Health Affairs for research on access to care, hospitals and more.Subscribe: RSS | Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Stitcher | Google Podcasts

Rod and Lauren are a movie-making married duo and their latest work is about to premiere in December! 2020: The Dumpster Fire will be in theatres December 7. In the film, Rod travels the country and examines the civil unrest that unfolded throughout the year. Rod's new song, “Joe Biden Wrote The Patriot Act”, is featured in the movie. In their spare time, Rod and Lauren get into lots of trouble working in media, trolling politicians with performance art, and generally raising hell. On this week's episode, we will be discussing some legal issues that Lauren is currently experiencing. Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Brian Powers, and Christian Perez will all be on tonight's show! This episode of the #Idavox Report will premiere tonight at 8:00. We hope to see you there!
Looks like another worm for the Big Apple. This week, on the #Idavox Report, we're going to be talking about New York City mayor-elect Eric Adams! Daryle Lamont Jenkins will be breaking it all down along with special guest Ash J. and the usual panel of Brian Powers and Christian Perez.
Racists beware! This week, on the Idavox Report, we are going to be talking about The Baldies. The Baldies are an antiracist group out of Minneapolis that formed in the 1980s. They laid the groundwork for today's Anti Racist Action Network (ARA) as well as the modern North American antifascist movement. Last Monday, the documentary The Baldies premiered on PBS. The documentary tells the story of a brave group of skinheads that started as a street team and grew into a powerful antiracist and antifascist network. Daryle Lamont Jenkins, Brian Powers, and Christian Perez will all be there! Our special guest this week is a Baldie named Portland Tom who starred in the documentary. He's going to be talking to us about the production.

This week, Daryle is going to be filling us in on what he observed at the Justice for J6 rally in our nation's capital.
Why is it that the police need patrolling? Community members should feel protected by cops, not that they need to protect themselves against them. Our comrade Afrika has been on the streets of New Jersey with a video recorder and a good sense of morality, catching cops in the act. At what point does a traffic stop become harassment? Where is the line between appropriate law enforcement and abuse of power? Let's see if Afrika can help us find it.
Make sure you catch the Idavox Report this week, because we're about to take a break for the month of August! Will you miss us? We will miss you. But tonight, before all that, Daryle Lamont Jenkins is going to be talking about a failed rally at which he stopped by. Christian Perez and Brian Powers will be there as well! Don't miss our classic Idavox panel as we approach summer break.
Oh, ho, ho, we've got a lot to talk about this week! Buckle your seatbelt, because this Tuesday at 8PM EST, Daryle Lamont Jenkins will be hosting Rod Webber, and they're going to discuss what happened a few weeks ago at Hunter Biden's art gallery. Why was Rod, who was not fighting back, being physically restrained before the cops even got to the scene? Let's take a look at some video footage and find out what was going on. And let's not forget that Thursday is Daryle's birthday. Finally, we will be remembering another anniversary of the tragic terrorist attack in Oslo. Come join us!
This week on #NJRR Live, we will be covering an assortment of topics! Join Brian Powers and Christian Perez as they break down what's been going on in politics, local, international, and interplanetary! ...No, seriously.

What will it take for Roma people to be treated with humanity and dignity?
We are back to present this special segment with our comrade Kathy O'Leary! Join her, Brian Powers, and Christian Perez as we learn about the peace movement inside this enormous and powerful religious institution.
This week, Daryle Lamont Jenkins will be joined as usual by Brian Powers and Christian Perez. We need to talk about what's happening in New Jersey on June 19, 2021. Supposedly, there will be a white power music show. There are rumors about the location but it's difficult to be sure where it will be. Let's not let this happen without giving them hell and showing them that hate has consequences.
Christian Perez and Daryle Lamont Jenkins join Brian Powers to bring us a celebration of 21 Years of One People's Project! Happy Anniversary to everybody who has supported the anti fascist work of OPP and IDAVOX! The crew discusses reports of right wing organizations and organizers who have been making attempts at coalition with left wing groups protesting for #BLM, Healthcare, and other causes. Is this a good idea? Well, no. And we explain why. Plus! Christian explains the turmoil in Peru to Brian and the "leaders" of our country ignore it. Peru is dealing with a version of Trumpism and planning a coup after election results were not what they wanted. How is that going for them?
Tonight, we've got a big show coming at you! First, Belisha Beacon joins us to review the movie Moxie. Then, we will be joined by Christian Perez, Dr. Flavio Hickel Jr., Afrika, and Jessica Berrocal. We will talk about intimidation and overall electioneering going on at the polls during the primary election in New Jersey.
Remember when so-called comedian Jimmy Dore had a member of a hate group on his show? Well, that Boogaloo clown has been doxxed. We're going to be talking about it with Rod Webber and Lauren Pespisa, who have been in contact with Jimmy Dore about the incident.
#NJRR Live is back for an important episode. As Israel uses violence against a problem they created, the world seems to have figured it out. Unfortunately, the United States is always there to enable the illegal occupations and blockades.
Something fishy is going down in Tennessee. Why are lawmakers allowing blatant white supremacy groups to have huge events? What happens when their Constituents speak out against it? Tonight, Daryle Lamont Jenkins talks to Will York about the American Renaissance Conference.
The #Idavox Report is coming at you, as we do every Tuesday at 8PM EST! Join Daryle Lamont Jenkins and Christian Perex as they interview a panel including Beth Foster and other educators.
